Asprilla on the bench and TDB at right back - I'm with the gloomsters, my only consolation being that Norwich are my second team (Norfolk un good, as we say).

I think the manager has done well to get such a thin squad to February with so few injuries. Dele-Bashiru filling in at right back is a reasonable strategy as it gives the opportunity to bring on Andrews in 2 positions and DB can then either come off or move to midfield, it gives him options, particularly when he is trying to keep as many fit as possible and be competitive.

Exactly the kind of brilliant seat-of-our-pants ducking and diving we absolutely want to have to be engaging in, fully justifying our decision not to reinforce any of the positions that desperately needed it in any way whatsoever during the recent month in which transfers were allowed :)

Yeah, the calls against Ismael aren’t going to stop after tonight.

I like him. And we should definitely keep him.

But he can’t drill this lot to defend to save his life. And his stubbornness in the window hasn’t helped his cause. At some point he has to put Dennis in from the start and hope he lasts.

I think we will stick with him as we have kinda set our stall out - but we are entering a territory where Gino may twist with some wild belief that another manager could get us up this season.

I think Ismael is a perhaps a hammering away from the chop - and it’s looking more likely with every game.

Good job Ismael kept such a tight leash on the squad in January.

I really like your posts and I respect your input to this forum a lot.

However, I’ve never liked Ismael and this goes back to his Barnsley and WBA days. Very limited manager who always sees a decent upturn in results before it falls apart.

What is different here, other than the obvious neglect in January from the powers that be?

Somehow, despite my distaste for him? I find myself somewhere in the middle. What I will say is I’ve seen managers sacked for much, much less.

How many different ways are Sky going to make it hard to find a match on Red button. Only just found it - a goal down and now two.!
We simply look like and play like a team on the verge of relegation from the start of every match. No confidence, they clearly don't believe in themselves...
Val needs to find a "way to play" that this average bunch of footballers understand and are comfortable with coz right now we're very poor...

Don’t disagree. I guess it’s just my ‘I don’t want to sack yet another manager’ spidey senses kicking in.

And I really, really don’t think we have a squad that’s built to be doing any better than it currently is. So I don’t place a huge price on the manager as being at fault (right now).

My main concern is that he came out after Southampton in the cup and said we are ‘tired’. Well that’s on no one else really apart from him. But before we looked like we were doing the right thing tactically, just lethargically, when losing. Now we seem both lethargic and tactically poor.

We could have conceivably been winning 3-2 at half time, not out of this game.

We'll it used to be easy. Then they changed it so you have to through the main Sport / Football side bars. Now you go into a game hit red bottom and another match is shown in top right corner... You click on that box and page right to see the other games available...
