You’ve set up a high bar. But great to see a forumite so open to expressing their emotions. Unlike Clive ‘Poker Face’ Kremlin.
Maybe...….but I like the fact he really believes in the club, team, squad. He sets no ceiling, and that's so refreshing from the usual "we want to avoid relegation" line which all managers outside of the top 6 or 7 come out with.
Navarro out injured according to Gracia and won't play. Apparently a minor issue reported in the week. So we'll see him back in 2022.
"Only" three players out though. Navarro, Janmaat and Cleverley. I feel sorry for Navarro, he was good defensively at Arsenal, but Bournemouth is as good a game as any to bring in Femenia at RB.
Maybe it’s only RB’s our medical team can’t handle now? Would explain why Javi has been so averse to playing Kiko there. He’s trying to save his compatriot.
I’m still not overly sure he will pick Kiko there. I mean, I’d say it’s likely but I don’t think it’s cut and dried. He has barely played him there at all since he arrived - I wouldnt he totally shocked to see him put Mariappa out there in all honesty. But to put Kiko in there opens up a nice little ‘wide’ player spot on the bench for Deulofeu.
Played Muff more times over the years across the leagues than any any other team in the Prem bar from Palace Head to head is close, W 36, L 35, D 33
This is why I said it was foolish to loan out Foulquier and release Dja Djedje. Should never have fewer than five right backs in a squad #shambles #ponzosout #whatyouplayingatGiraldi
So in our best of 105 match up, this is the decider! We were always them when I started watching. Actually, it was Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic. Our older correspondents may recall Boscombe St John's Institute FC. You know who you are.
? Btw, I'm not sure whether, these days, if Lech is persona grata or non grata to the socialist persuasion. Apologies if any offense caused.
I distinctly remember the Bournemouth fans chanting “Boscombe, Boscombe!” long after John Bond had their name changed to AFC.
Clive's finest review yet, and excellent comments by others, especially Sahorn. Muff clearly bring out the best in us. But did Cif* Kremlin peer-review it, Clive? She would surely have pointed out that Bournemouth is as full of financial services executives as it is of Dorset** proletarians. And I'm guessing that you dislike financial services executives just as much as Dorset/Scouse/Manc proletarians. * the new name for Jif ** the new name for Hants. I think Muff might have been expelled
I wasn't happy that he chose Navarro over Kiko to play against Arsenal, but fine, he did alright and it gave us the lovely little Bellerin-Navarro backgarden narrative. If he puts Mariappa there instead of Kiko against a team like Muff, I will be genuinely baffled, and a tad concerned. I already fail to understand how he cannot see from watching our performances last season, when Femenia was our best right back, that Femenia is our best right back. Mariappa is a far worse full back, as well as being far, far slower and prone to lapses in concentration in the position. Muff will be desperately sniffing around for the merest hint of a penalty, and they have several very fast attackers. There is no debate to be had; Kiko must play.
In fairness, did anybody else honestly see this start we've had coming before the season started. We were one of the favourites to go down and I think a good proportion of people on here felt it was going to be difficult this year. We have basically surprised everybody including our own fans. All this and we still haven't had a fit Chalobah or Delefeou to call upon yet.
Battle of the surprise teams of this season. With Chalobah back in the England set up it surely must be time for him to play a part tomorrow and Delefeou looks close to being part of the squad again. Always tight games apart from that 6-1 a few years back and I don't expect anything different tomorrow but I'm quietly confident and I think that is the main difference this season, the confidence. I've felt over the last 3 years that we've lacked self belief sometimes and not just in games against the top 6. This year they have played in a way that shows that they believe we are a good side and that we can finish top 10 and maybe even top 7. Their confidence I believe is filtering it's way down to the fans as well to the point where quite a lot of us felt we would go to Arsenal and get something (probably should have) where as in seasons past we would treat it as a free hit, we know we will probably lose but every now and again we might not. If we are to finish top 10 though this is a really big game against potentially one of our rivals for this position and also because we've gone 3 without a win. Bournemouth are a decent side and certainly not a team I have any bitterness towards and I really don't understand those that have an issue with them although I admit Arter and Smith are very unlikable but those aside I have no problems. In fairness they have done slightly better than us since promotion and it looks again like they won't be involved in the relegation areas and fair play to them. This could be our season to do something really special and I'm confident we will Watford 0-3 Bournemouth
Good work Clive but harsh on donkeys I think. I shall be hiding under my seat for two reasons;firstly to avoid Antics Smith and his chums hurling themselves to the turf.Secondly to prevent myself assaulting Daft Barry and his inane ramblings.
One of our own against Lawro this weekend: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45652012 Maybe more worrying both he and Merson go for us to win...
