What about Jon Kongos, She's Gonna Step on You Again, later a hit for Happy Mondays as Step On?

His kids also had a hit with Come With Me Now

I'm watching BBC 4 and reminded that Norman Greenbaum's hit spawned 2 OHWs, as Doctor and the Medics also had a hit with it.

So did Gareth Gates, but he had multiple hits, including being the 4th distinct act to have a no.1 with Unchained Melody.

I’m going to roll the dice and go Flat Eric or it feels like cheating - Gary Plumley as 1 hit wonders.

There was no such artist as 'Flat Eric'... I presume Mr Oizo is the artist you're trying to get at?

I think it's a tad unfair to classify him as a one-hit wonder as he still produced quite a lot of successful underground dance tracks for the labels Ed Banger and F Communications; it was more a rare occurrence that such a purely instrumental electronic track as 'Flat Beat' became so widespread to begin with. He had a track a few years ago with Charli XCX that did quite well also.

Also co-wrote and sang backing vocals on the 2nd spice girls hit. Not commonly known.

It was round about the time he had that season as first choice left back at Oldham and had a walk on part in that Tom Cruise movie.

James were great and definitely not one hit wonders.

Spaceman by Babylon Zoo was certainly a one hit wonder - decent song though.

Was just mucking about. Never heard of the guy you were discussing and felt a bit left out so I thought I’d add the time as spice girls backing singer, Sheff Utd left back and extra in Tom Cruise film in to fill out his CV a little more. Sorry.

Ah this guy from Wiki ?
"Oizo ([məsjø wazo]), is a French filmmaker, electronic musician, and DJ. Dupieux uses his full name for his filmmaking career, Mr. Oizo being only used for his musical career, including a stint as backing singer to the Spice Girls on their second hit "Say you'll be there". He also had a career as a professional footballer for Sheffield United before a brief acting career including a walk on part in the film Mission Impossible II."

    Oh yeah, he's basically a Gerard Depardieu/Yoann Barbet/Serge Gainsbourg/Daft Punk hybrid.

Dancing in the Moonlight is, I think, the most repetitive song I’ve ever heard.

    (A) it was The Vapors, no ‘u’.
    (B) They had another fantastic record, News atTen. Scandalously only made no. 44. One of my all time faves.
    (C) Jilted John is John Shulltleworth (Graham Fellows) of R4 fame. Literally you can claim that one but it is all part of a broader “comedy persona”. See also The Hee Bee Gee Bees (Angus Deayton), Morris Minor and The Majors (Tony Hawks) etc.

I will have to have a chat with my brother. He was 6 years older than me so I was heavily influenced by him and what he listened to, his memory on all things 70's and early 80's music is mental. But as soon as you said the Hes Bee Gee Bees something clicked. I had no idea it was the same fella.
