How about Howard The Duck. He would get our players to fight like animals. He would also make Dan Gosling feel at home. However, Deeney would forever be licking his lips, ready to stuff him into pancakes.

Yer, Scout Job Week, or Bob-A-Job week if you really want to be old school or in Gray's case that's 1.4 Million Bob-A-Job week.

The Grand Howl will be replicated once when the teams are announced and then again at final whistle to the inevitable defeat to the Chorleywood Brownies.

    (70,000 * 20 = 1.4 million bobs a week)

Yes, maybe I was being a little harsh. Maybe because we had just been promoted some of the clubs didn't really take us seriously enough and were too complacent, the Liverpool game being a prime example. We were also really unlucky against Spurs and Manchester City at home and Manchester United away and on another day would've won those games. However, for the last third of the season, once we were more or less safe and Flores got distracted/bored with us, the wheels really started to squeak and loosen. Those piss poor January window signings (yet again), dreadful FA Cup semi-final defeat to Palace, and playing his favourites week in week out contributed to the start of the general malaise which we now find ourselves in.

Yer and also get John Lydon, Steve Jones and Glenn Matlock in so they can reform the Sex Pistols. Never Mind the B0ll0cks it's just another press interview, The Great Rock n Pozzo Swindle, Pretty Soon To Be Vacant, Liar, Anarchy In The Boardroom, and many many more.

We haven’t had a good January transfer window since 2014-15 (the way our seasons have panned out during the last few months is testimony to that), and apart from Deulofeu (who scored against Chelsea but didn’t really become an integral part of the team until the following season) I’m struggling to recall one actual good player we signed during that period to play in our team right away. Pretty pathetic really, even for a club our size.

Don’t forget the time he miscontrolled the ball so badly in the center circle, it ended up as a through ball for the opposition striker.

Possibly the same game you’re talking about now I think about it.

    Solid afternoons work for him.

So Munoz reveals the lack of intensity is his fault because he didn't tell them to run around before the game.
This is just basic stuff. How on earth are the players meant to know to put in some effort and earn their wages if the manager doesn't tell them to every single game?
It's all falling into place now. He obviously didn't tell Gray to score either, just like Ivic, Pearson, Flores and Garcia didn't.
He needs sacking. If my manager failed to do something as routine as telling me to do my job at the start of every day, he'd get fired for me twiddling my thumbs.

I’m not one for deep analysis, but such was the tepid nature of this and so may recent games, along with the same confusing formation, same templated subs each game and utter feeling of maialise. That i had decided ‘no more hive games’, then a quick check and see we are sky for our next 6 games!? (Including ‘red button’).

but yeah, that was rubbish wasnt it.

It's just embarrassing at this stage, we really need someone to build with for the next few years, but that doesn't mean any old sap from the Georgian league is going to be that guy...Ivic was a dull ****, and the players didn't warm to him, but at least he has some tactical nous about him

True though. We'd have won with Garner in the side. All we were missing was a few sideways passes.

Statistically very few sides go straight back up. An analysis 6 months ago showed it's only about 1 in 4 over the last 10 years.
We can have a clear out but would need to find the money to pay off Deeney and Gray etc. All new signings would be FTs and loans.
This is the situation we find ourselves in. It takes a while for a club like ours to re-adapt to our natural position of bottom half of the champ.

  14. Deeney and Gray are a millstone around this clubs neck, can’t afford to pay them, can’t sell them, and neither do their job. We can’t rebuild until they are gone.

This summer will be a fire sale. Expect to lose a minimum of Sarr, JP, Hughes, Chalobah and Femenia. We haven’t touched bottom yet.

We lost as soon as the team sheet was announced. Playing a CM on the wing is asking for trouble at any level and will leave the team woefully unbalanced.

Navarro is honestly a pub league player. Positioning is horrendous at all times and often taking 40 yard pops at goal then looks around with a puzzled look on his face. He never seems like he’s taking it seriously. I thought Ngakia was decent actually, although out of position again especially on the left side is leaving that entire flank exposed because it only takes one mistake and then that’s it. Serialta is a very good defender and he will continue to grow as a player, I loved his runs forward with the ball and aggressive style of defending. We’ve missed someone like that for years. On the other hand I do not rate TE at all, he’s got a mistake in him every-time he plays. His mistimed jump for the first was Sunday league stuff.

Tbh though I stopped caring years ago, I don’t feel excited when we score, I don’t feel sad when we lose. Never thought I’d say that because I used to love watching us play, even when we were broke and had a squad consisting of Scottish league players and youth products. I’m happy to wait it out a few years in the Championship to get rid of all the dead wood, get rid of Sarr Deeney and Gray and start over again. I’m not desperate to get back to the premier league because I hated it for the most part and my enjoyment from football started to dwindle for the first time in my life from QSF first season in charge. Sacking off half our promotion squad and replacing them with the likes of Oloure, Diamanté and Ibarbo really hit a nerve with me and summed up this club. But hey that’s the Pozzos model so we should be happy right?

