Bournemouth apparently offering to take him on loan with us covering his wages. Wouldn’t be ideal but could be the best we can hope for.
Apparently they’re going to put in a good word with Iturbe as well and he’ll join as his replacement.
Sarr is staying!! Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal · 2m #WatfordFC transfer latest Understand Ismaila Sarr is expected to stay at club beyond today’s 5pm domestic deadline and plan is for him to play some part this evening against Derby. Situation unlikely to change even with late bid. With all the moaning amongst the fans, you have to accept (even if it doesn't fit your narrative), the club have done brilliantly to have kept hold of this player. They stuck to their guns on this one and it looks like it has paid off. Well done Watford.
I was just about to write a spoof AL ITK post, saying that it obviously looks like Sarr is staying, but looks like AL got there first.
YES! This is the big one. Huge credit to Gino and the team to not accept a loss on selling this player and standing their ground against all the rumours rather than solid bids. CHAMPIONS 20/21
Sarr is probably up there with Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota when it comes to ridiculously unfair advantages. No excuses now.
If he would just put in a performance to match 25% of his price tag HMS Piss the League can leave port
Christ - some people have short memories. Whatever happens the Pozzos have been great. Just think you have huge costs, you get relegated, Covid comes along, long fixed term contracts in place. How would you like it - they are not billionaires Give them a break
Well no excuses after tonight. Leventhal says he's 'likely to play some part' which probably means on the bench, not at all or a move to Palace. Each of which I fully back.
Here come Palace. Tw*ts. Wait till 3 hours before the deadline and bid half the asking price. https://twitter.com/samimokbel81_dm/status/1317084281441837059?s=21
Clearly their tactic is wait until they think Watford are absolutely desperate then make an insulting bid.....thinking we'd accept it. If any offers come in now, even if it meets the asking price, I'd tell all clubs to jog on. We've got no chance to replace him, so it's not going to happen. (hopefully)
It’s baffling: wait until 3 hours before the deadline and after the target’s club have briefed journalists that the player is staying put as it’s too late in the day etc to make a derisory offer. If he was their top target all summer (and I can’t recall Palace spending £30m+ on many players so I’m assuming he is), they should have come in early and with a reasonable bid.
Palace, like a gypsy at the end of a car boot sale trying to offer you 10p for everything while you pack up.
Don't think Sarr is getting enough credit for actually playing Championship football for us. He could have picked up a fuss when we went down, or when Liverpool came in, or when United came in, or even now and we'd have to sell but not a word. Has come back, got himself fit and is playing. His former team mates at Rennes are playing the Champions League. Genuinely what a ******* hero. Legend status if he takes us up. Has achieved far more in the game that Suarez or Estupian. Don't think in our wildest imaginations we could've seen him staying.
Palace just taking a punt on us being desperate for money and hoping we'll accept anything at this stage.
No idea how accurate, and you know all know i'm not a Pozzo basher, but a Palace friend of mine has boardroom contacts at Palace. He said Palace offered £24m, Watford would have accepted £28m for Sarr, but Palace weren't willing to pay the extra £4m. He knows his stuff with Palace, but surely not!? Maybe it was £28m up front with add ons or something.
