Each day that passes without confirmation gives me increased hope it won’t happen.

 

Adam Leventhal has confirmed it's a done deal. People need to accept that Fletch is now a Hornet.

 

I suspect it's not going to be announced until his current Boro contract is up, which is the end of June.

Yep. I swear Warnock said they weren’t going to play and were leaving so saw no point in having them around the place - Assombalonga already had a deal lined up he said.

Although whether them leaving Boro early means they were free to go where they wanted with immediate effect, who knows. Not always the case.

Just checked on Wiki. Didn't realise that DF played for us in the prem league and has 6 ROI caps.

 

I seem to remember the first time we got to the PL under GT, our 2 summer signings were Dominic Foley and Des Lyttle - both on a free. We didn’t spend any money.

 

Didn't he go on to be somewhat prolific for Cercle Bruges in his latter years?

 

Yes just didn't remember him getting on the pitch in the prem.

So basically Dom Foley was a player many Watford fans view as crap but he also has the Belgian goalscoring stats that would tempt the Pozxo's into making a £5-7 million pound investment on 5 year contract!

 

Although we did splash out a mil on Nordin 'on the road to nowhere' Wooter and half a mil on Charlie 'I'm good when Im not drunk, but im never not drunk' Miller. Having said that signing H was a masterstroke.

 

Yes remember Charlie Miller well. He was a cracking player but didn’t wear the Watford shirt very often, predominantly because they could never find one to fit him

Bumped into Charlie Miller once, funnily enough it was in a pub. He was out with Steve Palmer and Neil Cox and was smoking.

I heard smooth talking Palmer say to a group of girls "go on, guess which club I play for".

 

Another woeful striker to add to the mounting, festering dung pile. Good stuff.

 

A bench upgrade on Success, Perica, and probably Gray, and a better plan B than any of them

Just not clear what plan A is yet.... I'm all for giving JP a shot, but it's risky to rely on a 19 yo still developing

Apart from the fact his record is worse than Gray in every respect, he’s cheaper though so that’s the important thing.

 

A wheelbarrow has a worse record than Gray in every respect, but I'd still rather start a wheelbarrow up front than Gray.

Whilst funny, that’s totally illogical. We signed Gray at the same age as we’ve signed Fletcher.

By that age Gray had scored 25+ in a season in the championship and 10+ in a season in the Premier league.

Fletcher hasn’t even come remotely close to that. Gray is an awful footballer, but the facts suggest Fletcher is a significantly more awful footballer.

 

Can’t wait for him to bag a hat-trick in the opening game as we storm to a 4-0 win over Arsenal.
