Dont spoil our cup final. I think you will beat us 6.0, but im so proud to play you. I can tell my grandkids in years to come "lad when i was younger i went to Vicarage road, the home of Elton john"
Bond Hodson Mariappa Mirfin Doyley Yeates Eustace Whichelow Forsyth Garner Deeney Subs: Bonham, Hoban, ****inson, Hogg, Murray, Sordell & Iwelumo. Bond in for the suspended Loach obviously, Mirfin, Doyley, Eustace, Whichelow, Forsyth & Garner because they haven't seen much action recently. Deeney because he could do with a goal. The rest can stay the same because we should be respecting the competition.
FAO: Admin - I won't be able to chuck a Preview together for this one, so as with nemonemo's other threads in recent weeks - you can probably sticky this one and make it the Match Thread? As for the starting line-up, I reckon a run out for the reserves with a few of the first teamers who haven't played much in recent weeks. I.e. Lloyd, Eusty, Mirfin, Iwelumo etc. (This isn't because I think we'd walk over Bradford - as we almost certainly won't... but I won't be too disappointed if we go out, even though another Cup Semi-Final run would be nice.
Not long to go now, im getting all exited now . I think we can pull this one off if you have John Barnes in midfield and Elton John and his husband up front But if you dont i think you will beat us. Setting of soon not sure where it is, someone said its in a little village near Brentford.
Are people excluding ****inson because they think he's suspended or because they think he needs a rest? Would anyone still play Mirfin with Nos available?
Sunderland are allowing Nosworthy to play for us in tomorrow's game. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2567877,00.html "THE Hornets received an unexpected late boost late yesterday with the news that Sunderland have kindly granted permission for Nyron Nosworthy to play in tomorrow's FA Cup tie. No specific terms either way had been set out in the original loan agreement between the Black Cats and Watford, with the centre-half's loan not officially expiring until January 8. "It's very welcome news and we're grateful to Martin O'Neill," said manager Sean Dyche of the development. "Nyron has been training with us all week in the hope this might have turned out to be the case." "The club has always talked of the Portsmouth game being Nyron's last of his spell, out of courtesy to Sunderland," added Watford's Football Business Director Ross Wilson. Indeed, the defender had been removed from the squad list in tomorrow's match programme, to show that no assumptions had been made. So a welcome boost - and a further a selection choice - for Dyche and his coaching staff to consider."
Good news - If they are willing to let him play surely that indicates he is not in MON plans, so we could possibly get the loan extended or fingers crossed a perm move.
It probably shows that there won't be wholesale changes because the club have obviously fought hard to make him available. It will probably be a mix and match xi: Bond Doyley Marriappa Nosworthy ****inson Yeates Eustace Buaben Forsyth Iwelumo Garner Subs: Bonham Hodson Mirfin Hogg Whichelow Sordell Deeney Would be my prediction
Personally to get Lloyd 90 minutes. One has to assume that if the club have been hoping to have NN available he will play. Personally I'd have given Mirfin a run-out.
Doyley to left back, Thompson in at right back and you've got a deal. Murray on the bench as well, he's been brilliant for the youth team and deserves a place in the squad.
Murray isn't even in the squad, confirmed on twitter, a bit disappointing would have liked to see him
get behind your team and get f drunk live life to the full this country is f ... its ****e but wot the hell if u live in bradford u no what i mean good look lads
Team: Bond; Doyley, Mariappa, Nosworthy, ****inson; Yeates, Eustace (c), Hogg, Forsyth; Sordell, Deeney. Subs: Bonham, Thompson, James, Jenkins, Buaben, Iwelumo, Garner.
One of the strongest sides Dyche could have put out, would maybe have liked to see Whichelow or Murray on the bench but I trust Dyche's choice.
Would've liked James/Garner to start but glad Eustace and Doyley both getting a game. Neither are bad players but they just haven't been able to get in the side
Not a bad game for the 3rd round, glad i decided to go, although the goals we let in were dissapointing. Forsyths 2nd was a cracking goal by the way!
Had a bad feeling when it went to 1-1 but im glad we responded well and got a very good victory. FA Cup Draw tommorow 5-30pm by the way
Would of liked to see Murray/Whichelow/Hoban but oh well seeing Tom James for 5 minute kept me happy. Poor Garner really wants to score or he's just a greedy *****? Thought Yeates was average, Forsyth was lucky. Eustace was quality as was Nosworthy if we dont get him back we could lose form. Bond was okay aswell, looked shaky as can be expected but good punches and overall wasn't at fault for the goals. Still think Hogg is the best player in the team. Bring on QPR/MK Dons away!
Easy win all in all, they had a big lump in defence and a big lump up top, spent 90 minutes launching it at the two of them Bond I think was excellent all things considered, few shaky moments but thats what you would expect, a very promising performance Sordell I thought was brilliant, a quality goal and then two excellent crosses for the 1st and 3rd. Fozzy's second was lovely, sweetly struck
A solid enough performance against a side that kept going despite the scoreline. Sordell really showed some moments of quality today and Deeney did well. Oddly Bradford probably caused us more problems at the back than some championship sides.. Bond was very composed I feel and Bruce getting 2 will do his confidence a world of good. Roll on the 4th round.... BTW Fair play to the numbers from Bradford..more than a lot of champ sides!
For all the (often justified) criticism of Forsyth, he is now our 2nd top scorer of the season! And has equalled the number of goals Cowie and Buckley both scored last season. Please note I said often justified criticism..I'm not rushing to defend some of his performances this season..but its goals that win games and at least he is capable of getting a few
Bradford were very poor, as expected, but I was amazed at how many chances they created. But for a lino's flag it would have been 4-3. Only Watford can throw away 4-1 lead in the 89th minute and they did their best to get a draw from an easy win. Good performance from Eustace, especially after his bang on the head. Hogg was great and so was Sordell in the first half, but faded in the second. I thought the whole of the back four had an off day, as none impressed and didn't do much to protect a rookie keeper. Forsyth was again poor, but strangely ended up with a couple of goals. The second one being a great strike, although the first my nan would have scored. Deeney shows once again he's not a Championship striker but did his best against opposition more his own level. I thought Yeates had a poor game and was not impressed with Iwelumo yet again. He air kicked the easiest chance he'll ever get, and Garner looked very greedy on the ball. It was a strange game as large parts were boring, with little going on, then a glut of goals. Overall Watford had enough to beat poor opposition, but can count themselves lucky they were not playing a side like Stevenage today.
