Disappointing end but as soon as Kabasele made the error I knew it was in. Only mistake I made was I assumed Sigurdsson would be the one to score. Great battling performance from the team, Quina showed he is more than just skills, a lot of bite and quick passing from him, MOTM. Thought Pereyra and Holebas were both excellent and Deeney battled well. A sickening 2 points dropped but they are in form and we muted them second half.
Yeah he was fouled, but he still made an unnecessary intentional movement to handle the ball after the foul had finished.
I’m fuming..Kabasele should NEVER play for this team again. He simply doesn’t learn. He does the same daft **** week after week. I’ve got to say, Kevin friend shafted us AGAIN, he does the same daft **** week after week
To be fair I didn’t think the ref had a bad game apart from the Mina foul. Linesman ballsed up the goal but Friend got everything else right.
So disappointing, almost our first win at Everton and an encouraging performance generally but Kabasele eh. How can a professional footballer be so unprofessional? Should leave him behind when the bus leaves.
This is why Doucoure can't be dropped at the moment. He looks like a footballer that's lost all his confidence, but Chalobah doesn't even look like a footballer. We were always playing with fire starting the season with only one central midfielder who'd gone through pre-season and when he's the one that gets suspended, we're screwed. When we were scrabbling around deep into pre-season weighing up whether to bring in Jack Rodwell or if we could convert Tommie Hoban or an 18 year old centre back from Stevenage into our starting centre midfielder, we were playing with fire. On paper central midfield is our strongest area of the squad. But not when we don't have Cleverley, Chalobah can't function, Hughes is out, Doucoure missed the whole of pre-season it's not. On the plus side, Quina looked good.
I doubt they deliberately give away free-kick's 20 yards out. That would be moronic. I thought we played well tonight. Any criticism of the officials is completely valid after that imo. Hopefully Ssssslither's car gets a flat tyre on the way home. Quinoa looks like he's ready for the first team. Very confident on the ball. Also think Sema looked useful. Loved the penalty save, particularly the off-putting hand clap Foster did.
Echoing moog’s sentiments, I’d love to know the thoughts of those who were castigating Gracia for benching Kabasele. Feel sorry for the bloke, he’s been dealt an awful hand by the recruitment team, our CBs are Championship standard.
Even Poirit would be baffled by Kabasele. Best argument yet for someone like Cahill on loan for second half of the season. A seasoned upgrade on Maps.
Deeney not happy with him. Made a point that refs expect respect from players, but implied respect not given back to players tonight by Friend
Ok I thought it was an exciting game (at least the first 95 mins) and thought we should have won Positives Sema and quina looked alright Team semed to want to win We were on the balance probably the better side We scored 2 goals away from home We didn’t loose Great save from foster Negatives Ref was **** , linesman was ****, refs stopwatch was clearly broken Kabs was ****
I understood that the comms between lino and ref were down. Alan Smith was slurring on about it in the commentary.
Yeah, it's not like he hadn't already done it twice this season! Quelle surprise, the scorpion has stung the frog again!
Oh that is hard to take. Hard to disagree with Vicarage Road regarding Kaba. Stupid foul for penalty, awful handball. I couldn't see them scoring. feels like a loss but would have been delighted with a draw at 8pm. Pleased for Quina. Good support from our fans,it sounded like Everton were having a 90 minute silence for most of the game. So frustrating.
Sky said on the commentary that the comms were down between the officials for Everton's first goal. If that was the case, why the **** didn't Friend go over and speak to the linesman?
And the only one who's consistently not a villain is Cathcart, because he's the most bang average player and he knows it. Never tries to take an extra touch, or take it on, or spread it. Just foot through the ball and on we go. He's nothing special at all, but he's head and shoulders our best, because the bar is set so, so, so low by the standards of the rest of them
Proud tonight, one thing we can say is that we fight. We outplayed those bunch of frauds from the 15th minute onwards and kept our heads despite the two blatant injustices with the offside goal and Mina second yellow. We looked comfortable for most of it until we got to the 80th minute and panicked. Quina was absolutely superb. Hughes should be nowhere near the team at the moment. Was worried to see Sema in the side but thought he did well in fairness, he looked dangerous when he cut inside and took up some good positions. Holebas was superb and it was between him and Quina for MOTM, with the former getting it. Doucoure is a shadow of the player from his first 18 months in the side. Gives the ball away constantly... Chalobah is not the player he was in his first 6 weeks here last season before his injury. The fact Javi put Quina in ahead of him speaks volumes. May never fulfil his potential now. Quina has to start at the weekend, simple as that. Kababsele is a braindead moron. Personally thought he defended brilliantly against Richarlison and had him in his pocket for the most part, but then undoes all of it by giving away a needless penalty (it was a clear penalty, although Mina shouldn't have been on the pitch to win it) and then the handball right at the end to give them the point they absolutely didn't deserve!! Feels like a defeat. Cardiff next up, has to be a home win.
If only the lino had some sort of visual aid to attract the referees attention. Maybe something like those flappy things that ships use to communicate with each other. Pennants or whathaveyou
If only he could draw the referee's attention with something like a flag....I know...silly suggestion.
No way can that sort of behaviour be "accepted". Christ, he's a flipping International player for one of the top International teams in the world. But, hey! I know what you mean.
Not been as angry with a Watford player since Kabasele laid down on the pitch away at Bournemouth to gift them an equaliser. He is consistently making game changing mistakes having defended well throughout! Playing against him you know he's going to give you a chance.
Doucoure almost looks as though he's trying too hard, if that makes sense. He tries to force passes etc, instead of being more patient. He just doesn't seem anywhere near as composed on the ball anymore.
On coach back. Mixed feelings, didn't realise how many big calls friend got wrong and where he got 6 mins from. Kabasele deserves to be dropped again, I'd prefer Wilmot to him.
I thought a draw was a fair result overall. Horrible way to lose 2 points but the fight from the players was admirable. I'd love to see Quina, Capoue and Doucoure in a midfield three when all are available.
Yeah, but offside goal plus missing a red card when they don’t offset is a pretty disastrous nights work!
