So Ivic has decided to adopt the lethargic, ponderous and ineffective play from our away performances for our home games now. Brilliant.
An absolutely disgraceful performance. Deeney and Garner in particular absolutely shameful performances. Referee appalling both ways. One of the worst I have seen. Ivic is inept tactically, does not inspire the team and does not make the best use of the squad. I can’t stand our incompetent owners but one thing they are good at is sacking managers. They need Ivic gone today to have any chance of saving this season. If this substandard manager remains in place over Christmas the season is gone. Ivic out.
The ref is a complete poseur so it's a surprise he is not siding with some of our players. Too many are going through the motions and not busting a gut. No point getting it wide if there is,at most, one attacker in the area. Too many pass out of play or to the opposition. Very little of this is Ivic's fault. He has told us how he wants the team to play they are just refusing to do it. Stupid mismanagement over the summer where player power ruled supreme and now the players know they can do(or not)whatever they want. Games every 3-4 days mean you cannot change all the players you need to so this is likely to continue. Kiko did well when he came on,although JN was ok in the first half. Cardiff are an old fashioned team.Very big and rely on set pieces.Fall over at every opportunity but the players follow the game plan and put the effort in. The players won't change so we need to ship 5-6 of them out in January and reinvigorate the squad. By far the worst performance of the season.
Any manager would have struggled to keep up a side in the PL with Troy leading the line, and any manager will struggle getting us promoted with Troy leading the line. Against any half-decent opposition he's useless. I feel most sorry for Sarr, putting in quality ball after quality ball across the face of the goal-line with Troy just walking down the pitch, nowhere near the goal, blowing out his fat ar5e, waving his arms about. Kieffer Moore is another Champ striker who puts Troy to shame. Always on the move, winning headers, controlling the ball and bringing his teammates in to play; a constant threat. Only cost Cardiff 2mil in the summer as well. Ultimately the CFs were the difference. It's very difficult for us to play quickly with Troy up front. JP's lack of presence also doesn't help. We can build a good squad all over the pitch, but while we have such a lack of sharpness and movement up front it's unsurprising we struggle to score and win games. Can you also blame Ivic for Garner's poor set-piece deliveries today? The only positive from that is Hughes looked decent when he came on. Oh, and did the fans jinx us?
If you look at the managers who've been sacked by the Pozzos how many actually deserved it? Dyche (mid table finish in very difficult circumstances) QSF (threadbare squad) Mazarri (injury crisis) and Javi (keeping us up/cup final/then shafted with Dawson, blocking player bonuses and a star player that didnt fit his system) all performed miracles. Sanino had us riding high in the league when he was sacked Joka was sacked after getting us promoted. Pearson after turning round our season. Only Zola, Silva and QSF 2nd time really deserved to be sacked. Is it really Ivic's fault that the players are undeperforming AGAIN under yet another manager, to me it looks like a more institutional problem in the club. We need to stop sacking managers and start holding the players accountable.
Awful referee but awful football from a terrible manager. Wedded to 3-5-2. Bizarre substitutions. Still does not realize Pedro cannot play a CF role. No Perica. Quina to play at left back ? Zero urgency until late on. So negative aside from Wilmot surging forward. Just backwards and sideways. reids predicted how the goal would come. A knock down from exactly the sort of delivery he mentioned on his chart. Deeney appalling. Never once on the end of a cross like Kiko played in. Barely moving when Hughes was in possession. No desire to return to two at the back and perhaps play someone in the hole like Quina. Sole credit to Wilmot, Kiko, Quina and Sarr although he must learn to stay on his feet. The rest need a shoeing. Sluggish and lethargic. Ivic needs replacing or the player power with the return of Deeney needs to be destroyed. We are in a mess. No way we get promoted. Norwich and the cheats are hitting form. We will be mid table mediocrities which is where we deserve to be. Look at Cardiff's away record. Hardly stellar. But we contrive to repeat our away performances at home and to be honest we are fortunate where we are anyway although no doubt manat and others will defend the hierarchy to the hilt. We are a third of the way into the season let us not forget. Utterly appalling. Steve Terry club legend. Shame we have not got the same hunger, skill and nowse as we did with GT:
'Very little of this is Ivic's fault...' Utter nonsense. He's the manager. The buck stops with him. The players aren't motivated by him, it's beyond obvious. Far too slow tactically. Questionable change of shape back to 3 CB's again as well. There's so much wrong with what he's doing and it's getting worse.
