WFC vs WWFC (Posted early for those fans like me that are pretending today never happened and want to talk about Watford but can bring themselves to discuss what allegedly happened today). Hindsight is a wonderful thing, what has it taught me this week? When picking a match to preview don’t pick the match after the Man City game. I haven’t read the Man City vs Watford thread since page 6 and am now on media lock down until next Thursday, hopefully by this point all discussion of the **** show should have disappeared. Good news is we don’t have to play them until May next year. So Watford vs Wolves We find ourselves at the foot of the prem with a goal difference of -14, I remember looking at teams last year in a similar position with a smugness that I can now only dream of. It is also interesting how two of last year’s challengers for best of the rest, Watford and Wolves now find themselves in the wrong half of the table looking decidedly like relegation fodder. For the first five games of the season I was hearing many pundits say we were too good to go down, now I notice that the bookies have us at 2:1 to be relegated. So the Watford vs Wolves rivalry, last year turned into a bit of a grudge, they beat us twice killing of any slight chance of Europe and we made the comeback of comebacks to put them out of the FA Cup. They had a **** in a mask, we had a **** in defence, they made it to Europe, we made it to the cup final (kinda wish we hadn’t). What can we expect on Saturday (this is written before Tuesday’s EFL Cup game which hopefully will have restored some confidence to the squad)? Well the Newcastle and Arsenal game had brought a little more hope to the fans, Man City then found that little bit of hope killed it, cremated it and then jumped up and down on its ashes. Start with: Superstar signing Sarr who coupled with Gerry D brings a real threat in attack. Midfield of Capoue, Doucs, Challobah (for a laugh), Bobby P and Cleverly. Surely we have to go out and sign 4 more defenders and hope nobody notices we have done business outside of the transfer window. Gomes in goal – Foster must be on the edge of a nervous breakdown by now. Is Deeney back / do we care? For those paying attention yes I am suggesting we play with 12 players. At point of writing Wolves have also had an abysmal start to the season, sitting in 19th, drawing three and losing two. I do however expect them to beat Crystal Palace leaving us as the only prem league side not to win. Who will they play / what formation – frankly no idea other than I am sure they won’t play the wolves player that I decide to put in my fantasy football team (bastards keep doing it to me). Architecture: let’s be honest both Wolverhampton and Watford have been described as **** holes. Celebrity Fans: Watford have the porn star in the thread from last week, Wolves have the frontman from Dexys Midnight runners. Watford have SEJ , Wolves have Robert Plant Cheese Pun: don’t know what the score will be, but is Gouda be a lot of goals. Gardening Advice: Chainsaws are not toys (actually that advice was given to me by my wife while I was balancing half way up a step ladder recreating a scene from Evil Dead with the hedge). Finally, for the Grammar police out there (their ?) life is too (to ?) short , I know (no ?) I am crap at English but it’s been a traumatic day – just let it go.
I’ll say it again Wolves must be absolutely cacking themselves - they have to face the backlash for today from our proud stars - it won’t be pretty. 3-1
If Flores wants to keep his job then he has to show the players who's boss. I would rotate the entire team for Swansea and depending on that result, keep faith with it for Wolves. Not one player who played today can expect to be in the side for the next EPL match. He has to do something drastic or he’ll be out of a job before the ink is dry on his contract.
Won’t happen. We will rotate 100% against Swansea and then the berks (Flores + medical team) will decide the usual cowards take their place at Wolves.
They should be asking why can we perform like we did against Arsenal and then not turn up at all today? In that even when losing against Arsenal I thought we were in the game pressing and trying to attack them whereas we had nothing. Is that just typical of the modern footballer.
I look forward to watching the likes of dog s**t Femenia, Dawson, Doucoure and Hughes starting yet another game in which they can completely fail to perform competently at Premier League level as we fail to win for about the 435th time in a row.
Arsenal were worse than us. I genuinely think if they played Man City this weekend it would have been similar.
Relegation 6 pointer. Wolves at least have the excuse of the Europa. Lose this one, and we’re as good as down.
Their fans are pretty gutted they missed out on a chance to boost the Goal difference - let alone 2 points !
Can the losers meet up in advance and let us know if they're going to give a **** or not? Maybe it can be communicated to us in the form of emojis on twitter which we have to decipher? It'll save us all some time and money if not.
With Wolves losing at Palace, who'd have predicted this fixture would be the battle of the basement boys with zero wins apiece.
Great. Wolves equaliser with 10 men will feel like a win. And the charity team of the PL are rolling into town.
I am guessing that QSF is going for an early sacking, and will choose an unchanged side, from the City game. It’s a nailed on surely.
Well it is a test of Flores, Austin and the staff and how they can raise the morale and also at the same time send a message to certain players that the level of performances they are putting in are entirely unacceptable and that they will not be automatic choices in selection. Wolves have been distracted by their EL excursions of that there can be no doubt but if we play as we have done without energy, conviction, effort will be dismantled once again. The fight and spirit (coupled of course with Arsenal mirroring our efforts yesterday afternoon with a complete lack of application) that was displayed against Arsenal needs to be revived. I would happily drop several players who have been completely complacent almost blase about playing and that includes Foster with some of his stupid comments and Doucoure who showed flashes against Arsenal of what he once was. I would throw in some of the unused players because they have points to prove and have not been affected by the losses of late in the sense they have not been on the pitch to affect the outcome. --------------------------------------------Dahlberg------------------------------------------------- ----Janmaat--------------Kabasele--------------------Cathcart-------------------Masina------- ------------------------Capoue--------------------Cleverley--------------------------------------- -------------------------------------Chalobah----------------------------------------------------- ----------Pereyra------------------------------------------------Deulofeu------------------------ ---------------------------------------------Sarr---------------------------------------------------
I too would like to see a major switch of playing staff. If for no other reason than to show who is boss and what they did at City is totally unacceptable. I'd switch Dahlberg with Gomes or Bachmaan, but the rest seems reasonable. Hopefully Welbeck will be available, at least from the bench and I'd like to see Quina given a game, as he's always such a quality, positive player.
They are away to Besiktas the Thursday afterwards. Not sure if that'll make any difference? Can you imagine how bad this season would be if we had to play in that competition too lol.
A win?! To concede less than 5 would be a victory of sorts. Something has to change, apart from the kit for this game. It seems that many fans feel complete apathy towards this game and the team. An aura of who really cares?
Yes have moved from anger to taking the mickey out of the side. If the team start to give a toss, then so will I.
