Remember when he left and said he was **** because the club force fed him orange juice, which made him fat?

So Troy is also a nutritionist in addition to all his other talents. When will all these revelations end ?

We binned off Forestieri and Vydra for Oulare, Diamanti and Ibarbo then had to watch Deeney and Ighalo misfire for half a season as we had literally no-one else to play upfront. Happy times!

Just checking, has anyone else noticed that we're a week into the transfer window, and we haven't even showed the faintest sign of bringing in a professional striker or replacing our best midfielder, who we just sold to Spain for a relative pittance? Does someone perhaps need to point out to Gino that there is no winter break, and the games and, indeed, training continue whilst the window is open?

This final indicator for judging the competence of the Pozzo is not going that well as it stands.

Given the numbers at the club, and we are told that Xisco prefers to play 1 upfront, I really don't expect any movement on strikers unless another one leaves (plus Murray).

I can't say I 'expect' it, either, but the fact remains that we don't have a single striker capable of scoring goals from open play with any regularity, causing the opposition any particular problems or even allowing/helping other players get into scoring positions with their own play (I'm aware this is no secret to you).

The only other hopes, and I stress hope, we have to change that have both just been ruled out for another month or more. It's madness.

We simply cannot leave this transfer window with the same striking options we have and claim to be even targeting automatic promotion, or, frankly, considering ourselves as being strong challengers for the playoffs.

If Xisco prefers to play upfront we are also absolutely royally f ucked, as, again, we literally don't possess a striker who is capable of it. That is just one of the myriad indicators that there is no excuse for leaving the situation as it is, other than mismanagement, failure and decline.

Speak for yourself - I spent the festive period convincing myself Isaac Success is going to come back and be incredible.

(I spent most of the festive period drunk, just for reference)

Comment from someone along the lines of "when it's quiet that's when Gino is working the magic..." in 3...2...1...

12 direct from free kicks plus 2 direct from corners.

That's 14 potential wins right there.

Doubt we will buy anyone without outgoings as our wage bill must easily exceed revenue. Perhaps a loan signing

    I'm 99.9% sure we won't be signing a striker.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't even replace Capoue.

Remember the days when we were linked with Europe's elite, only to be bitterly disappointed by 31/1 ? At least we won't have that crushing blow this window, we all know where this window is heading.

By signing worthless players on long term contracts Gino has created this mess. It is useful for young players with potential and resale value not for old crocks and the utterly awful dross like Gray. At a time when the club cannot afford to lose money we are throwing it away hand over fist and also leaving no room to make moves in the transfer market. Had we been cash rich this would be an ideal time to take promising players from clubs less well off. Terrific work Gino and Scott. By the time this month is over we will have wasted 0.75M for example on Deeney, Gray and Navarro.

Come on, we're not signing a striker. We can't even get rid of the ones we don't want. Murray is going to sit on his arse until the end of the season because neither us or his parent club want him. Farcical.

I doubt we're signing anyone. If Xisco carries on with a two in midfield then the brains trust at the club will see Hughes, Chalobah, Cleverley, Garner and Phillips as enough.

I doubt we will sign anyone either ..... but I thought id pop it on just incase they read it and suddenly call a board meeting where one of our genius leaders can can profess to have thought that signing a striker might help us out !!!!

I watched Crawley's FA Cup game against Torquay Utd in the previous round. Amazing game, finished 6-5. I can't recommend any of their defenders (obviously), but a couple of their forward players definitely looked better than some of ours useless lumps.

(So did a couple of Torquay's, which is slightly worrying.)

Who remembers when it was said we always had a list of 3/4 options in any position and it was down to the coach to choose one and then we'd get on it. I can only presume that Ivic took the only copy of that list with him and we're having to start from scratch. We knew Capoue was leaving the day after the Norwich game and the club were very keen to feed Leventhal the line that funds would be reinvested in a replacement.

15 days later... no sign of any movement. Ok the window doesn't shut for two and a half weeks but there are five winnable fixtures in that period. Same story as the injury to Masina, we had over 50 days to find a semi-competent replacement for the first half of the season and couldn't find anyone, not even on loan.

We have been linked today with Ilias Chair from QPR who would be imho a very decent upgrade to our midfield. Hes a little physically light but scores goals and is creative.

Top player. But I would imagine he's being tracked more as a Sarr replacement for the summer than anything else. Nothing like Capoue. Would be pretty pricey too.

One of those "Watford are among a number of clubs tracking..." reports which generally indicates it's a load of horseshit. We don't do bidding wars, and given that the report also says Bournemouth, Reading and Brentford are interested pretty sure we can file this under 'never going to happen'.

There ain’t gonna be a striker coming in without at least one going out first (probably two including Murray seeing as he can’t get into an FA Cup squad with 9 named subs)

In addition to signing Chair, we're on the look out for Deck, Pipe and Slipper as a midfield quartet. This is will fit in nicely with the club's annual end season collapse.

Forum favourite Harry Pickering supposedly available for around 500k, which is an absolute steal. Blackburn have been heavily linked. I thought Masina looked pretty good against United so I don't think a new LB is our most pressing need, but at that price Pickering is definitely worth bringing in. He's the most creative player in L1, from LB.

Not getting a semi competent Striker (and we won’t) will be the footballing equivalent of Gino packing the nations entire vaccine stock into an HGV and reversing it off of Beachy Head.
