I wasn't sure when I first read this but then I tried it, slow clapping any lalala-ing with gusto. It's great and can go on and on. After a few minutes I think the neighbours were trying to join in, and they don't normally like me.

I suggested this tune on a thread last year. A good effort but It doesn't need any swearing or mention of the scummers. It should be a positive song about us and not have negative words about rivals/managers etc , so i've made some suggestions.

 

Exactly Dom, we should pick a song and just sing the lyrics as they are; my choice would me EJ's "Your Song" , having said that I would change just one word and sing "Our Song"

 

Elton John's Taylor made army was the song that got everybody going.... Gino Pozzo's Zola powered army .. a decent update?

I think we would get away with that end bit as people would assume the last "you're" is the club. "Our" being the supporters and the club!!!

 

I, for one, would be perfectly happy with that.

Your Song got my vote, they should play it before the players come out with a montage on the big screen.

EJ has nothing to do with the club anymore. Might as well sing Bonser out!

 

After Z cars is when it should be played i reckon, if everyone tweets Richard Short @enjooooythegame asking for this it should kick off from there, might take a few months but one game it will just take off.

I'm glad to see others are coming round to thinking that "Your Song" would make a great club anthem.

As for singing it on the terraces I would envisage that it would just be the chorus that would be sung.

To be honest the club should do more to recognise what EJ did for us and a rendition of Your Song would be a great tribute to him. I mean we have one of the worlds greatest ever singer/songwriters associated with us and we don't even play a single song ... ever? Shame on the club, let's do something to put it right and if we manage to get ourselves a Watford anthem whilst we're at it then great.

IMO Your Song is the best idea for an anthem in this thread so far.
