If we only get three points from the next 3 games we will at worst case go into the brentford game level on points. Thats if they win all 5 of their games to that point. Which they won't.
Made an unbelievable tackle when I was certain he'd either get sent off, give away a penalty or both. Gets huge credit for that. Thought that both of our dodgiest performers were incidentally the two who went off injured. After that it was a stroll.
Pedro is gonna get a van now thanks to Sky grassing in the post game analysis He could perhaps do with some time out of the side tbf
Way way too big headed of them to think losing to us was because they had an off day. I think we pick them off on the break quite comfortably at Carrow Road.
This team is far from the finished article and it’s true we have some players who probably won’t cut it week in, week out in the PL and questions remain about the Head Coach’s ability to dine at the top table too, even if he gets his coaching licence... BUT Right now they are doing all we could ever have asked of them. They are giving us all exactly what we could only dream about a few weeks ago. 22 points from 24. We now sit 12 points clear of the chasing pack. Promotion is within touching difference. Our Head Coach wins Manager of the Month. Tonight at times we played some breathless and exciting football. The sort we couldn’t imagine when Ivic was boring us all to sleep. And those two goals..wow! These past two months have been among the best in my five decades of supporting us. We’ve come from almost nowhere to be on the verge of automatic promotion with five matches still to play. Everybody must react to a match as they wish, but I must admit I fail to understand those who aren’t totally excited by our club right now and who still see the shortcomings ahead of all the many positives. We had ONE aim at the start of this season. It was made tougher by having to sell the likes of Doucoure, Capoue, Deulofeu, Welbeck etc and by not having any money to spend ourselves. And by having a whole season without a proper paying crowd. Yet we are now so so close to achieving that aim. Vamos Watford.
A weird experience for Bachmann, some actual serious saves to make! Probably his best game in a Watford shirt, did very well to close them down when they got in, and held that fierce shot towards the end very well when others would have parried
Bachmann showed better signs commanding his box tonight. Tentative steps though and does get caught out when judging a packed box, but I think compared to how he started there are improvements now.
Great couple of goals. Close to securing promotion so happy days. Lucky to win that one though. Couple of the Reading players looked class and were very enjoyable watching them play. Probably out of our price range even with us going up?
So happy, how we managed the game in the second half. Sanchez proved me wrong. Never thought he was up to speed. So happy to be proved wrong "We all are the gladiators, not just Sarr" Oh Justin Rose is looking good in Augusta!
We’ve now taken points off 22 of the 23 sides we’ve faced this season. Just need to avoid defeat on the final day of the season to complete the set.
Think he will be playing premier league football one way or another next season. Would be a great addition but I imagine he will be out of our price range Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They have to play each other, hope for their sake they were keeping their shooting boots safe for that game tonight! Surely they can't be so profligate again, you'd fear for Swansea looking at that performance!
Apparently the Reading manager and him had a bit of a falling out over his refusal to sign a new contract. His contract expires next summer. If reports are to be believed, he has an £8mil release clause, that’s why Reading are desperate for him to sign a new one. Worth way more than that. Would love us to sign him, but at that price he will have better offers than us.
It's very possible that nobody will reach our total now, I think I can allow myself to come out from behind the sofa now (apart from against the scum of course!)
In fairness to Chalobah, he wasn't moving freely for a fair chunk of that first half, no such excuse available to WTE who looked shaky long before he was forced off!
We're nearly there now. That win was massive. Premier League finishing from Sarr, then we rode our luck. Thought one or two were off it tonight, but as we've done so often, we found a way to win. It's all about the results. I just think we've had so many things go for us this season, that the football gods are on our side this season. It won't last, as it never does, but this has been a season where we've had the rub of the green for sure. It's so important in a promotion season. It would be a screw up of epic proportions to not get promoted now. Let's hope Swansea and Brentford have another cough in them tomorrow to virtually seal the deal.
Well done. Well done Xisco for the introduction of Sanchez,he shut the game down very well. Well done Freddie, two super goals at just a great time. Well done me,for finally at 10.18pm having my supper, too nervous before and during the game. Olise will play in the PL next season whatever Reading do. I did, like many of us think given the way the results have fallen of late that this was a pivotal moment. Reading looked sprightly and their match at home to Swansea will be very important. You can see Swansea missing out altogether now. Happy weekend everyone. Somebody cue, very quietly but cue anyway Mary Hopkin...
If we go up and Reading don't, how much do you think they would want for Olise? Like Sarr he's far too good for this league and won't be in it next season.
I tried to read that but gave up when they spent two pages arguing about the technicalities of exactly which match they’re likely to be crowned champions..
An excellent 2nd half after the rocky end to the first. Controlled the game well and could have scored more. Kiko, Hughes, Sarr Masina and Sanchez when he came on very good. Feet up and now hope PNE can do the business again.
What a huge result, if not convincing performance. What it DOES convince, however, is that even not at our best, we aren't gonna get zero points from our remaining games, and that means we won't be caught. Brentford amd Swansea won't get more than 12-14 points from their remaining games, so we're nearly there and we WILL get there. I'm certain of it. I'll admit, 4 months ago, I didn't see it, but we are going up. Then the time for root and branch changes, because aside from Hughes and Sierrelta, possibly Chalobah and maybe JP, none of the rest of these should be starting next season.
Played 41 points 82 that’s exactly 2 points per game, we are on a fantastic run and people still moan saying we aren’t playing well, doesn’t say much for all of the teams that we are beating, I will take not playing well and taking 35 out of 38 points anytime! people saying if we draw the next three games, why are we going to start drawing games all the time, I don’t get it, give the team some credit the above stats speak for themselves!
Hard to say. With a year of no gate attendance, methinks some clubs are going to have to sell sell sell this summer to make up for the shortfall. Could be a great time to get promoted.
As a team likely to be promoted we are naturally in the market for additions for the new season. It is only ever going to be a buyers market next season, even more so than this season. Like you say the ideal time to be promoted.
