Reluctant to say this but we need a new manager & at least half the team needs rebuilding in the summer. TD has served us well & I will forever be grateful, but It's time for him to develop his career elsewhere & us take these funds so we can freshen this team up & move to a different playing style with an experienced manager who knows this league. I don't want us to be the tallest & the heaviest anymore, this is partly the root of our problems. I wonder about Ranieri..

Get Ranieri, regardless of what happened this season at Lesta, he's still a damn good manager.

This whole Premier League journey from Quique to today has for the large part, been utter shyte.

And don't tell me that's what the Prem is. I'm not expecting us to win every game or even play half decent every game, I have no problem with poor performances.

However, watching this tedious "tallest and heaviest" team with it's preference to hoof everything, no pace, no agility, no guile, no creativity, no leadership, no balls, no drive, no chemistry, no connection and so on and so on for the past two seasons has really taken it's toll on me. I've genuinely never been less engaged and disillusioned as a Watford fan as I am today.

    Sort it out Gino.

He's bloody 65 years old and has won nothing in his career except for a Copa Del Rey at Valencia and a title at Leicester last year for which he was probably 25-30% of the reason why.

I can't say anything after this game that is any different from what I've been saying for months.

    We are totally ****.

I dont know why anyone would be surprised at just how poor we were today.

Troys just said on the BBC said it was a draw all day, he admitted making a mistake and said the only bit of quality on the day was Zaha, Very rare to see a player so honest, the panel on the BBC gave Troy a lot of praise!

Since our win against Everton on 10th Dec we've managed just 10 points from 13 matches. That's 1/3 of the season with only 10 points. Relegation form. Walter out.

We have had issues with recruitment since Pozzo took over.

I look forward to another summer of a dozen new signings, most of whom won't cut the mustard here.

Don't be patronising after you come up with a totally awful idea and have no justification for it.

F**k me, the likes of Holebas and Capoue would have Ranieri for breakfast.

That was disappointing & frustrating in equal measure. A poor game between two very poor non descript teams, that neither side deserved to win. The goal when it came was in keeping with the character of the match at least, but what makes it even more disappointing was that the own goal was Palaces only attempt on target during the whole game. In fact I'm not sure it was recorded as an effort on goal so we lost without the opposition having a shot on target. It was also the only quality ball played to Deeny all game, the irony.

Palace, for their part, were as scumy & unlikable as ever. The punch on Prodl, a stamp on Cleverly, the reckless challange that left Niang in a heap. They got away with a fair bit today.

As for us, we were poor. Defended fairly well and moved the ball about alright at times but it always ends in a hoof up the field. As others have said it was very reminiscent of the performances under Flores the second half of last season. The lack of creativity isnt a total surprise, if any thing it was to be expected to an extent. An isolated striker playinging in front of 3 defensive midfielders while relying on a stricker & right back being played out of position on the wings to provide some width/attacking intent. Having said that though we still have players who have played at the highest levels and the game plan must be more than hoofing it towards Deeney and hoping he can make something happen.

How poor we've been for a while now isnt all donw to Wally; injuries to key players and a recruitment drive over the summer geared towards a style of play/formation that we have long since abandoned have exposed how limited this squad is in depth, quality & balance. The flip side to this of course is that these have been issues for most of the season yet Wally has failed to address them or compensate for them, we have no recognisable style or system, performances continue to decline for the most part and we still dont play to our strengths. For those reasons, along with the fans not taking to him, I think Wallys days are numbered - he certainly looked like a man under pressure when the camera was on him at one point in the second half.

Amrabat looked rusty and lacking in match fitness. Niang is wasted out wide. Cleverly had a fairly good first half but was missing for large parts of the second. Doucoure looked good when he came on and along with Prodl/Kaboul the pick of the players. Thought Cathcart & Britos did well despite being played out of position. Deeney was isolated yet still scored with his only attempt on goal.

7 points off the relegation zone, 9 points needed to be sure of staying up and 10 games left. This is going to be close and I cant help but think our best chance will be that there are 3 worse teams than us.

I hate Mazzarri, I hate our football, I hate the majority of our players and I hate this season.

I can't wait for it to be over, I really can't. Never have I felt anything like such a disconnect with the club. Oh, and relegation is not out of the question.

Doubt it will happen (and he's in decent form) but I wonder whether the team approach might be more effective if Deeney wasn't in the team for away games? They just seem to hoof to him all the time and don't take their own responsibility.

That would be making the assumption that Mazzarri's tactics are to not hoof it long.

    Which I don't believe.

Rubbish performance. What I don't get is how every passing move looks tortuous for the players. Heavy touches, slow turns, indecision, lack of movement... awful. The decision making is dire and confidence on the field looks rock bottom.

Palace even had the audacity to steal our 'last team to win without a shot on target' record we set against Hull!

Hadnt happened for the last 10 years apparently.

Yeah. Not that I want QSF back at all but by way of comparison many of our similar players were pinging it around quite happily at the start of last season (prodl, Britos, Capoue, Behrami). Maybe we miss the Jurado :)

    GoingDown "The Stability"

"In the last two games I didn't like my team - even though we created a lot of chances we looked very disconnected as a team.

"Today, we played better and it's just a matter of scoring.

"If we continue like this we're in a good path. The fact we didn't concede anything to them is a good sign."

Genuine quotes from Walter Mazzarri. I can only assume that sarcasm was part of his English language learning this week.

Well on the brightside I'm not wasting time and money going to watch the absolute dross we've served up this season in person on a regular basis.

Good job I have that whole "career" thing often getting in the way at weekends too, although I'm sure it's immense fun playing the "I go to every game so I'm better than you" role, pathetic as it is.

I do give a monkeys that our players look clueless with no passion and bereft of any ability. If I performed my duties at work in that manner then I would be out

I find it hard to sum up any interest in going home or away anymore

It'd be interesting to know what the Pozzo's genuine ambitions and expectations for this season were.

The likelihood now (based on our current league position and our form) is that we're going to finish further down the table than last season, scoring a similar amount of goals as last season but certainly conceding more, having played ugly, long ball football that for the most part has been devoid of any creativity or flair.

No one expected miracles this season, but there should at least of been some, even if only small, signs of progress on the pitch, but the truth is that if anything we have regressed and that cannot be seen as acceptable.
