    Shame about Ake and Fraser...

When Pearson arrived we were all hopeful that we might claw our way up to 17th with two games to go. Now we're hoping that will happen this afternoon after six matches. It's a miracle.

It's usually a draw but we have a great chance if our good form continues

That might be a desperate team selection by Howe. Has he rushed players back because of the importance of this game?

These returning players are hopefully rusty and off the pace.

See they've got some 20 year old keeper in too. I'm sure Troy will be keen to introduce himself on one or two crosses and set pieces.

    Our bench looks piss poor.
Bournemouth back to full strength apart from Brooks.
A draw would be a good result.

  10. Get Sarr and Deulefeo hammering down the right from the off to really test Ake's and Smith's actual fitness. Surely they can't both last 90 minutes at full match pace.

I’d say Bournemouth’s returning players are potentially a negative for them, if anything.

    And Josh King.

    New goalie too?

    Need to test them early.

They are probably thinking the same against our defence too.

    What did he say?

Troy Deeney is the leader and Doucoure our best player etc?

Yeah, the usual rubbish about Troy being our best player, we’re a team of battlers and we don't have any fancy dan players. He basically always thinks we’re Burnley.

The reality of course is that we haven’t had enough battlers and have had too many fancy dans.

They’ve got a kid in goal, we should pepper the goal today.

Biggest game of the season. Shame they have their best players back, especially Ake who’s class,

It's a big risk not having brought in any new defenders prior to this.

If we keep a clean sheet with that backline then Pearson is truly a miracle worker.

The last season or two it has started to swing that way, yes, but in our first two PL seasons we were mostly battlers (with the exception of Jurado).

We've consistently had the worst, or near to the worst disciplinary record in the league since promotion as we have been quite a thuggish side overall - Holebas, Britos, Prodl, Janmaat, Capoue, Behrami, Watson, Deeney, definitely battlers.

You have got to ask why teams of our quality & Bournemouth's continue to play out from the back. Our 2 best opportunities that half and one taken!

Deulofeu again shines now he has some proper support.

    Masina was excellent.

Capoue brilliant in the tackle today.

Buzzing Troy scored a goal from open play.

    Brilliant all round really.

Nigel Pearson please have my babies.

We needed some teams to falter to help us out, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Brighton and Burnley all duly obliged. For the first time, I can confidently say, we are staying up.

****ing fantastic performance and result. So important. Out of the bottom 3 but so many teams now in range and Muff have been dealt a massive blow. What a job Pearson is doing.

Wow, can't remember seeing so many 10/10 performances in the same game from our players

Speical mentions for Sarr, Capoue, Chalobah and Masina, incredible today

What a way to finally climb out of the relegation zone. Credit has to go first and foremost to Pearson, Shakespeare, Stack and Mullins, followed closely by Deeney, whose return on the pitch has been nearly as important

Deeney just said Abdoulaye Doucouré did not train all week and is on painkillers. Exceptional performance from him in that case!

Superb performance all around. Comfortable really. Capoue was a monster and hard pressing earns its rewards as against Villa. Sole disappointment is we did not score six or seven. We had enough chances to bag a hatful. And Sarr. A sublime player in the making. I like that he did not want to be substituted. It shows immense desire and hunger. Great result on the third anniversary of Gods passing. I am sure he would be delighted with the way Pearson and company has turned the side around. Magnificent.

No room for complacency though. We should be looking to knock a fragile Spurs at home next week.
