Just checked this weekend's fixtures. If Watford beat Bournemouth it could really go a long way. We've seen in recent weeks, when we've got good results, everyone else seemed to have won as well. Well I can see a big change in that this weekend. All our rivals have got difficult away games. The only exception being Villa at home to City, which is a tough task for them. Sheff Utd v West Ham Chelsea v Burnley Everton v Brighton Leicester v Southampton Man Utd v Norwich Wolves v Newcastle Aston Villa v Man City If all results go to form, then we could find ourselves in 17th place, on level points with West Ham and just 2 behind Burnley & Brighton and just 3 behind Newcastle & Southampton. Of course, lots of ifs and buts, but I see this game as the one where we can close the gap significantly and get in amongst the pack.
Yes...I think we'll win this, although in my Nostradamus predictions, which has been pretty perfect (http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/the-great-escape.56574/page-2), I've noticed I put this one down as a draw, so I'm now in conflict with myself. I'll let you know my final prediction at around 4pm on Sunday.
We will get hammered this weekend. I can't see us conceding less than 3 with the defence we will field.
Might be unfair, but I can't forget the scene with Kabasele lying "injured" on the ground while AFCB forwards rampage past to score......
Bournemouth will up for this game and we will come out trying to defend deep as our defence is injury hit. This will suit Bournemouth who have not been playing their quick passing game lately. 3-0 to Bournemouth as we will make it too easy for them. I hope not, but my money is on an easy win for Bournemouth.
I believe our team will be Foster Mariappa, Dawson, Cathcart, Masina Capoue, Doucoure, Hughes Sarr, Deeney, Deulofeu Subs Gomes, Chalobah, Gray, Dele-Bashiru, Quina, Holebas, Success
I think Pearson will be particularly cagey this week with the team information he puts out. Now we have got into this position this is now a game not to lose. He may try to send out fake rumours even, to confuse Bournemouth selection or formation and there have been less video clips on social media of the training and what we have seen is only Deeney, Welbeck and a few kids so seems to me that cards are being kept close to the chest on this one. Really difficult one to call but our defence, even as it is, with the support of the rest of the team are good enough to get at least a draw but I'm hoping for 1-2
People going on about our defence but theirs is just as bad. No Ake, Daniels or Smith for them. Looking at transfermarkt their backline will contain, Rico, Mepham, Cook and Francis. That defence is just as bad as ours. The fact that we have only conceded 2 more goals than them this season, just shows how bad their defence has been, considering the fact we got thrashed 8-0 in one game as well. Edit: Sarr and Deulofeu up against what could be a 34 yr old Francis and a Spainish Paredes in Rico. No different than Fraser and Wilson up against Mapps and Masina.
not the best , but all have demonstrated from time to time that they can be ok - before Dawson was injured he was starting to look ok would definitely rather we had Kiko 2.0 in the squad but we will be ok
Hughes and Femenia out. Welbeck training with the squad but too soon for him. Chalobah and Cathcart fit. Cleverley still miles away and no date for Prodl or Janmaat. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/team-news-bournemouth-2
I wonder where the Femenia news came from given that Pearson didn't mention him at all either way in the press conference (at least in the clip on the website). Him being out is a huge blow though, it's impossible to feel confident about this game knowing that both Mariappa and Dawson will be in our back line.
My team also but I’d swap Dawson to RB and Marriappa to CB. Dawson has been hopeless is a back pairing.
I actually admire Bournemouth more than any other side in the league. I wish we could have spent our premier league stint with a core group of English players that have played for us for years. Instead we have thrown enough sh*t at the wall to make some of it stick and I have felt disillusioned with most of it. Anyways, things are looking better with Big Nige at the helm. Up the orns.
That front 6 is quality . Chalobah looking back to his best in 2nd half against Villa , would have him over Hughes anyway, who I rate but doesnt affect matches . I like Mapps playing behind Sarr as it frees Sarr up from defending duties . We ll miss Kabasele but hopefully Dawson can do a job or do one . Not a Massina fan , would rather have a semi fit Holebas .
