There were those two free headers we missed. And the new lad had one chance go just past the post and bent another just over the bar.
Lovely word, 'crapulence', isn't it? Silver star for using it, but not gold because I'm not sure it's the right one for that sentence. Maybe just plain 'crap' would be better. You're broadly right, though; the angry doomsters and gloomsters are getting a bit silly in some cases, trying to outdo each other in their condemnation of this person and that tactic.
Nah, walked down to Sandhills station, caught the Northern Line to Central and the Wirral Line out to Leasowe.
Think it's pretty obvious that Kiko isn't a defender. Why does he turn his back when Bernard shoots? Lack of bravery and commitment
From everything I heard and read from other sources, rather than the knee jerk reactions from a lot of half wits
In past seasons 0 points from 2 games would have had me panicking. Tonight I'm annoyed but ok. I'm no happy clapper but I think every team occasionally starts badly and we'll be ok. The classic cliché of look how far we've come but, for me, a general stresshead in life, to be generally chilled tonight about Watford FC shows we've really come a long way. In any case, everyone always moans about a boring post January season after virtually securing safety so a relegation battle will at least keep those of you happy!
Every week I complain Kiko isn't a defender and shouldn't play RB, yet nothing changes. I am beginning to think Javi isn't even reading my posts on here anymore.
Same old problems really, nothing we didn't know before, all a bit tedious really. Gracia is going to have to make some changes and drop those that just aren't good enough or can't play in the way he wants the team set up.
Watford Quiz This is going to test the memory of fans, but no cheating and no looking back to the history books. When did Watford last score a goal? When did Watford last not get beaten? When was Watford's last win? (the nearest month will do) In which year did Watford last keep a clean sheet? Seen the match now, and at first viewing I thought it was a poor goal by Foster to concede. Having watched it tonight on MotD, it's clear it's taken a deflection which deceived him. There wasn't a lot between the two sides really, but our defending was really inept at times. Richarlison was left totally unmarked on two occasions. Why do we keep making these mistakes? This is why we don't keep clean sheets. There's so much panic in defence. No one has any composure. It's a regular occurrence where we miskick a ball or just panic. It's just so frustrating to watch us try to defend. I think we have the worst defence in the Premier League. Our players are just crap at the back. None are Premier League quality. They are all Championship at best. Up front it's the same old story. We panic when we get a chance. There is no composure. How many times do I see our players miskick it at the vital moment. Today it was Doucoure, but Hughes, Gray, Deeney, Pereyra, Deulofeu are often culpable. By and large we are decent. We play a good game for the most part, but are just sh1t at the business end. That's a relegation side. Learning lessons and being more clinical, are always lines the players trot out, but lessons are not learnt, finishing is rarely clinical. We have to pin all our hopes on Sarr and Welbeck. I'm hoping these two come in and make a real difference. On the back of this players raise their game and gain confidence. Right now, nothing is going right. No VAR decisions, no luck with deflections or woodwork. Fine lines and margins, but there are all going against us right now.
This is the real experience of watching Watford; I'm sure someone will say it's just confirmation bias, but watching us always feels a bit like watching a ragtag plucky group of amateurs thrown together to compete for the safety of earth, but without the attached urgency. The amount of times we mishit/kick balls, overrun balls players are coming onto, run straight into blind alleys and get bodied out of possession is just too damn high. It sometimes seems too much to be coincidence.
I think that's mostly confirmation bias. We notice the things our team does wrong and don't really register mistakes made by the opponents as much. Comes with having an emotional attachment to one of the sides; it makes it much more difficult to be measured.
We deserved a draw against a team that has spent hundreds of millions of pounds more on their squad and wages. I heard they’d won 5 home games in a row before facing us, hadn’t conceded at home since February and we had them rattled for large spells of the game. We fought and played better today and if we perform like that throughout the season we’ll easily be safe from relegation. From today, I’m actually the most worried about the two free headers we gave Richarlison. It should be fairly simple to sort out, but if we keep giving away such easy chances at set pieces we’re in a lot of trouble.
