Watson didn't start last week - it was Capoue/Gueds/Behrami. I'm also hoping Doucoure gets a start as well.
Of course I should have said use him tomorrow, not necessarily start. Although I think much would depend on the score as the 2nd half wears on because a point (or three) against Chelsea is well worth defending.
And this morning SSN were using the "Sky sources say..." line to say a bid had been accepted. Their source (sauce) being Sunderlands official site....

Hmm. Two things: 1 That reporter looks like Ledley with spectacles drawn on. 2. If this happens I will bring out the "gone berserk, dinner on the ceiling" note for Mr IBB!:doom:
Unlikely ... and even if true we have Gomes and Capou to dissuade him .... Oh yes and Pardew is a cunt of a boss from what I heard
I agree he sounds a sap of the highest order. I thought he called Bolasie "Yoyo" or something akin to that earlier!
Palace could probably offer higher wages than us which is something I can see changing things unfortunately However we are the right side of London for where his family is if what i have read is true, Gomes and Capoue are both here (but Palace do have Townsend so depends on who he got on with), and he has already done the first half of a medical If we sign Kaboul it could be bargain of the season at £3.5m with his experience, plus it weakens a relegation rival and with three centre backs his lack of pace can be covered. Heard he is better with his feet than expected and is surprisingly mobile for such a unit. EDIT - Never mind as it just got confirmed!
This goes a little way towards making up for the ridiculously low fee that we sold Super Kev for. Defoe for £2 million and we're quits.
Apparently he wanted to move south due to personal circumstances, although I've no idea what that might entail for a foreign player with no relatives in the country.
So if he's had a pre season elsewhere that should mean he's fit enough to run away from Deeney wanting him for a snack?
There's a few Sunderland fans speculating on their message board that it *might* have something to do with the health of his infant child and being able to get some kind of specialist care in London. None of them have claimed it as fact, and it seems based on a sighting of him in a local hospital a few weeks back.
Christmas references in August? Even John Lewis has refrained from displaying christmas stuff to date
According to an article I read he originally signed for spurs in 2004, and as he is currently 30 he might have only been 18 when he signed for Spurs; if so does this mean he qualifies as a home grown player?
Not true, he didn't join Spurs until 2007. So he would have been 21/22 when he joined Spurs, depending on when his birthday lands. No HG, close though.
He has a house near Watford and he now realises Sunderland is a dump and the club themselves are at bigger risk of relegation than us.
According to the link below from the WFC Official site, Kaboul first moved to England in 2004. However, although it is a bit ambiguous whether it was to Spurs or not, it would seem to indicate he first came to England in that year, whether he was 18 or over is another story. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/younes-kaboul-joins-golden-boys
3 years English/Welsh FA registered up to and including the year his 21st birthday falls in .... I'd say he's homegrown.
If the story from the WFC official site is correct then so would I, which is potentially even better news that we have signed him :sign15: EDIT: Just checked Kaboul's Wikki page and it says he joined Spuds from Auxerre in 2007, so it looks like the WFC Official site might have ****ed up in their article, shame about that :frown: I just hope the club does not think they have bought a home grow player, if Wikki is right!
WD(40) Sport right on top of the important stuff. Kaboul has snatched the No.4 shirt right off the back of Suarez while it's still warm.
