Good name change of thread, accurate!

You know that Games change games?

Turns it it's incompetent officials. in other news the sky is blue. Well, black atm. It's 1am.

Also, here's the Ram's reaction to this: http://dcfcfans.uk/topic/17688-bournemouth-vs-watford/

    Brain's starved of oxygen atm.

Still f**king furious. In many ways that decision ws even worse than the Attwell one, genuinely baffling how he could it so wrong. The incompetent, arrogant deformed little foetus should be struck off, not demoted. Why should some team in the lower leagues have to put off with this sort of s**t?

I wholeheartedly hope that Bournemouth go bust. Horrible, sad little club.

I'm someone who normally cant stand the 'its the refs fault' merchants but that decision to send off Angella was despicable. There should be a proper sanction for crassness of that magnitude, Probert should be made to officiate at Ryman level equivalent for the rest of the season.

Whilst I agree that the referee got it so, so wrong - it should not go unnoticed that Tozser was totally to blame for the situation, wtf was he thinking? After that the game was ruined, we battled hard - Pudil should have had a red card, as should have Artur, but in reality we were stuffed. I thought we battled well enough, they were no great shakes though. It ain't over yet!

Gutted. All been said before but Probert absolutely ruined that game. There were a lot of aspects to that game from the ref's perspective actually that annoyed me. There was inconsistency in his use of advantage, an unwillingness to talk to certain players about persistent fouling, an aversion to speaking to B'mouth players about diving despite having a word with Ighalo following his theatrics... & so on. A Spurs ST holder friend came today and actually called it the worst refereeing display he'd seen in person...!

Penalty looked soft or at least needless from Cathcart (right?) given that there was no immediate danger of a shot on goal.

Team battled well though and bournemouth couldn't break the deadlock without being given a penalty. Just shows how strong we have become.

On to the next one. Hopefully there'll be less referee berating come next Saturday evening, because it isn't good for anyone.

We're not going up if we stick with this clown. Joker should have been gone after the Wolves game, being dominated at home by a team that's just come up from League One, pathetic.

Teams get promoted, and we're not a team. We can put 7 past as many part-timers as we like, you have to at least put up a fight against the top teams and we can't do that.

Blame the ref all you want, the red card was our own fault. The donkey in midfield gave away possession and Angella slid in when he shouldn't have. Look at the highlights - he's the last man when he decides to slide in, and Angella knows he's the last man - http://www.okgoals.com/match-highlights-1422658029---40. Moronic.

Who is coaching these defenders? Going by what I've seen this season I think it must be this bloke -

Or is it this fella -

Hang on....I've forgotten, who are these people and why are they still here? I wouldn't be surprised if we still have this bloke lurking round the men's changing rooms -

Although I have to say, if our defence is moulded in the form of its mentor, then surely the defensive coaching must be undertaken by this man -

This will be like the 07/08 season under Boothroyd, desperately clinging on to 6th place and then getting absolutely battered in the play-offs.

This can all be remedied by Pozzo appointing someone who knows what he's doing, not someone who makes noises in pre and post match interviews because he can't be arsed to use his vocal cords to form words.

And Pozzo if you do see sense and get someone else in that can actually manage, let him select his own coaching staff. That's generally how things are done in professional football.

And in advance of being called a "moron" by Hornet23, and possible others(as seems customary around these parts), remember this come the end of the season -

You've put a lot of effort into this post.
When the red card gets rescinded in the cold light of day by an F.A appointed panel that actually know their onions, I hope you put as much effort into coming back on here and admitting in just as much detail what an utter ar$ehole you are.

I think you need to grow up a bit and consider before you speak. What I see is a good footballing side, top for a reason. Taking the moral high ground on how fair the financing of their club is as a Watford fan is laughable at best.

Which worldwide superstars has Eddie Howe unfairly plundered with the oil billions you speak of? Marc Pugh? Charlie Daniels? Harry Arter? Steve Cook? Tommy Elphick? Yann Kermorgant? Matt Ritchie? Calum Wilson? Because all of those started last night, and most of them were with them in League 1, the rest of them were bought out of League 1. So let's not pretend because their owner is rich that Eddie Howe has done this with the Harlem Globetrotters shall we? Particularly when you have two free transfers World Cup starters from South America handed to you

Do a bit of thinking and don't get over excited and confuse a bad refereeing decision with a fair set of observations on the league leaders.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the time Deeney was flattened by one of their players.