Funny you say about your son is going off The Horns, as it actually crossed my mind last night that maybe I should lay off the indoctrination of my two grandsons, one aged two in April and the other aged 4 in June.

I have been intending to buy them both season tickets when they are a little older and we are all on the waiting list for The family stand for when we are able to start going back to games. However I have serious doubts about that right now, hopefully the team will force me to change my mind or possibly my ingrained loyalty might do that for me, but the way I feel right now I am just not sure it will :(

Strange team selection from the off today but less face facts the game today highlighted all our failings this season.

    1) The more established higher earners simply aren't performing.
    2) There appears to be no heart literally anywhere. Where the hell is the passion? Qpr wanted it much, much more than us.
    3) Simply not good enough squad depth. Navarro is limited and the left back situation still hasn't been addressed.
    4) If the board feel that this squad is good enough then they are living in cloud cuckoo land.
    5) Munoz out of his depth today, hopefully he'll learn from it.

I absolutely agree about the lack of heart. It doesn't matter how many times you tune into one of our games this season. It's the same passionless tepid performance every single time from the off. It's like they don't give a ****!

Well there is at least one positive from last night’s shambles, we have got the game out of the way a day earlier than everyone else. I’ve had my sleepless angry night wondering why I bother, and can now get on with the rest of my week without the thought of another game lurking like a menacing black cloud. We are really hard to like let alone love at the moment.

If he played it with Sema/Zinc on the left, and with Femenia & Masina back. We could potentially play well enough to scrape some wins together. With Hughes out on the left, and flippin Navarro right back, there is nowhere near enough attacking threat.
It would still be mostly rancid football because the squad as a whole is rancid. But it's probably the best formation / team we can cobble together.

I agree. Munoz has probably got to go. His pre and post match interviews are a bit embarrassing. I don't blame him for his basic English and that will improve in time, but he just talks gibberish. He gives me no confidence that he actually knows what he's doing. Sure, the players like him and enjoy training, and that is important, but he cannot be the top man. Assistant sure, he'd be a good one, but not the number one guy.

It's going to go downhill fast from here. I do not expect a bounce back on Saturday. We've had these lame performances all season. There is no pace or fluidity on our play. No collective joined up thinking. We've not improve on what Ivic was doing, but at least he appeared to have a plan and knew what he wanted to achieve. I don't think Munoz has much of an idea. He's a nice guy and upbeat, but you need more than that. The players have to fear you a little bit too. I still think Joka would get us promoted if we got him back.

But, after this transfer window, where all deficiencies were again ignored, we're not going up, so there's little point in putting too much effort into it. We're not going down, so at least there's that small mercy of not dropping like a stone as Sunderland did. This is where the Pozzo's have taken us though. Full circle.

What I don't get is if we're stuck with Deeney and Gray and can't afford a new striker, why did they weaken our striker options even further by getting rid of Murray? Don't get me wrong, I thought signing him on loan was another big mistake by the board but at least once he was here he was an option on the bench. If we're 1-0 down with 10 or 15 minutes left and we're looking clueless up front (as usual), why not give him a go with nothing to lose? We don't even have that now, unless we expecting sick notes Success and Perica to be our saviours when they're fit (whenever that will be). Shambles from top to bottom.

Absolutely zero point in sacking this coach unless they've decided to get the best coach available and pay accordingly.

Like Leeds did when they'd had enough of mediocrity.

  28. Any formation can be defensive or offensive. Look how Zola played 352.

The key point is Xisco chose a 442 formation and then shoe horned in players out of position. And we wonder why it went badly wrong. It’s completely the wrong way around.

He should have looked at the players he had, at the opposition, and gone from there.

Awful set up. Woeful effort all round. Ngakia the new boo boy while Captain Penalty gets another let off because he can blast them in.

Unlikeable team with owners becoming more and more detached. Granada were lucky to get bought out before the rot really set in for them. Mind you we asset stripped there gems and they mostly turned out rubbish for us!

If we are as skint as it seems keeping Sarr im some far fetched idea of promotion this year is laughably insane. If we don't go up he will go for peanuts as will Pedro and Cucho.

Imagine next season with a midfield of Gosling, Cleverley and Deeney with Gray up front in his own......

Having slept on it i am not going to blame the strikers for the bad result. Xisco set the team up incorrectly by having no width on the left. This meant QPR only had Sarr on the right to worry about so the strikers didnt get enough service from both sides. To Sarr's credit he won the penalty which shows his importance to us despite some saying he shouldnt be here as he can make something happen when others can't. There wasn't enough pressing when they had the ball as well - we gave them too much respect/time on the ball. If we dont have the ball we can't attack. I dont know if these were Xisco instructions or players just not performing. We also had an evening where Ekong had a mare. Not a lot Xisco could do about errors like that. Overall it was Xisco's and Ekong's fault we lost last night. Team selection and lack of press (if that was his instructions), and costly errors during play.
