Yeah it's a strange one, because I know his contact is legit and the information hardly makes Palace look great, but it conflicts with everything we've heard and doesn't make much sense... EDIT - he said he thinks it's a bid to show the Palace fans they tried to sign someone...
If he stays, massive credit to the Pozzos for keeping one decent player. If he goes, massive credit to the Pozzos for getting him sold.
Yep. It's pretty obvious he's leaving. Massive salary increase and back to playing in the premier league. Him and his agent will be using every trick in the book to get this move. Culminating in the strike threat. He's gone, and I really worry for some people on here's sanity when he does. I accepted he was gone as soon as we were relegated. Still, at least we have the fond memories of this crap performances this season to cling on to (not that I saw them. You'd have to be off your rocker to watch any of this approximation of football. No fans, no football. It's really that simple).
I don't know what's worse. The fact that Palace are taking the piss with that bid? Or the fact Pozzo may just accept it?
Romano (who actually is accurate with what he says) claims there’s no chance Sarr leaves and he was never going for less than 50m euros. Price tag has remained the same and been given to both United and Palace. EPL clubs and Dortmund will continue to monitor him.
It's probably been like the old version when it used to end in March. Odd big deals but mainly loans and transfers between lower league clubs. Good job social media and the forums weren't around when you could just buy players when you liked!
Amazing Sarr, Capoue and Hughes are all staying. Great squad with the fantastic recruitment of Ngakia Troost and Garner plus the return of Wilmot and King Ken. Glad to see the back of turncoat Doucoure, Del the fanny merchant, Bobby Ponce and Pussyman. Shame we couldn't incorporate Dawson into the foundations of a new building project in Udine but at least we got the £w@t off our books for the season. Pity no fooker wanted Troy, probably too much to expect him to be humble and become a team/squad player this season. Our depth should make a big difference in a condensed 2 games a week season. Troy's ego is probably the single biggest threat to our season. I hope Ivic is the man to cut him down to size.
The year is 2030. Ismaila Sarr has been at Watford for 11 years, taking the absolute piss out of the Championship and Premier League the whole time, and wants to go back to his boyhood club in Senegal. 'I TOLD YOU HE WAS LEAVING!!!' fume the bedwetters on the forums
Doe Palace certainly were trying to strike a deal for Sarr, I’ve no idea of the money or terms discussed but on Wednesday morning I had a senior official from one of the clubs sitting opposite me involved in negotiating the deal (not with me of course but via email ( I was tempted to disconnect the Wi-fi)) I don’t claim to have sources or any more insider knowledge, this was an absolute one off occurrence. Fantastic he’s staying though.
He wasn't in the squad because he's still wandering around Croydon trying to find a massive greenhouse.
Not sure Palace would suit him under Hodgson. Be like when we had Flores. Defend and hope for the best.
I don't really get the point of Palace. They play turgid football, offer nothing to the league, I would argue they don't even have one interesting player (maybe Zaha, but I think he's massively overrated). When will their fans get bored of hiring the England old boys club who play horrible football, but grind out results (they're desperate for Dyche, and will hire him when he's available)?
They've taken the 3rd most points off top 6 teams in the last 5 years, only City and Liverpool have taken more. I do admit to finding it funny when we refer to other teams as playing turgid football and offering nothing to the league.
They've got results against the bigger sides because they play such turgid counter attacking football and are good at defending. I'm not saying we added loads to the league, I just think they're incredibly boring. The only entertaining Palace game I can remember watching is the 3-3 with Liverpool ages ago.
Van-Dijk’s injury could be a blessing for us as you’d imagine that any funds they have will have to go on replacing him in January now.
