Its embarrassing & cringe worthy enough just reading about it on here.

What did the presenters on the radio say when this joker called up? Hopefully told him to stop being a ****

Drink it in...we're the main game on MOTD...I'll give it a miss.

    They were quite shocked.

A WFC fan came on later to disagree with David and to suggest he might like a lie down with a stiff drink for a decade or two!

So in two games against Hull this season, we've only managed TWO shots on target against them.

They played us for over an hour with 10 men and beat us 2-0. It's not as if they were 2-0 up when they had the man sent off.....it was 0-0 at the time.

At least the entire board were at the game, so there's no hiding place for anyone who was involved today.

Serious changes are needed in the summer, and I don't think that can be avoided now.

I'm not agreeing with what the chap on 606 said but I will say, this is the first watford side I've seen who can't be ****ing arsed. We've had plenty of crap watford sides over the years but none I can remember were half-arsed. I'd much sooner support a sub standard, hard working team, to the current lazy prima donnas we have

Not long got back from only my third away day of the season. Only Mazzari's Watford could manage to lose to a team who have been in the bottom 3 for most of season and played 3/4 of the match with 10 men. That was ****ing woeful. I don't know if it's down to the way WM coaches them and sets them up, or if we just have a squad composed predominately of gutless wasters, who actually are not very good. As always we plodded about the pitch with no urgency, constantly misplacing passes, or otherwise just taking the easy sideways and back option. The speed with which Hull broke for the first goal was amazing. When do you ever see us do that?
Dropping Marriappa for Britos was unforgivable. I lost count of the time, Britos just pumped the ball aimlessly forward and gave it away. The form Marriappa has been in, surely warranted another run out. When they went down to 10 men, we should have gone for it, but no - lets wait until well into the 2nd half to make a change. Very very poor. Embarrassing in fact, and the players got the reception they deserved from the fans. I do like the KCOM stadium though. One of the nice new ones.

We'd be a bit sick if one of ours got sent for a tackle like that!

    Not that is matters...

We seemed 2nd to the ball for both of their goals..

Been at work all day, not seen any footage and have absolutely zero interest in doing so.

The sooner this season is over and we can sack off Mazzarri and half the squad the better. I would also include our 'leader' Troy Deeney in that half too.

We need to change tact this summer and sign more players of the calibre of Tom Cleverley (home grown talented players WANTING to put a shift in) and get rid of the likes of Britos, Holebas, Behrami, Capoue & Amrabat.

What a poor season this has been and we're on 40 points with 5 games to go still! Why are we not delighted with that? It's down to the TURGID football being served up week in and week out. We are only safe because the quality in the bottom half of the table is SH*T!!

I did read somewhere we still had a better record than 5/6 others clubs on the road!

Not sure what that says about the league...

It says the same as with any league. To actually get relegated you have to be a special sort of crap. Consistently and utterly. Plus people always seem to overestimate what finishing midtable entails.

A few people blaming Deeney but playing him up top on his own isn't helping him.

Usually much more effective with another striker, particularly a quicker one like Vydra or Ighalo playing off him and running beyond him.

He can be effective in the Prem but our tactics are hardly doing him any favours.

The only one apart from Gomes and Pr*dl who would have the confidence to say that - but then he is part of the team.

  19. Of all our performances this season, and with Walter saying he will 100% be here next season (the kiss of death to our last two managers) I do feel his "FRO" clock is as close to midnight as it has ever been from a club point of view, as opposed to a squealy fan view, where it has been at 12.05 since December.

One thing seems for sure, and that is Gino will not have liked what he saw this afternoon any more than we did, and, unless the decision has already been made to get rid, Mazzarri has got to make sure he doesn't coach himself out of a job in these remaining games.

To single out and blame just Deeney, Walter or anything else is just too simplistic...

Walt is not getting the tactics right or the best out of the players. I truly hope that is not because the players don't want to play for him as "player power" really p&sses me off
Many of our players are not showing any passion and making basic mistakes. Who knows if that is because they are tactically confused, don't want to play for Walt, don't want to play for Watford but, whichever way, they need to be shipped out
The Pozzos should not avoid blame. Yes they have been great for the club but is their set up correct and do they understand the type of Head Coach required? Joka may well have been a mistake but who knows
Recruitment - not sure we have got it right over the last few seasons at all
Finally, the fans. Our expectations and patience is ludicrous. I'm not saying Walt is right but what happens when he's replaced and we lose a few - will our fans be demanding the demise of the next guy

    Concern has turned to anger

    I am angry.

We have lost lots of games this year but until we were safe the emotion was one of concern - thinking where will next point come from etc.

Now we are safe I have just woken up angry. That game was handed to us on a plate with the farcical red card. We thre it away limply - it was pathetic and a total disregard for those supporters that travelled up. Manager and players should be embarrassed. Line the teams up and our team should be too strong 11 v 11 but we were clueless. How can you let a team with 10 men have 3 v 1 when the score is 0 - 0 - embarrassing.

