Lee has been go for us before in the championship and since then he has got better and has play well in the premiership this all suggests to me that he will be good enough to be are number 1 next season.

Lee had some good games for us in the Prem but didnt get a decent run in the team. Making him number 1 chocie would boost his confidence and obviously being number 1 would help him to improve.

    From the BBC:

Okay, so chances of him coming here are minimal at best. But given our track record of developing Foster it would be silly not to at least make a bid.

Mart Poom is a fantastic keeper and streets ahead of most of those mentioned. I would be happy if he came here, though he's not one for the future.

Lee Camp of Derby apparently wants away and is good and Richard Wright could get back on track with good coaching. Goalies often have periods of form dips early in their careers and come good again and Wright could be one of those who improve again.

Poom is also 35 going on 36. I think that rules him out to be honest. He's not just 'not one for the future', he's one for the past!

If you are good enough you are the right age.

Im still sticking by my guns and saying that we should stick to what we got. What's the point of having another keeper on loan that we wont end up signing, we'll make him great, then he'll bugger off a la Foster.

People say Lee isnt good enough etc but how is he supposed to improve if he doesnt get a chance?? It's not like he was tried and tested sitting on the bench all season. He has his flaws but all keepers do thats why they play to improve.

It's all about Lee and Loach

Okay, at best he has one more year left in him. That simply delays the buying of a new permanent goalkeeper for another season. If we're going down that road I'd rather we looked to loan someone again.

Thing is Carly he played a Championship level full season under Raymundo and I'd say he'd already reached the peak of his potential. Can't see him improving dramatically like we all saw Foster do. We also need to hit the ground running with a proven goalkeeper this time - no time to develop anyone, Lee included.

I think that we should give Lee a chnace, he deserves it and will beone of the best championships goalies, also for the suggestions on Tomasz Kuszczak hes a good shot stopper but cant catch the ball for **** which would cost scrappy goals!

Fair point, but i guess i'm looking at it as i dont actually wanna go straight back (gasp etc i know). I dont think it would benefit us to do so, maybe money wise seeing as the teams coming down next season are gonna get £30mil? but i want us to establish our team and build up like Reading did so for me Lee would be a good choice. He's still young so i dont think he's reached his peak yet, all people can do is improve in my eyes. I just dont want us to spend money on something that we could already have

    I have three choices:

    Boaz Myhill (Hull)
    Stuart Taylor (Villa)
    Carlo Nash (PNE)

I think he could probably do a job for a couple of seasons, which would give Scott Loach time to come through and replace him. We also have another very promising young keeper, his name escapes me, but I believe he is the current Welsh keeper at his age level.

So maybe Aidy is looking for someone like Mart Poom to fill in for a couple of seasons and allow our youngsters to mature?
