Not really as no one other player could command a fee that transforms the accounts. The club is at a pivotal strategic moment that will likely define our fortunes on the pitch over the next 10 years, so I think it fairly reasonable that people asses the consequences of selling or not selling our single biggest asset with a reference to what that means for our financial position. Minutiae fine, but a high level understanding of what a sale now could mean for our finances both this year and next seems fair enough to me.
The 2019 published accounts are hardly guesswork. Do you honestly things have done anything but get worse from that starting point? But if you want to stick your head in the sand that's fine. There is now a financials thread and you and Knight can shoot the breeze about Sarr staying or leaving as if it's a completely football decision.
About as interesting a response as us both agreeing Sarr is mustard in championship and then coming back to the thread when someone is rumoured to make a bid.
Perfect because that’s what this thread is about. Not sure why you posted as the title of the thread explains that
Sure no problem. Just to give you the heads up I would go and police the Capoue thread if I were you as they have been talking about Abdi and Gueds for 2 full pages now.
Is anyone going to cough up 20m for a player who is currently injured and won't be back until November?
New songs for next season: ITS BY FAR THE GREATEST BALANCE SHEET, THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN WHEN I SEE YOU PROFIT, I GO OUT MY HEAD, I JUST CAN'T SELL ENOUGH, I JUST CAN'T SELL ENOUGH OH HO HO HO ITS MAGIC YOU KNOW, HEALTHY AND STABLE CASH FLOW
We have been in need of some new chants for a while. We should record and release them into the charts to further improve our balance sheet
On this, on his next podcast (filmed two days ago and released yesterday morning) he announced Murray was close to joining us. His Watford sources are pretty good and I imagine we are trying to loan Sarr out.
I don't know, I'm just going off this article. Apparently Napoli are interested and we want 25m euros. https://www.mondonapoli.it/news/202...li-viene-dal-watford-ma-e-gia-noto-in-italia/
And probably about to pocket the same from selling Koulibaly. And £25m from Everton for Allan. They got cash.
I want a weekly financial report. Finishing 14th will be fine if we are the most stable club in the accounting league.
Sources close to me, may or may not have confirmed that Sarr is in the background of the Ivic interview. He seems a legit source of all knowledge and wisdom. Also very good looking. https://mobile.twitter.com/watford_usa/status/1303442198483087362
The photo is a still from the Ivic interview posted in the other thread. The player actually shot with his right foot in the video.
Had to go back and check. Definitely shoots with his right foot. When I took that still didn’t think about leg positioning.
Getting increasingly worried he won’t play for us again. He’s our best player by a mile and we don’t seem to have made any effort to get him back playing for the start of the season - no mention of him from the manager, it’s all very strange.
I normally agree with the more negative outlooks on things as far as our club is concerned - and I thoroughly accept why people think there’s no way he stays with us. But I just have a feeling he will stay.
I hope you are right. But I think you are wrong. I think the botched Pozzo/Duxbury comms machine realise this is the sale which will ignite the fans when we realise the garbage we have brought in instead so just want to get it done. It’s possible ever the clappers might get upset the day we sell Sarr and bring in Hutch on a free.
I'm guessing Sarr is behind others in pre-season training but maybe because of his age he may take less time to get up to speed. Assuming he's staying I would think that he may play a part on Friday and will almost certainly start against Oxford.
