Oh dear another one shaking the pom poms whilst burying their head in the sand.

As Potguy said in the other thread, if there was A plan, ONE idea of how he wants to play, ONE iota of intelligence regarding tactics, ONE shred of evidence of when to make substitutions, ONE flicker of creativity...then the majority of fans would be patient.

HOWEVER, none of the above have been evident in any way shape or form and our performances have been an embarrasment.

So you want to give him 6 months to get worse??? Do yourself a favour and wake up.

You talk about "a learning curve" but we are getting worse and worse and worse by each game. When Malky had bad spells nobody got on his back because we knew he was a young manager learning his game. The same could be said for Rodgers who had some terrible results yet was still regarded as a good up and coming manager. This however is very different. Dyche is showing absolutely no signs of promise. Just because he is a rookie manager does not mean he is a good manager in the making. He's a bad manager in the making. He's an absolute disaster. He has to go.

Are you sure? Even when Malky was going through good spells people were on his back!

Watford have set three new managers on their career path recently, and Dyche is the fourth. Watford deserve credit for that, but this will not always provide success. In any other business, and football is a business, a new manager has to provide good results. Football is ruthless and if you don't deliver then patience is pretty thin. If there was no such thing as relegation, (as the Premier League would like) then I'm sure more managers would be given time, but unfortunately there is such a thing. Relegation will cost the club a fortune in revenue and the lower league status could last a long time. So it is not surprising that managers are sacked after a sustained period of poor form. A new manager is even more likely to be sacked, as does not have a good run of form to point to in the past. So when a new manager has a record of 2 wins from 13 matches, only 10 goals scored, plus a pre-season to forget, it would be no surprise fans would lose faith.

On here by a few keyboard warriors maybe, but I never once heard booing or chanting against him at a game. He was always applauded off, always had his name sung.

I think the majority of fans were more forgiving with Malky, unlike now where it seems Dyche doesn't have that many friends on here.

So Admin, you've enjoyed watching the games and you can see Dyche's gameplan or what he's trying to achieve?

Oh, the article didn't go down so well. I may point out though, I didn't write it.

I just think it's easy to blame Dyche but have any individuals been performing well? I'm not so sure of many.

His tactics can be slightly dire at time, I'll admit that, but give him time. He's learning.

If we're in the same position in a month's time, then I'll change my view.

He has had five months and we are getting worse so I would say he isn't learning.

    Welcome to the forums though!

I'll tell you what annoys me, and that's people not being able to put over their point of view over without getting shot down, just because it doesn't agree with other people's opinions. See above. A brand new poster being rounded on already, give yourself a pat on the back.

When I said it was a good read it's because it was. It might or might not have been completely the opposite to my own point of view, but it was well written and made some good points.

I've made my position crystal clear on Sean Dyche so I will again, which is that to sack him before Christmas makes us just another sad pathetic little club who's owners listen too much to the fans. I wholeheartedly disagree with most people on this forum about the team, because most of you seem to forget that apart from selling our 3 best players the ex-manager knicked most of the backroom staff. With the huge changes in the summer and a learning manager, what in Gods name do you expect 11 games into the season? How quickly some forget the dirge served up in Boothroyds last season, where we're at now isn't even close.

Get off his back, he's our manager, let's give him a fighting chance. PYA, you were right.

I normally agree with you on the football front but we have very differing views on Dyche. I went to my first game in ’94 and in that time I have never joined in with any chanting about a manager should be sacked as it is just not right. At WFC we have had some great managers over the years and some not so good. From an outsider looking in I could understand people saying about it only being 11 games, but I’ve seen most of those and that is long enough to gauge an opinion. We have gone backwards since the start of the season.

I was asked the other day if it was the worst I had known it at the Vic and I would say that it is. Have you seen football more pointless and turgid before at the Vic? It is a genuine question, as I haven’t. I’ve seen some carp being played, we all have, but nothing as hideously boring and ineffective as we are seeing now.

I have. The football just before Lewington was sacked was awful. I knew without doubt that we were going down that season, then Boothroyd came in and saved us. Then Boothroyds last season, 2 games stand out for me. One was Blackpool at home on a Saturday where we lost 3 or 4 nil, and I remember quite clearly sitting there thinking this is by far the worst football I've ever seen played. We were shapeless, clueless and couldn't give a ****. It was obvious to me that he had lost the dressing room.

Earlier that season was an evening match against Barnsley. My Daughter was one of the mascots so we had a few extra friends and family come to watch. The football was so bad I was actually embarrassed to have brought extra people along, we lost 3-0. Some mascot!

With Dyche I do see problems, but nothing as bad as many on here seem to see. I worry that many are being swept along by opinions of others, especially those who shout loudest. I always wonder what would have happened had Man U listened to all their fans back in the late 80's when Ferguson was having a bad time with the team until a spark of genius in a Cup game got him some extra time?

  16. Tell you what pisses me off - personal abuse at a guy who is doubtless doing his best and has been a fine servant to the club. Whether you want him to go or not, at least give the guy some respect.

gooner - perhaps you'd better go back to the emirates.