I'm not sure who he was, but play continued while Deeney was laid out, Sky showed a replay of the incident a few minutes after it had occurred, and it showed that Deeney was clearly elbowed in the head, yet we did not even get a foul let alone the red card their player should have been given

As per my last post I looked at their starting 11 to find out that the side has indeed been assembled on a relative shoestring out of the lower leagues. I'll now go and dig out a Daily Mail article on us for all the facts on our financial history shall I?

Bournemouth signed the excellent Matt Ritchie from Swindon for c 500k in 2013. Pugh cost 100k from Hereford and Daniels 200k from Orient. Such a shame that we are unwilling to buy players such as these anymore.

I just respect a small club punching above their weight with a squad made up of league one and league two players. Same goes for Brentford. Their P&L I don't worry about, in the same way we all don't worry about the 50 odd players we have had coming into us as free transfers in our books!

Sky's version of a high tackle is 2cm off the floor these days. And Pudils was only a red if the ref deems he deliberately attempted to injure.

    Red card was a farce.

First half Bournemouth were not great tactically, Watford were good but had the disadvantage of the ref and 10 men. Can't fault us in 2nd half, hard to play with that tempo for 90 with ten men Bournemouth also figured out if they kept the ball deeper and didnt waste possession it would result in Watford getting less ball and chasing more. Equally hard to judge a team's overall ability when playing 11 v 10, but I thought on that showing they were average only with a couple of decent players.

So all in all game ruined by ref, we tried hard and have positives to take into next week.

Why all the talk of last man? Show me the section in the laws of the game that state if you are last man it's a mandatory dismissal. I'll save you the trouble, you won't find it.

The offence is denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity by a foul and in determining whether that's the applicable the referee has to consider many aspects. One of those is the position of other defenders but that's irrelevant when he pushes the ball one way and the ball goes the other and is collected by the keeper. Even if he'd hurdled the defender he pushed the ball away from him and there was no goal scoring opportunity.

You can rant as much as you like about Joka and the players, that's your opinion but regarding the dismissal, the laws of the game says you are wrong.

I am sticking to my initial view, that at worst it was a 50/50 decision, and I think that the ref has to be far more certain than that when making a decision in the first minute that will almost certainly cost the game for a team and potentially ruin the spectacle of a potential classic.

No way could Probert have been certain of that decision.

Once that clown sent Angella off, this was only going one way, aided by a penalty. We showed absolutely outstanding spirit, passsion and togetherness last night, something I've constantly criticised us for. I've been anti Joka so far, but even though last night was hard to take, I was really pleased to see that now we are a TEAM and that can only be good for the run in.

Support was outstanding (apart from the nutters) and the whole side clearly appreciated it at the end.

    Keep that passion going please.

Anya was a positive for me. His end product will always be hit and miss (even premier league players like Lennon and Walcott have this trait) but he looked back to his old best yesterday, actually running at defenders and putting the ball across. Will be a useful outlet for us if it continues and has been missing for so long.

Nothing much I can add really that hasn't already been posted and debated before..

It was a bad decision..I thought so at the match at the time so I'm relieved to read the opinions of others on here this morning and to hear that the tv people thought the same. Very very disappointing. That said, we put ourselves in the position for such a poor decision to be made by needlessly giving the ball away (Tozser I think, whose attempted clearance that led to the penalty was also very poor as I'm afraid was his failure to stop the cross for the second goal). Obviously it shouldn't have been a red but still, we put ourselves in a dangerous position after 26 seconds by *****ing about..

I thought up to the first goal we competed very well, even looking the better side at one stage. But once we'd fallen behind, the writing was on the wall. In terms of actual goal attempts, nothing much seemed to gel up front and we were restricted to long range shots. I remember thinking second-half last week I'd swap a couple of the 7 for goals last night. Happens doesn't it, even with eleven men, you can score all your goals one week and run out of luck the next.

Gomes our man of the match, kept the score reasonable. But hard to assess our players too much because of the numerical disadvantage. Pudil, sadly, an embarassment. Anya remains as frustrating as ever.

Fully understand some of the sour grape comments directed at Bournemouth on here, but how I see it is they are a well run club who've been allowed to build stable foundations over the past couple of seasons. They've kept the same starting eleven very consistent this season, allowing key partnerships to build at the back, in midfield, up top. They've also got a well thought of manager in control of what happens at the club and one who knows our division well. In short, the total opposite of the way we've handled our campaign so far. We're at that time of the season now where winning is everything, it's not so much about how you win. I'd have them as favourites for one of the two automatics.

