Had no idea Ashley was such a comedian!

 

At about 21:00 my tv turned itself on, changed source to antenna and went to channel 4 which had that strange looking health guy from the government briefings doing an NHS corona message, bit weirded out by that to be honest. It isnt a smart tv nor is it connected to the internet.

 

Shame the tubby **** doesn’t use some keep fit equipment himself.

 

They won’t police it. They’ll pull over groups and maybe people they happen to see twice or more in a day if it’s blatant but if most people follow it and keep social distance it won’t be a policing issue.

Surely a better approach, than deliberately tanking the country into an economic depression that will put millions out of work, cause long lasting hardship, misery and through poverty more death for years to come, and which the next generation will be paying for, is to ring fence the high risk people and let the rest get on with life as near normal as possible? That way the health service doesn’t get overwhelmed. That way no one need drown in their bed.

You sat on the remote and it went straight to C4, you were watching that channel last night because it’s usually a safe bet for seeing a pair of **** on TV after the watershed.

I've suggested this in the past. If I recover from this illness within the next week I will completely agree. If I get to meet RD & Nnnn in the great forum in the sky, I will be less convinced.

But it’s not f*ck8ng hard is it, instead of locking 60 million people up just lock 1 million* up and have the 59 million look after them, protect them, deliver food outside the door etc and keep the country running. Requisition hotels, golf complexes, cruise ships etc to put the 1 million of their homes aren’t satisfactory.

Then again I’d have shut the border at least a month ago once it became clear what was happening in China and not let anyone in without a full test and quarantine.

We feel differently about this, which is fine. I must say I do really like the idea of ploughing millions of oldies onto a big cruise ship and it sailing around until they’re all dead from the virus. That’s a work of evil genius.

On the face of it, utterly and hopelessly clueless. However, I see through your ploy and appreciate your 'playing the Devil's advocate' so as to challenge and scrutinise government strategies. But your arguments are easily dismantled.

a) Many of the 1 million you want to live in solitary confinement currently live with some of the 59 million who might have picked up / passed on the virus already.
b) Increasing numbers of the 59 million already have the virus, most unknowingly, and will continue to spread it if they 'get on with their normal lives as much as possible'.

Result? Virus spreads out of control, the NHS breaks down, many of the 59 million people die at home in their beds.

You'll have to try harder than that!

 

Very disappointed in Michael Gove just now on GMB. He wasn't prepared, and gave woolly answers and raised more questions than provide clarity.

Edit: now he has clarified some issues, and apologised.