I can only think Gino is furious.

Not sure if I have felt so angry - having said that the Swansea, Palace fans must be equally angry. It was a lack of professionalism that lost that

    Weekend ruined

Agree with that, as so often this season, our reaction to going behind was poor, interesting to note that this season, playing the 'weaker' sides , we've failed to score a single goal away against Sunderland, Burnley, Palace, Swansea, Hull, Stoke (and Millwall!).

Of course it is wrong to single out anyone for blame, but there are many contributors and you have mentioned several reasons why fans are not happy.

But the biggest issue is that the squad is playing well below its potential and that is the worst kind of issue you can have as it is problem caused by players' state of mind. That is so difficult to correct as the cause is often complex and unclear - particularly for fans to understand as we cant see what is happening behind the scenes. But there is something clearly wrong with the mindsets and relationships surrounding the coaches and players.

But it isnt easily defined. So when we have regular poor performances like yesterday it is easier for a section of fans just to dismiss the players as just not being good enough. Easier to correct, right? Buy some new ones, and it's sorted, right?

The reality is different, as new better players brought into the same environment will not solve the problem of poor performance. Relatively, we may improve slightly, but the problem is still there.

Another section of fans (which includes me) recognises that there are deeper problems than merely the players individual ability will be searching for potential solutions and that will include replacing the single most important person in the club (as far as team performance is concerned), the coach and to a degree, the captain.

You might think it is ludicrous, and I have never called for Walter to be sacked. But I can see why something pretty drastic needs to be done otherwise we will end up with next season being as abject as this, and (if we are not so lucky) where the points we earn are actually in line with how we play. That will mean a relegation fight, or worse.

You mention that progress word in so many of your posts. We have not progressed since last year seems to be your mantra. Let's say for argument's sake you are right, ie we have stagnated or even regressed since last year. My question to you is so what? Progression isn't measured year on year.

In this graph there is distinct progression, but almost every up is followed by a down. (Ignore the legend, if I was using a PC I would have made an Exel chart, as it is I had to find something of the web)

On the pitch it's patently obvious we have progressed since the Pozzo's arrival even if Zola's second season on that graph would have shown a drop.

I do not understand your near hysteria that we have not progressed on the pitch this year, at least to your yard stick. As part of the bigger picture I believe consolidating ourselves in this league is indeed progression in a wider sense than our points achieved or goal difference over last season.

Walter trying to pick up drab away draws against weaker teams then going more attacking away to Man United, Arsenal and Spuds.

It's worrying that we send to get a lot worse after time.

Even in the games we have won in recent times that has happened.

What vets said during the break?

This is the bit I massively struggle with, for two reasons

    1) The supposed progression and strength of our squad. The players who were bought in to genuinely strengthen the squad have not been available for large chunks of the season. Janmaat, Kaboul, Success, Pererya, Zarate, even Amrabat we could consider a new player in this side. So we've had a huge lack of consistency in selection, particularly where pace and creativity is concerned. Niang and Cleverley joined in Jan and have contributed somewhat to addressing that. Our core team for most of this season has been the same or worse quality than last year. Ighalo and Deeney dropping off a cliff in the first half hasn't helped.

    2) Every other team around us has strengthened their squad to the same extent or more. Hull and Burnley have punched above their weight, but Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Palace, Bournemouth, West Brom, Saints, Stoke have all invested. So if all our players had been available, standing still would have been a realistic goal.

Now the quality of football is another debate, but I believe closely linked to those players absent for most of the season. I fail to believe that a team including Niang, Pereyra, Zarate, Doucoure, Capoue and Cleverley wouldn't be a far bigger danger as an attacking force. We need a new star striker, and a defender or two, but I don't think we're in need of a major overhaul if everyone is fit.

I think it's also down to the fact that we know we have really scraped a good 5-6 of the wins this season, but can't point to any games we've been unlucky to lose. In fact, it's hard to think of more than 2 or 3 defeats where we were not just awful.

It's been hideous, but with 40 points

It's quite simple really, the tactics are wrong. We play for a draw away from home, one man up front and pack out the midfield.
One problem with this is that we never look like scoring if, which we do on multiple occasions concede the first goal.
Many people on here like Armrabat, but I can't see what he brings to the team, can't track back, defend and he's a winger who doesn't cross the ball, it's only because Janmaat overlaps him that it looks like he is in the game, and then throwing a strop every time he is subbed sums the guy up.
The next one who needs a a kick is Capoue, he struts around like a peacock, yesterday in particular not once did he get stuck in, and for Mazzari to take of Doucoure over him was a travesty.
I feel for Marriappa, he hasn't done anything wrong in the games played recently but overlooked for Britos, there maybe tactical reasons but I can't see them.
Yesterday even with 10 men, Hull wanted it more, and deserved what they got.

He deserves plaudits for his commitment but he's certainly not one of the best in the league. Maybe as an attacking presence he is but defensively he's middling to poor. You only have to watch him closely to see how he never ever gets tight to his man to prevent crosses into our box.
