The review started off as Richarlison = Watford but said that his assist for the first was marginal then they compared him to Rashford. Wright said that the defending for his goal was poor but for Sheeran praised the header, which was actually very good as he had to lean back to ensure he didn’t ‘fifty pence’ it into the crowd (as I would have)

He is very good in the air, he could challenge Helguson for his ability to hang in the air. Maybe the Helgu and Richarli families are related!

Can’t wait for Arsenal, it’ll be the first home game I’ve seen this season apart from Burton and that Spanish team.

Seemed fair enough analysis to me, good that we were backed for the foul. I thought a 2-2 game would be on before stoke vs saints but perhaps they chose that because there was a winner?

I'm so mad, I'm going to watch the whole game again on that football highlights Reddit in protest.

Agreed about the Stoke game. But I spose Linekar had a good laugh with Crouchy the freak so fairs fair.

I think it was a foul. Yes he played the ball but his left leg made sure it took the player

I don't know what people expect from the BBC and other media.

The Watford brand is sh!t and always will be. People from outside the WD postcode simply don't care about Watford and never will.

A 0-0 between Man City and Chelsea will always be of more interest to the wider public than Watford 5 Stoke 4. Capoe scoring a perfect hatrick less of a story than Kane shinning one in from a yard out. Rooney missing a sitter more newsworthy than Pereya scoring from his own half.

It's why people still fork out £50+ for Champagne, even though the £9.98 Aldi brand routinely comes top in blind taste tests.

The trick is not to care. If you're desperate for Doucoure to get the recognition he deserves, you only have to wait a season till he plays for Tottchelpool Utd.

The thing is, I don’t think that the MOTD coverage reflected what I heard on 3CR, read in the Wobby or read on here. Sources I trust for a balanced review more than MOTD.

Realistically we’ll always be on behind Tottarslipoolutdchelcity

I loved the bit about Rondon milking his goal celebrations.

Also loved the fact that Wrighty and Shearer were unanimous that McLean had indeed fouled Richarlison. Pulis you're a lone voice in the wilderness mate.

'But he got a foot to the ball' has been no excuse for 20 years, just how out of touch is Pulis?

And how blind if he thinks McDirtyClean never touched him

Do you notice how line_acres voice really changes when he says our name, (and Waaatfoood up to 5th) I liked him as a player but he is bias towards us as a pundit (he hates us)!

And to think we could have bought him - Leicester wanted ( I think) 350k and GT was not prepared to pay more than 300k !

Just had Goal of the month on MOTD.

Janmaat could count himself unlucky not to have his strike at Southampton selected I feel!

Goalkeeper didn't cover himself in glory for that one. It was a fairly saveable shot.

The last bit of 2Good/2Bad showed a grinning Gray larking around with Richarlison who wasn't in the mood.

Yes he "Touched" the ball first, but he made damn sure that he then took the player.
Correct decision by the referee all day long.

It would be great to see a game with the only rule regarding fouls being you must touch the ball, obviously not involving our team as we have enough Injuries already!

Does anyone here believe Silva would leave for Everton if he were to be offered the job right now?

He made a few negative comments following the transfer window but he seems fairly happy here and he's got the players playing for him.

I'm sure if he has one or two good seasons with us he could be up for a top job (Arsenal may be?). I reckon, given time, he can do better than Everton anyway.

It would be senseless for Silva to go there right now mainly because he's on to a good thing here and currently isn't under pressure, if he goes there he would be under pressure from the outset and if he didn't turn things around his stock will drop particularly so if he ended up getting sacked.

I thought you was not allowed to manage two teams in the same league in the same season. If true Silva would not be able to sign for anyone until next season

Arsenal fans definitely have him on their radars but they'd need a bloody big crowbar to shift Wenger on before the summer and even then we'd need to at least qualify for the Europa for any serious interest from the club.

I don't think that's true but if he's under contract he has to be sacked/released first so hostile bids are unusual.

I doubt he'd go to Everton but oh the irony that someone who less than a year ago wasn't good enough for hull according to some experts is now too good for us according to others

I cannot see that happening right now. Although I suspect the phrase "he's here for a good time, not a long time" is apt. Silva is extremely ambitious and does not stay at one club for very long. He's building a career and it will not stop at Watford.

I hope he sees out his two year contract, however I can see him leaving sooner if we have a very good season. I don't think he'll decide to go this season though, as when you're building a career you do not want to be seen as moving on a bigger things too quickly. That can be used against you at some future time.

I think right now, both Silva and Watford are walking the same path, so it's a perfect match. If we derail, or if he outgrows the club, then there will be a natural parting of the ways, so I think we should just enjoy this season and see where it takes us.

Yes as long as you ignore weakened pound and slowing growth rates. For the real Armageddon we have to wait until we conclude the exit negotiations and realise how important resolution was to us vs the rest. As the chairman of CBI said at a dinner I was at on Monday , it's our #1 issue but not in the top 2-3 for most other euro countries.

I really can’t see Silva going to Everton this season, but maybe that’s blind optimism on my part.

Surely he backs himself and has confidence in his own abilities, and if he does surely he’s also clever enough to know that whatever place he manages to guide us to in the premier league, he’d have to guide Everton to a significantly higher one to get at least the said amount of recognition.

Let’s say he gets us to 7th, that would really get him on the radar of some huge clubs, but realistically if he got Everton to 7th it wouldn’t really be any great deal. He’d have to get them top four to make the same impact. Everton are obviously a bigger club than us, but they are an upper-middle tier team. I can’t see that being the pinacle if his ambition. Everton will not be his end goal, so I don’t see a huge benefit to him in jumping ship from us where he can really make waves, to joining Everton who already have a lot of ground to make up, yet automatically have expectations greater than ours.