  17. Another thing - did anybody go to the last game of last season at PNE? That was pretty much as bad as what we've had this year, in fact the abject capitulation of the second half of last season was pretty much the same as we are being dished up now. Not to say that Dyche shouldn't step down, but let's not let the rose tinted spectacles disguise the fact that Malky's reign was a not a thing of beauty.

History is worthless. Arsenal should get rid of wenger and Watford need to get shot of Dyche. Football is about today, not the past. Players who do their best and can't cut it need to go. Get in to the real world you fantasy queen.

That Barnsley game brings back some terrible memories!

I also remember that Blackpool game, it was 3-4. I remember walking out and saying that would be the end of Boothroyd, and I them remember being sat on the M25 when I heard he had gone. Even then, which was undeniably terrible football, we were playing badly but with a purpose, whereas at the moment we don’t seem to have that purpose.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to convert you to shout for ‘Dyche out’ and everybody should stand for what they think rather than being swept up by others opinions, but at the moment we are at as low an ebb as I can remember.

I really hope that at Christmas we can look at this thread and you can say ‘told you so, LBH. We are doing ok now’ – I will be delighted to be proved wrong. I really, really want Dyche to do well but we seem to be in reverse. Remember the Derby game at the start of the season? I’m still trying to work out how we didn’t win that game, but we created more chances in that game then we have in the last six or seven games.

Why should i pay good money and go around the Country to watch ****e?

You can mock and scorn, but i've been to every away game this season and am fed up of watching Sordell doing nothing. If he's got a problem with Dyche he should still make an effort on the pitch. You lot of armchair supporters need to wake up and smell the coffee.

  22. Ah, lovely. Even if history is worthless doesn't mean you should abuse the 'ginger pube' (quote). Maybe Aresnal should get rid of the paedo, eh? In fact your attitude is completely typical of a glory hunting little ****. P1ss off back to the premiershyte with the other plastics to whom history is worthless.

I dont see that many personal attacks on Dyche , and those that do , should be ignored , facts are facts , i have seen as much watford football as 90% of this board , and i struggle to recall games with as little soul and effort as southampton away , even Fulham 5-0 on Boxing day wasnt as bad! , and thats saying something

I tell you what i think is upsetting people....

    3 things

Dyches interview the other week where he blamed the previous regime
Dyches interview today where he says he needs another striker , when we have tons on the books , almost all of them as good as we are going to get anywhere else given our budget constraints , something isnt ticking , and i think Garner , Sordell and even big Chris wuld produce more , if the supply was there
and lastly ,for me , the worst , is the lack of effort , and thats the killer for me , and the chaps i know that go week in week out day the same , they cant identify with this team , and much as Dyche was a geezer ion his day ,he hasnt managed to isntill that into his team

Just want to ask you about one point you made. You said to sack him before Christmas would make us a sad little club. So sacking him after Christmas would be not as bad, as we would have given him more of a chance. Is that your point? If so, I would say to leave it as late as Christmas, if we continue this run we are on, would be too late. There are 34 matches left and we have to win 14 of them in order to stay up. Leave it until Christmas, then it would be futile to sack him as we would already be all but relegated. I would say you may as well keep him as the damage would already have been done. If you dont want to sack him before Christmas, just for appearance sake, then it is not the way to go. Who cares what the outside world thinks. We have to do whatever it takes to stay in the Championship, and I'm sure the owner would see it that way too.

Article is a decent little read. Dych scenario is a difficult one. I think he deserves more time, for instance, wins against Hull and Peterborough and we will be looking at 14th/15th which is what I personally expect. Currently, the situation isn't great.

Dyche had a complete choice of players to strengthen the squad and was given a decent budget. Most of the players don't want to play for him, yet you know better????

Football is all about points....and we don't have many. You'll all be crying next may and wish you'd have got rid of him earlier.

Even when Malky was manager Watford have been playing extremely defensive football because of the manager's experiences as a player. The same goes for Sean Dyche. The fact that we have lost Graham, the only real goalscorer since Tommy Smith is tragic but we need someone who has a complete overview of attacking as wel as defending. We get the ball and there's no push to keepthe ball on the floor and split defences.

No that isn't my point at all. Many people are saying they can't identify with the team, well that's because of the wholesale changes made so it's going to take time to like this new lot, maybe even longer than a single season. Since I've supported Watford we don't sack people quickly, and perhaps that's why we've punched well above out weight for about a quarter of a century now? To sack Dyche this soon into the season after a Summer of massive upheaval would turn the club into something I can't identify with, not the team. Why so few fail to see that surprises me to be honest.

I can forgive the mistakes, maybe the odd duff signing and I think most watford fans are pretty tolerant regarding points and wins. weve accepted were skint, and we have a reliance on youth. Its pretty depressing to have something (youth) that were so passionate about seemingly disregarded by the management. Add in the current tactics and i can empathise with the Dyche out crowd.

Happy to give him a chance, as long as he opens his mind a little.