Did the Cardiff goalkeeper actually make a save the whole game? No. Really awful. This has been the norm rather than the exception.Looks like the Preston game was a one off.
Felt a bit emotional at the start seeing fans back at the vic. Then the emotion was drained out of my soul watching us play 5 yard horizontal balls across the defence. It’s like watching England play under Sven in 2004. For me though, we’ve been through too many managers for them to be the root cause. The player culture has stank for a long time now. Body language is appalling. 3 set pieces in the last few minutes and each one fluffed again only for garner / Quina to shrug it off and trudge back to the half way line.
Deeney Deeney Deeney!! Our leader, hero, legend, talisman and god. Led us out of the PL last season and now after returning from injury leads us out of the top 6. Is Ivic really too scared to substitute him?
Deeney was absolutely awful, like he and Andre Gray are in a death spiral of who can be the worst. Decent balls in from Kiko, Garner, Sarr and Ngakia that he was nowhere near. He actually hindered us by being on the pitch today - 0 shots, 0 dribbles (obviously!), lost almost every header. The terrible performance is one thing but his attitude is even worse. Constantly complaining at team mates that are performing better than him. He looks exactly the same level of player as last season even though we've gone down a division i.e. not good enough. Still, at least he'll say something moronic on TalkSport on Monday.
If we can get results when we’re performing badly just think how high in the table we’ll be doing when we start playi... oh.
Hive live. No interviews. No analysis. Off air as soon as possible. They couldn't wait to get off and away. How on earth do you defend that performance?
Bad. Every promotion season has that one bad 0-1, let’s hope this was ours. As an aside, if Nigel Pearson was still our manager we would be 8 points clear at the top currently.
It's the managers job to hold the players accountable - and they are putting worse and worse performances in, simple as that. They aren't playing for him and clearly aren't scared of any reaction from him either. The Pozzo's have shown they aren't scared to pull the trigger - and at this level, they've shown it can get your promoted. We all want a long-term manager - but it has to be one you can see yourselves having a long-term future under too...this guy ain't that.
Free kicks at the end summed it all up. Wasted, ineffective and no threat. I mean did we test the keeper ? Too slow on the ball and made it easy for Cardiff.
Who will be Ivic's replacement then? I'll go for either an unknown Italian journeyman, or defensive coach.
Bet they're glad that got tickets for that footballing delight. Its getting harder and harder to watch. Cardiff, ok they have their style that works for them. We on the other hand have no style at all, I'm still confused of what we're trying to attempt.
Just received an email from the club saying I've got tickets for Tuesday.... I want to cry.... Awful awful game. What else can we say? The players are an utterly poisonous bunch and must be held accountable, but I think their many many flaws are just exacerbated by this manager. I feel very bad for the poor sods who had to stay behind after.... hope they give the players the verbals they deserve, the shower of c*nts.
Utter utter rubbish.... 1) no real attacking until 75th minute when it gets desperate, 2) no cohesion going forward until Hughes and Quina came on, 3) apart from the PNE game that's about 8 rubbish BORING performances on the trot. I won't be wasting my time or money until now until something major changes.! Vlad keeps saying one thing but the team do the opposite. Somethings not right, I reckon bye bye by New year tbh he just has no clue about the championship and we don't even do the basics well..... Why doesn't something change.!?!?!?!
This club have made so many mistakes over the past year or so, but in firstly appointing and then refusing to get rid of this absolute imbecile in charge of the first team sadly they are making their worst one of all. Today he’s lost the only saving grace he had left, the home form. With today’s pathetic, insipid, horrible showing at the Vic, to follow up so many of the same showings on the road, he doesn’t even have that to fall back on. The club are sleepwalking into oblivion unless a change is made now. We have now drawn blanks three times in the last four matches. Our football is dull. How many of us can truly say we are behind this team, that we feel excited by match days, that we feel confident we will get promotion this season? Laughable that two thousand fans today thought they’d won the lottery by getting tickets for today. Watching any side coached by the Serbian Southgate is more like an imposition. The recruitment has been laughable. The squad is not properly balanced. Too many players are still coasting. Conning us the fans, who deserve better. Too many people off the field of play are failing in their duties. And we have appointed a Head Coach so far out of his depth, it’s tragic. I’ve never felt more despondent, and I go back 45 years as a supporter. Get Eddie Howe before it’s truly too late.
Is Perica the ghost of Dave Bamber? Good of the ref to enter into the spirit of 'Rainbow Laces day' by dressing like he was going for an audition for a Village People tribute band
