Or if we can’t find someone like that, give it to Hayden Mullins until the end of the season. No point in keeping Flores if they are convinced he’s not the right man anymore.

It's probably with a view to next season as well. I don't know that much about Brighton's form last season, maybe he just went a bit stale there?

Why get Hughton? If we are going that route, get Big Fat Sam in, 6 month gig, half the gravy up front, and the second half on survival.

Give it to Emma Saunders. She knows the club well, gets on with the players and as a football brain. Problem is no experience in the actual handling of the game from
a technical stand point. Also fans like her and she's a good stadium announcer. Win win.

I'm sorry to have to say this but never underestimate how dim some sportsmen and women are.
Not everyone is Arthur Ashe or Brad Gilbert.
I've played with really decent players who have failed to recognise that one of the opposition is left handed!
Quite often comes with a limited field of interest, which is very dangerous, especially when players can't or aren't encouraged to think for themselves and problem solve.

Hughton is a great Championship manager. Keeps a tight defence but attacking wise was found out in the PL. A very conservative mentality which wont work in the PL when you invite pressure hoping that your Championship tactics work. I mean look at last night when we invited the pressure even Southampton managed a win.

His chairman Tony Bloom became fed up with these tactics and pressed the trigger. He Hughton is a clone of Flores. We need better than this.

The only 2 plus sides about Hughton

    - Brighton were superb at set-pieces under him.
    - Decent manager for the Championship.

Good point, with these VAR handball goals, why aren't we analysing what hand is their strongest? You show players onto their weaker foot, we now need to mark them and show them onto their weaker hand

I do understand IBB. I have seen some teams and players at a high level throw the playbook so to speak out of the window and turn matches around and often in individual based sports but many times even high level players ie England v South Africa not realize what they need to do. However the better prepared players are to understand what to look for in the opposition then we should perform better. However as you say there is no accounting for pigheadedness that separates the better players from those that either cannot implement or are unwilling to listen to the information given to them.

My best mate is a Brighton fan and says the football towards the end was abysmal - and failing. And he religiously stuck to the same players and tactics in spite of the better options available to him. Sounds far too familiar to the issues that have besieged our season already.

If it’s an appointment with one eye on next season (Championship), then Jokanovic is seriously a better option.

Club wanted Hughton back when Sannino left in 2014. Would be underwhelming but Paul Clement would be far worse.

Pep Guardiola's old assistant, Domenec Torrent, is one to keep an eye on also.

What a miserable state of affairs. Got off a plane in Ecuador yesterday so see we lost 2-1. Then saw we were ahead until the last dozen minutes. Now reading the prospective list of replacement managers. The gods are really against us this season. Not even the 7-0 drubbing of L**** can raise a smile.

The Mail article has been updated to say we are ‘keeping our options open’ and Hughton isn’t the only early contender.
Maybe not as nailed on as first seems.

If we get Hughton you'd think the owners are resigned to relegation. Would much rather see us go down swinging with attacking football than to stick 5 at the back and fail to defend 1-0s

To be fair to Houghton he has got a number of teams promoted and kept a poor team up twice. I am not a fan of his, but we will have limited choices. An English coach may not be a bad thing

Thank god. I really do not want Hughton. If they are choosing somebody take their time, even if we put a Deeney in charge for the trip
to Leicester, I would rather them make the right choice than be pressured into a rash decision.

To me Fat Sam is the answer. We have the squad for him as well based on his Bolton days. Kevin Davies? We have Deeney. Magic man JJ Okocha, we have GD/Bobby P.

My thoughts exactly. Far too similar to Flores to give us any chance of survival but set pieces should at least get to the level of basic competence and he’s a safe pair of hands to clear out the majority of gutless cowards who comprise our playing staff and create a younger hungrier squad. It’s all a waste of time if we keep that utter clown Giraldi though.

I posted it in the match thread, it will never happen but to me the sensible thing would be to splash cash on Benitez. Its pointless spending in January now, utterly pointless. It won’t save us but it will also be a milestone round our neck when we get relegated. Rather than spending say £20m+ on players, spend far less on a decent manager that might keep us up.

I wonder how many people on hear complaining about the current situation were about for the days of Colin Lee, Perryman etc, basically the early 90's. It was awful for about 5 years

Also with regards to not paying compensation for managers already in jobs, do you not think that’s more to do with the rod we made for our own back kicking up the fuss we did with Everton?

As honourable as it was for us to take the moral high ground like we did, it also completely ****ed us if we ever want to try and do the same thing.

Have any of you watched the video's of Neil Warnock giving his players a B****ing at HT when he was Huddersfield boss? That is exactly the manager
type we need. Ruthless. No point in patting them on the back and saying "we go again next time lads. don't forget to pick up your 250K on the way out."
