[NOT HAPPENING] Mario Balotelli

Nobody is taking this serious surely?

 

Until someone changes the thread's tag to 'not happening' anything can happen.

 

I made this suggestion on 24 July - don’t understand why it has taken so long. I still stand by what I said then

“Mario Balottelli. He would be brilliant in the Championship, speaks the language, better than a goal every two games. Better than Wrlbeck, Gray or Deeney. Drinks Baileys better than a Success and has a discipline record that Holebas would be envious of. I can’t see any downsides.“

 

Other than he's mad as a balloon?

 

As the days gone on, I’ve become more and more attracted to this idea. Every club wants a mercurial talent. Ivic and Ballotelli to be the clubs very own ‘Odd Couple’...

God knows it’s miserable round here presently. Get this done and liven things up a bit. If he’s sh*t and bankrupts us, so what? It’s nothing ‘Captain, Leader, Legend’ Deeney isn’t doing anyway. At least Ballotelli will do it on the front pages rather than 2 page spreads in the sport section about how great he is.

 

The guys an absolute basket case. Vlad wouldn’t go near him .

 

I’d give it 3 weeks but would need to wait til Jan to move him on.

#WatfordFC transfer latest Balotelli: source close to Italian striker (at Brescia / Serie B) wouldn’t comment directly on rumoured link with Watford. “Aim is to find the best solution”. Also linked few years ago, but nothing definitive to say it’s goer now.

This is excellent news and a sign that Gino and his team are hard at work to get this world shaking transfer across the line.

It reminds me of when Leeds signed Tomas Brolin or when Edgar Davids signed for Barnet. Game changing moves that worked an absolute treat.

We have 10 ‘strikers’ at present. Adding another would be baffling on the face of it, but then of those 10 only about 4 are actual no. 9s and none of them are willing/able to play right now.

If he does join then I’m on board for the fun of it.

 

What is the latest on Danny? Seems interest is very quiet on him, but I believe he's in the group 'outside the team'.

As for Mario, get it done. All our strikers blow hot and cold (well luke warm and cold), but Balotelli is different. When he's blowing hot, he's near unplayable, when he's blowing cold - well anything can happen, quite literally.

Being honest, with how absolutely barking mad football seems to have gone recently, nothing would shock me anymore.

 

Given he’s currently at Brescia in Serie B and getting frozen out, then it’s probably not at ridiculous as it sounds. Was actually very decent at Nice and Marseille previously - hadn’t realised quite how well he did there. If we could shift Penaranda or Success out to them in return too?

 

Surest sign yet that he's on his way. Seen wearing his Covid mask.

 

His goal scoring record shows he is a cut above anything we have now. It might be the madness of relegation, but imagine 3-4-3 with your three upfront Pedro, Ballotelli, Sarr

Id take Balotelli - he has always had all the ability to be a world class striker ......... just he has a stinking attitude and a self destruct button - if we could get a tune out of him for 1 season - he would tear up the championship
