Supposedly nani and Scott duxbury are involved and they did far from a good job at WHU...

The Pozzo blueprint is very, very different to what was going on at West Ham. I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. Pozzo has a clearly defined way of doing business and it doesn't involve taking punts on expensive older players. I'd assume that under Pozzo, the 3 mentioned would be operating in a much different manner.

We don't want any of these three anywhere near our club but particularly not or Nani. Bad news.

Good article that three monkeys piece that was flagged up

I agree with most of the sentiment expressed here and Sean's done an amazing job so deserves at least a season, but...

What loyalty have managers in the modern game shown Watford? Dyche is no different, if he had another season where he outperformed and got an offer from a bigger club he'd be off..

If its best for the club I'll support whatever the owners decide...

I have no problem with Zola to be honest, and I wouldn't be too pissed off if he became manager.

It's Nani/Duxbury I have a problem with after their travesty at West Ham which was more to do with the running of the club and their transfer policy, controlled by Nani/Duxbury.

I also have no problem with a director of football, I think it's a good idea with the Pozzo's approach. But not Nani. He can vaffanculo.

I'd rather have Mussolini-tattoo'd Di Canio if an italian manager is manditory. At least he looks like he has some genuine ability at the job. IMO Zola really doesn't.

Zola comes across as a really nice bloke, and Di Canio seems like complete ****. But I'd still rather have the latter.

Know it's already being discussed in another thread, but thought it might be worth starting a new thread with an official title to discuss it in now it's 100% confirmed.

No idea if it was deliberate, but it was quite good that the club announced Dyche's departure and Zola's appointment 24 hours apart.

That way, Dyche got all the praise and thanks he deserved without news of his departure being overshadowed by the Zola news.

If it was deliberate, it was a nice touch.

no not really, unless you believe what i'm gonna say is moaning. the 2 year deal means two things to me: either the pozzos don't have enough faith in him to last for more than 2 years following the west ham debarcle, or they want us to get promoted within 2 years

Fantastic that we know who our manager will be for the forthcoming season. We have confirmed new owners, and a confirmed new manager. No more uncertainty!!

I think we will see a sizeable amount of transfer activity in the coming week... a few strikers would be lovely Gianfranco!

All very professionally handled by the pozzos so far. If they can just close up the leak to the Italian press it would be better though.

You are right. Zola has 2 years to get us promoted. If not, he will go. The Pozzo's do not mess around with managers and are not afraid to sack them if needed.

in that case i'd put a hefty bet on us getting promoted once the odds are listed both this year and next because I severely doubt Zola wants to be out of job again

    Quick quiz question for you..

Other than both being Watford managers, what else links Sean Dyche and Zola? Both have done something in a footballing sense...

Glad it's been made official. The speculation can finally end and we can get on with building a squad for the coming season. Time to move on and support Zola fully now. I think he'll turn out to be a good appointment in the end. He's certainly got the profile to attract the sort of players we'll need to make a mark on this division. Hopefully with the Pozzo scouting network taking care of business, we'll avoid the likes of Savio and Tristan that plagued West Ham - which is pretty much the only criticism that comes from his time at WHFC.

Sure to be an exciting couple of weeks as our playing squad begins to take shape.

I did that a few months back. At work we had a few guys over from one of our US offices and we took them out for a few beers in London. Making small talk with one of them I asked whereabouts in the US he's from and he said he's Canadian. We didn't speak for the rest of the evening...

Probably not the answer, but both scored in what at the time was the biggest game in their respective clubs' histories. Dyche for Chesterfield in an FA Cup Semi, Zola in the Cup Winners' Cup final.

Easiest way to tell is ask them to say 'about'.

If they say 'aboot' they're Canadian.

If they say 'yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' they're American.

Don't think so because Zola's Parma lost 1-0 to Arsenal.

Close NWW. Both scored in FA Cup Semi Finals..Dyche for Chesterfield, Zola for Chelsea.

Along with owners who have some financial backing and some acsess to more resources, plus a known name as manager, will come big expectation.

How he copes with championship football will be interesting and the test. best of luck to him