And us? Well it's hard to assess last night too much because of the huge injustice of the red card, but the cold facts are it's another non-win against one of the top sides, it's Jokanovic's 8th defeat in charge (we were top 3 when he took over, remember) and it's another chance gone to try and build some sort of consistent run for now. That's my summation of his reign so far, frustratingly inconsistent. We've not yet gone more than 4 games unbeaten under him and that was at the start of his reign when we were on a good unbeaten run anyway. If we cannot find some level of consistency between now and May, instead of the 'great win one week, Birmingham/Wolves/Huddersfield/Bournemouth disasterous setback the next', even the play-offs aren't guaranteed, make no mistake about that. And what a scandalous waste of a season that would be.

    Still much to do.

I've watched the whole game again, and reading the 'sensible' comments, there are a few believe me, No comment on the red card as everything has already been said.

The incident and the goal were unfortunately down to Tozser, firstly getting caught in possession and then not getting a block or tackle to stop the cross.

Many on here berate Pudil, and tbh he is a ball follower, it was akin to watching a Sunday league footballer last night.

One thing that did impress during the game is that everyone wanted the ball and didn't shirk from the responsibility.

Deeney was immense, ran himself into the ground.

Gomes as good as his shot stopping is, catch the ****ing ball ffs!

The Watford fans never stopped, and much credit goes to them for the way they sounded on TV.

Final point Mr Probert is a ****!

Many people will not share my opinion, but I watched the game with the mindset that I would be very happy with a draw.

After 26 seconds, I knew that it would be a loss but for me, that's where you see the inner character of a team.

It was only a few weeks ago that we were saying we had a squad of individuals that weren't playing for eachother, well, tonight proved to me that we now have a team!

My favourite moment of the match was Deeney puffing his cheeks out and taking on three players and battling like his life depended on it. He won a free kick in the end and got cook that yellow.

The abuse in the chat that Pudil got was just wrong. Since the Pozzos took over, he has been a consistent force. This season is slightly different, he's not Slavs favourite, his mindset, coming on after 70 minutes, is one of wanting to impress and get in the team. He wants it badly is on occasion is trying to hard. I just wish people have him slack for his previous fantastic performance in a hornets shirt!

    Gomes was solid last night.
Cathcart was faultless until the penalty, which can happen to the best players in the world.
Anya made some excellent runs, but needed a slightly better end product.
    Ighalo made some beautiful runs.
Deeny was a lion of a captain. He did not stop running.
Layon and toszer were off the pace, but so far have been impressive for us so one bad game won't change my opinion.

I respect people's views on here, but last night felt like people stopped believing. Even though we lost, I am confident our team will be challenging for those top two spots.

Lee Probert let us down, not our team!

While there remains no accountability for refs for decisions like this, decisions like this will keep being made.

In this day and age where so much money is dependent on the outcome of these games, it seems unbelievable that such massive crucial points of a game are decided by a single person who, more often than not, is in the wrong position on the pitch to make those decisions in the first place*, and who will not have to answer to anyone for what is basically just their opinion.

It was always going to be tough, but I didn't think we did battle especially well and I felt that our passing and control were poor at times. Often promising positions just ended in a hopeful pass - though I accept that might be the way with 10 men. We certainly can't close the door and are clumsy at the back.

As yet we haven't done well against the top sides, or even a well organised side. Much to be optimistic for, but we really need to improve our application.

Writing this looking out over the B'mouth seafront and after a full English brekky just about calmed down enough to write a few things on last nights game.

Proberts refereeing was shyte of 5 crucial decisions he got 1 right and that was their penalty. The sending off was a farce, he totally bottled the Arter tackle giving a yellow card when it was a red all day long. We should have had a penalty from Iggys header it was definitely hand to ball was behind the goal and saw it clearly and lastly Pudil should have had a red.

Now had he got these right B' moth would have played over half the game with 10 men and it would have been a totally different game.

Our away support was superb sitting at the other end of the ground they were loud all game. The B'mouth supporters around us were a miserable lot and spent much of the game screaming abuse at our players which was quite amusing after a while.

Thought the work level of our 10 men was immense and difficult to criticise anyone as had we had 11 players it would have been a different game. Disappointed that Probert ruined what should have been one of the best games of the season but lets just focus on beating Blackburn next week.
