Breaking stories that Everton now want Bielsa. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...va-Premier-League-Farhad-Moshiri-Championship https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/everton-eye-leeds-marcelo-bielsa-13974915 I guess Leeds are the next club Everton want to destabilise. Everton's owners are just a bunch of c***s
Did you write this blog? Seems to have made the exact same points as you! www.vicbait.wordpress.com/2019/02/09/jose-holeboss/
Indeed, walked with family between the red lion and the cemetery between the coaches, now feel incredibly lucky to have cut across to the main group instead of being in that situation at 5pm.
Love them but Fozzie? I still like Big Ben, I remember the Super Ben chant when he saved Everton's penalty at Goodison earlier. Either is fine though.
This would be a significant upgrade for Everton. Maybe a straight swap of managers is possible. One more reason to love Leeds.
Murphy on MOTD thinks the corner given in error leading to the goal somehow justifies Zouma''s behaviour towards the ref. Yet lack of discipline is a sign of a Silva team. (Remember the number of sending offs we got last year under his management?) I didn't see Deeney or anyone else putting their face in the ref''s face when Richarlison scored the goal earlier this season which was clearly offside.
Murphy is the thinking man’s Robbie Savage. Struggles to apply any sense of proportion or logic to his analytical process. I suspect he experiences that sensation where you hear yourself saying something quite often.
With my right big toe joint ravaged with excruciatingly debilitating and painful gout, tearing a gigantic hole in my soul with each and every torturous step, I was understandably hesitant about making the trip for this one. But it's 250 mile round trips like today that justify and make worthwhile 250 mile round trips to horrendous games like Burnley at home a few weeks ago. Ssssssuper result and and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Murphy's comment was bizarre and devoid of logic. Zouma was just stupid. Probert thinks he is the new Clattenburg and wants to make his mark. Who cares...we won!
Cracking win in a tentative game. It was like watching two teams not wanting to lose at times. Everton controlled the first half with their three man midfield and we looked hopeless in the final third. Deeney in particular could not pass to a yellow shirt if his life depended on it. We moved Hughes inside for the last ten minutes of the half and looked better for it. For all their possession they hardly threatened at all. We should have arguably been one up had Vapour's shot not been so sweetly struck. We then bought Gray on and all of a sudden we looked a far more menacing team. The corner we scored from did not look like a corner at all from my seat in the Rookery but I will take it. A lovely pass from Cathcart and the rest is history. Silva showed his 'tactical awareness' by putting on every winger known to man in the hope that they would score like a five year old playing FIFA. In fact he helped us by taking off the impressive Gomes who was running their midfield not long before we started putting our stamp on the game. Richarlison was so poor and spent most of his time rolling around after a few firm tackles. I didn't agree with most of the booing of him however watching the vast majority of the stadium waving him off when he was subbed was superb. Probert was absolutely woeful today, should have given Keane a yellow card for pulling back Duelofeu in the first half when we were breaking and a few more in the second including the blatant hand ball that was given. He was probably saving all his cards for Valentine's Day, it would explain the new hair do. It was a mundane win made special by the occasion and what a feeling it was. We showed the footballing world what a fraud that snake is. A flash watch does not maketh the man. On a side note, there was a Scouser sat behind us in the Rookery. A young lad in his late teens early twenties who was no bother at all. It does beg the question, how did he get the ticket?
I'm prepared to make an exception to any rule where Leeds are the club being mucked around. God speed Moshiri.
Apologies if it’s already been mentioned but Emma Saunders was on The Totally Football Podcast on Friday. They were trying to come up with snake themed songs to work into the match day playlist as the bloke she does the announcing with plays it off his laptop.
Thing is, I have zero sympathy with Zouma and Everton in this circumstance, because once the set piece is given you defend it. We scored from the 2nd or 3rd phase so they had ample opportunity to clear their lines. They also had opportunities to score subsequently, just as we did after Richarlisons's offside goal, the difference being we got on with it and put our chances away. The only people they should be blaming is themselves.
Bravo, Gareth. He showed more leadership on the pitch than anyone from Everton. Good to see him unleashed.
Probert is such a weird referee. He's overly fussy half the time but then lets other things go that he's clearly seen. He was terrible for both teams yesterday but in particular: he let a volley of foul mouthed dissent from Pickford go just before our goal, let Tosun do likewise to a linesman for correctly flagging him offside, let Digne blatantly kick the ball away and off the pitch and allowed Zouma to do the waving of the imaginary card thing that I thought was an automatic yellow?
Is it confirmed that the two lads who got filled in were hurling regional insults at a big group of Everton fans? I don't condone ultra violence but how dim do you have to be to do that unless you are a highly trained killing machine? While with your son too. Most watford fans at a home game are not going to leap to your defence. It's almost highgrade-esque in its stupidity. Edit , nevermind just seen the other thread about this
I must say that I find the footage of GT making his cramp comment in the pre match film more moving than any of the goals. He’s speaking to himself, reasserting one of his central values.
Yes, exactly. And when Holebas does his usual Greek monologue at the Lino, a yellow card predictably ensues. Maybe it’s his expression, but sometimes I think the law must have been secretly changed, so that only he can now be penalised for this offence. He still really needs to wise up a bit, though: he must realise that officials have his number.
A "clean sheet" is something which the team, not only the gk, is standardly said to have earned - e.g. at the end of matches it is not uncommon to hear players or managers say "it was good to get a win, and a clean sheet was a bonus", or |we were plessed to get the three points, but disappointed to concede late on and not get a clean sheet". CBs in particular will also place a high priority on getting a clean sheet.
..and then booked Holebas for what looked like a fairly calm and reserved questioning of the linesman?
