Heard some scummers talking about he would be perfect for this fixture. Supposedly their 'hard-man' lol looked like a streak of piss.

I’ve just realised that, in all the years I’ve been watching Watford, I’ve seen us lose 1-0 to L*t*n NINE times but today was the first time I’ve seen us beat them by that score.

yes they are nearly all magnanimous in defeat and call us the better team. In the main it is reasoned discussion of why we won and perfectly rational
    Fair play

maybe their recent non-league journey and suffering has taught them something

Must be terribly, terribly bitter for them though, eh? Must be a real disappointment and a massive downer on the whole weekend. Awful thing to have to chew on. Must stick in the craw. Not one solitary shot on target even. Dear oh dear. And such a limp and disfunctuonal flacid display. They failed to rise to the occasion and did not get to shoot their bolt. It's nothing short of a humiliation and a disgrace.

And on top of that, they'll know that we're all grinning and happy and celebrating.

Oh yes, make no mistake, it's a bitter chill wind that'll be rattling the clapboard walls and shaking the nailed up curtains across Bedfordshire tonight.

I hope that it is an equally good natured attitude from those more naturally pessimistic, towards those fans who are naturally of a more “glass half full” disposition, when we have a less pleasing result, as we no doubt will.

So I actually think the pikey was on loan defender Norrington-Davies from Sheffield United - fun fact, born in Saudi Arabia, and apparently weighs 68kg compared to Troy's 90kgs (apparently)

    You're wrong.

We are not conceding a single goal in the league this season therefore we will finish the season unbeaten.

I think JP still needs some more confidence, and he is level headed I believe, so it won't happen overnight, or even quickly. He lacks composure in front of goal at the moment and it means he makes the wrong decisions, meaning that he either snatches at chances, such as that opportunity last weekend when instead of ballooning it over, he could have easily have taken it round the keeper and slotted it home, and yesterday, he had two really easy chances and tried to over compensate by steering them in, when a couple of blasts would have been better. He got away with the first, as it was deflected in, but the second was a poor miss.

I think that he can be a really good player for us and will go on to be a top six player (in the Prem) in a few years, but in the meantime everyone has to be patient when he has a bad game, positivity and encouragement is what he needs.

In contrast, Ngakia isn't lacking in confidence at all, and his sometimes incorrect decision making for the final ball is more down to being overconfidence, but what a player he can be. His defending is good and is obviously good going forward, and has demonstrated that against Spurs, not just the poor opposition yesterday. I can see him being as good as Wan-Bissaka, maybe better.

Dele-Bashiru is a bit more difficult to gauge, but I think he has real potential too. He also showed he could do well against better players such as Spurs.

Dan Philips also has real potential, as does Quina, and I think Wilmot also can be a good Premier League level player.

We need to consider that none of these players have come in at easy times, with injuries, relegation, new clubs and colleagues, poor role-models and captaincy in the club and unrest behind the scenes, new coaches, etc - almost everything has been against them getting off to flyers. Yet, they all look capable of doing really well. They need encouragement at every stage, nurturing, not fickle criticism.

And we also seem to have a coach that appears to instil the right attitude, or is at least unforgiving of poor attitude. He doesn't seem to be the sort of coach that drops a young player after a good performance, as previous coaches have, as if they need to make a "we can't have you getting too big for your boots" gesture.

This could be an exciting season!

Luton’s number 6 (Pearson) is a thug and could’ve been booked on 3-4 different occasions, amazed he finished the game still on the pitch.

Really impressed with Ngakia and Cleverley yesterday. The former is an absolute find!

Reading will be a tough game next week. Their confidence will be high, but this result should do the team the world of good - we really do have something to build on now.

The change of kick off time , weather and ofcouse result probably put them off.

Maybe like Jones their fans were foaming at the lack of performance from their team?

Beating Luton was a great day, but if in May we look back at it being the biggest highlight of our season then we will have failed.

It shouldn’t be a means to an end, but the day we not only put one over our deadly rivals but the day we started to properly look serious about what we can achieve.

I believe successful teams are built on partnerships, and I’m already liking what I’m seeing in this regard.

So often over the past seasons we’ve chopped and changed our back line. This campaign so far we’ve had the same back three in all three matches, and not conceded.

Yesterday saw the very early beginnings of the potential for a Sarr-Pedro partnership up top, if suitors don’t come calling.

In midfield we’ve started each match with a Cleverley-Chalobah axis, which of course will be broken up now by injury, but Garner had a full match yesterday so it will now be a Cleverley-Garner midfield for a few weeks.

Players are slowly getting used to playing alongside each other and I think the potential is there for decent partnerships to develop.

The first thing Ivic had to do was to sort out our leaky defence and so far, so good. No use scoring bucket loads if we are only then to concede a similar number ourselves. So far this season we’ve only conceded 4 big chances in our three matches. One moment of magic up the other end is all that’s usually been needed so far with our defence so solid. I’m sure in time the goals will come too. That will come with confidence, and the partnerships I was mentioning earlier. We have a good platform to build on, and that’s encouraging.

JP was on a pretty long dry spell back in Brazil before he came to us and I think you can sort of see it in his game. Elsewhere on the pitch he oozes confidence, but in front of goal he is snatching at his chances.

Ngakia definitely looks the real deal. Quick, good defensively and most importantly intelligent. This is the first league game we have got him involved higher up the pitch - we need to make sure we do it on a consistent basis.

TDB looks good, and I am looking forward to seeing him in a full 90, but he also came on when I think Luton had thrown in the towel.

I have some reservations about Dan Phillips - personally think he needs to go on loan to a league 2 side and play a full season. Some good parts of his game, but some areas that are really lacking.

Today was very positive in terms of the performance, and I don't want to put a downer on it, but I do think it also highlighted a concern of mine that despite the fact we were carving Luton open at will for large chunks of today we only scored one goal.

Murray may have gobbled up some of the chances we created if he had been on, but having watched him these last few games, we wouldn't have created them if he was on the pitch.

Deeney looked like he has put on some serious timber and didn't really look anywhere near it when he came on. I can't see him being a big part of it for weeks really.

Percia looks another "busy" striker, but does not look like a goal scorer.

Gray might be that goal scorer - he has done it before, but we have also seen him miss chances like James Collins' today.
