Anya must be dropped

I'm not saying Anya has been poor this season with my post - he's probably an 7 or 8 out of 10. My point is I find it frustrating that QSF seemingly has no time for 5/6 players who should/could have been useful members of our squad and won't use them no matter how his preferred players perform on a given day. And this alienates them.

Probably the same people who booed at half time.

Is there any conclusive proof of that other than speculation on here? I understand entirely that the 'we're a happy squad' stuff the club line up some players to spoon feed us is probably over simplistic but I don't hear any agents murmuring in the press about goings on at Watford and how their client has eyes on a move elsewhere. Certainly QSF is as honest as I've ever known a manager/head coach. If the media ask him about a player's situation he inevitably gives a straight answer, which is a lot more than most do.

So,the next time Anya pulls out of a tackle, you'll applaud him?

Layun presumably left because he couldn't seem himself getting game time and was never played in his correct position anyway. Presumably Holebas doesn't have a default objectionable setting and got miffed because he was number 1 at Roma and nowhere close to number 1 here.

Berghuis I can see might be happy to be a development player with one eye on next season. However, Ibarbo, Diamanti and Guediora are in the peak of their careers (or with time running out) and don't get a look in and I would have thought it only a matter of time before they consider their options.

The real concern is if we get a couple of injuries, are any of these players who have been disregarded so far going to

    A) Be anywhere near match fit
    B) Feel part of the project

I simply don't understand why when Watson was playing poorly and then picked up a yellow card Guediora wasn't considered for 30 mins of game time (for example).

My personal opinion is that Guedioura isn't the man to play that holding midfielder role anyway. I see him more in the Abdi role - providing width and a bit of running with the ball at his feet, snapping at opponents' heels and dropping back when the team don't have the ball.

Layun was getting plenty of game time so that makes little sense. I agree he wasn't in his favoured position but then even Saint Joka didn't play him there. Holebas has had the arse since he landed.

I think Britos is the answer to your questions A and B. I don't think you'd have found a soul on here prepared to pitch him in at Stoke and drop Prodl and yet here we are.

Britos is a different case in my opinion. He's had a 6 game ban so how many matches was he realistically thinking that the gaffer didn't fancy him?

Layun was allegedly disillusioned after being dropped for the saints game and fielded in the reserve team at Preston.

It's strange that people are calling for wholesale changes to the playing 11 based on the narrowest of defeats to Man Utd who are 2nd in the league. All our players have some limitations, but surely we didn't need a defeat to Man Utd to tell us this? It's also strange that some fans think we played poorly, but the media narrative is that we played well and their keeper was man of the match.

By not chopping and changing based on the odd poor performance QSF is setting a higher standard for the non playing squad members. I'm still reassured that we have players that could come in. For me Behrami is better than Watson, but then we'd lose his set pieces.

Our distribution was collectively poor, particularly in the first half. That owed much to how Man Utd closed us down and prevented us from playing. I also thought Smalling and Jones played well. Possibly a blueprint for other teams to follow now they realise they can't just turn up and win against us. Our next 3 opponents might do the same.

The reality is that he's small and tackling is not his strength. He can go in for 50:50 balls, but if he loses out then the opponent is clear to run at the defence. I don't think it's a mental weakness, but more an appreciation of what he is not good at.

Do you applaud every tackle like a seal?

Anya isn't a full back, never has been, never will be - who puts a 5"7 attacking winger as a full back? Where's your criticism of Sanchez? It worked in the Championship against weaker opposition. Ake and Paredes (maybe) are better options in my opinion. Now should Anya start in midfield - probably, we haven't got any other options really, if Ibarbo, Diamanti and Birdhouse were ever going to make the cut they'd of started to be introduced for longer periods by now.

You can point the finger at Anya as much as you like, but in reality, Anya should've been in Jurado's position and Ake is Anya's.

Or indeed that he is following his coach & managers orders and not going to ground, instead jockeying the attacker and not allowing the cross into our box. His positional play is good and as long as he has a teammate to work with on his side (not Jurado this week or Diamanti 2 months ago) then the work he is asked to do, he does.

Despite criticism of Anya, it was fan's favourite Ake who was ball watching and so left Schweinsteiger unmarked for the winning goal.

Well he's this week's fan favourite, wasn't it that Anya should play instead of him a few weeks ago?

Ake will be back in the bad books after a disastrous performance against Hogg and Vila
