No one has taken this preview so here is a very short one. Cardiff in decent form. Must win again at home to stay in touch with the leaders. Despite the exertions of two games a week, no preseason and such we need to show our undoubted quality on the pitch. Attack and keep attacking. Assume Troost in for Cathcart and perhaps Cleverly for Chalobah. Would like to see Perica and Deeney with Pedro and Sarr wide from the start. Good luck to all the fans inside the Vic. Behave yourselves ! I'm sure you all will.
Just remember to wear face masks too. Cardiff are the sort of side who can score early then do what we cannot - defend a one nil. However, our good home form is going to end eventually, and for some reason I think it's tomorrow. Our abject away performances are either down to Ivic's mentality or the Player's not giving a crap on their travels. If our home form ended, would we see results on the road? I of course do not want us to lose. We have 2000 Hornets cheering or booing them on tomorrow, and I would think that would be a motivator. All I know about Cardiff is we hammered them 5-1 away two seasons ago, and that Final Score presenter Jason Mohamed supports them. With Cathcart out, I agree Troost would be a good replacement, and maybe Deeney and Perica up front? Formation seems to be clicking now a bit too and let's hope Sarr doesn't have a sulk and stand on the halfway line all game. 0-1
Need to freshen up the midfield, not sure who’s available for selection but I hope to see a performance like the last home game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
With the Covid 3 still out, biggest decision is who replaces Chalobah. Ivic is very cautious about bringing injured players back so doubt Cleverley will play the full game. So boils down to: change formation, Dan Phillips or play Ben Wilmot there. Chalobah's passing has been so atrocious recently that I don't think we'd lose anything by playing Wilmot there so that'd be my choice.
I don't think his comments about rotation are a smokescreen so I expect several changes. WTE for CC,TC for NC,SP for TD and KKS for JP. Sooner or later the number of games will catch us out and we will lose.Let's hope it's not this weekend.
Must win game. WFC 0 Cardiff 2 Flying to Dubai today for a 1 week holiday so will try to follow whilst paying 100% attention to my wife over dinner tonight (Dubai 4 hrs ahead).
Was one of his better performances but they've been few and far between, still wouldn't have been in the MOTM reckoning for me.
Official site says that isolation is over, so just a case of whether they are fit enough. "TEAM NEWS Nathaniel Chalobah will miss this match after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season against Nottingham Forest. Adam Masina, Tom Cleverley and Will Hughes all returned to training earlier this week and may be considered for selection. The isolation period for players who returned positive COVID-19 tests has ended."
Masina, Cleverley and Hughes have trained all week, so I hope at least Cleverley will be in to replace Chalobah. The three COVID players (Sema, Capoue and Murray) will all be available for selection also. Will Mr Cautious throw Sema and Capoue straight back in? Time will tell. Another game we should win, but we'll have to be a lot better than Wednesday or else they'll turn us over for sure. I hope to see Hughes on the bench and Sema, Capoue and Cleverley starting. Probably too early for Masina to be included, but continue with the 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and I think we'll be ok.
I hope the fans who have tickets for tomorrow are cultivating their lucky vegetables today that they have been growing over lockdown.
Last time I trust the Watford Observer's reporting after they said they'd be out for this too... This is huge news. Foster Kiko Ngakia Kabasele T-E/Wilmot Sema Capoue Garner Sarr Deeney Perica Let's go for it! (This is assuming Hughes, Cleverley not fit to start from the off)
25 % of the population of Pontypandy were firemen, I think this is mainly due to Norman Price also being a resident. Should have just hired 1 fireman to follow him around all day and then had a normal amount at the station for the rest of the population
I expect Cleverley might be ahead of Capoue in the race for fitness given he was on the bench Wednesday. Can't see any of those who were out with Covid being in the starting line up after not training for so long. Interesting that the official website even says Masina 'may' be considered for selection. Hopefully that's true and he's well ahead of the February return schedule we were quoted.
This game worries me, Cardiff are a very, how should we put it, basic side, but they have Harry Wilson and a load of big men so they'll be a massive threat at set pieces...
I'm not at all jealous. Not a bit. Not even a tiny bit, or even a coronavirus size microscopic bit. No, not at all. No... Honest. Oh ****!
Hmmm.... should I pay for this. I've paid for most that haven't been on sky and spent the 90 minutes struggling to keep my eyes open. But then I didn't pay for the Preston game and Ivic told the team as much and they went and had 20 odd shots and scored 4 goals. Ivic - if you're reading this, I'm NOT going to pay so wont be watching, honestly, so crack on with the attacking.....
Agree on the whole, however I think I would give quina another go , wasn’t much cop against Forrest , but added something against PNE , and I still firmly believe we need a few people on the pitch prepared to have a go from outside of the box so we dont look so unpredictable. Capoue would have that unpredictability I guess. will be interesting to see us without Challobah who has been a liability , he isn’t awful but is definitely capable of a dreadful pass.
Capoue needed to help the defence against set pieces. Wilmot preferred to Troost when coming on late against Forest, does TE have a slight knock? With injuries/suspensions and the covid 3 may or may not be available (their isolation has ended but that doesn't guarantee they pass a covid test) we could be short of numbers in midfield so I think we might go back to 3 CB with wb's to counter Cardiff and 3m & 2s. All 5 subs to be used if possible. 3-2 Watford
Has anybody found it if they have tickets yet? I didn't apply but did for Tuesday and just wondered when people found out and how
I got an email to confirm I was in the ballot then late on Wednesday an email to confirm I was not successful. I expect to win one for a match before Xmas based on the odds.
Watford 6-1 Cardiff Watford over 3.5 goals is basically printing money. I expect Cardiff to get their goal from a corner, probably back post.
I can see Cardiff scoring from a corner, Neil Harris sides often attack the area in line with the back-post from corners - which is an area I think we leave far too open when defending corners. Kieffer Moore will have a field day attacking that area against our CBs. Here's all of Cardiffs corners that have ended in a goal/shot - let's see if we've done our homework...
