To take Watford to the next level..ie, to get us to the Prem League and then to hopefully become a club with a chance of not coming straight back down again..we FIRST have to get out of the Championship.

We currently have a manager who knows the division and was busy building a squad he thought was capable of that, especially with a bit of extra money behind him.

Remove him and you remove that knowledge.

McLaren and Erikson appeared in our division last season did they not? Both with big reputations, one with money. Neither lasted long.

And Atkins and McDermott went up instead.

Gianluca Nani was responsible for the transfers who's definitely coming in.

Absolutely. And when people say the only alternative is administration, isn't this what we've been ridiculing Cardiff for?

I don't think you can compare sacking an employee with changing the team's colours on a whim to make them more marketable in South East Asia or withdrawing any funding for the club altogether.

Dyche deserves to stay but if the takeover goes through it seems to me that a new manager will come in.

The (potential) buyers will want to protect their asset which is costing them circa £20m and therefore will want their own man. Now this might mean a reshuffle at Watford and Dyche staying on in a slighty different role but I think it is more likely that he will be replaced.

If this is the price we have to pay for financial stability and possible promotion, and the ability to stay up in the Premiership, then its a sacrifice worth taking albeit, a pity, bearing in mind what Dyche achieved last season.

Also, it would be nice to be able to hang on to our best players in future and see players such a Murray, Mariappa, Hogg & Massey still playing for us in a few years time rather than being flogged off to the first half-decent offer we get. Where would we have finished this season if we still had Danny Graham & Sordell playing for us?

'Loyalty works both ways', it's just a shame for Dyche that the people who were loyal to him are no longer at the club.

Obviously everything is speculation for now. No takeover happened. No Zola arrival.

But if it did happen, it will be interesting to see who the backroom team would be. He had Steve Clarke as his Number 2 at West Ham and you'd imagine that was a fairly important appointment alongside an inexperienced manager.

I'm worried about all this talk of Zola but would reserve full judgement until (if it happens) we knew what staffl Zola would bring in to work alongside.

I know I will probably be a minority on here but I would actualy like to see Zola herejust becausaus I loved the guy when I was a kid I used to buy Italy shirts because he was my favoroute player I never thought he would be at my beloved Watford even as a manager, although on another note I would be disapointed if we got rid of Dyche after his success last season.

I really would like to see Dyche stay. He was one of the best managers in the league last season.

    An Italian manager.

    Loan signings from Udinese.

Biggish name signings, most probably from overseas.

Much welcomed financial stability, though the uncertainty that comes with any new boss or change of regime.

Huge expectations, more media coverage and the envy of other clubs our size.

But is it the recipe to get out of the Championship?

    Time will tell.

Is the only reason Zola's name being suggested because he's italian,or has there been actual interest in him?

A piece in the Italian press linked him with us if/when the Pozzo family took over either yesterday or today.

Supposedly Gianluca Nani who was Director of Football at West Ham has been approached by the Pozzos to run the club on their behalf and he wants his BFF Gianfranco Zola as Manager whose agent and papers in Italy have being saying is set to be appointed.

I'm pretty sure Dychey will be given his chance. Probably less time than he'd have had in other circumstances... but these discussions have been going on long enough by the sounds of things. I hope for his sake he's still manager come kick-off against Palace as I think he really could be a top top manager, especially at this level.

That said, no man is bigger than the club, and it's entirely up to the new owners.

I do hope Dyche gets his chance though. He was nominated for manager of the season for a reason. I reckon he'd be even better with more than a shoe-string budget to work with.

Ah fair enough. If i were them i would wanna get the fans onside and i don't think appointing a new manager straight away would do themselves any favours, but hey there the owners not me.

I'm sure the new owners will want us to have a good manager. Well, we've already got a bloody good one. If they get rid I would be very worried about how this is all going to pan out.

Not necessarily, it was the plan when I found out about this 4-5 months ago, so I thought i'd have a little go. Could definitely have changed by now, although from what I'm hearing, contact has been made. This doesn't mean when they speak to Dyche this cant change, he's almost interviewing for the job again.

We don't want to be like QPR, but we have to accept these guys are making a massive investment in our club, they have every right to have the man in charge that they wish. We are so lucky we have been chosen by Pozzo you don't understand, we'd be in deep **** if it wasn't for him, and trust me i'd be so jealous of any other team in our position right now. As for those commenting on whether Pozzo had come and seen Dyche's team before the end of the season, he or his son never actually attended any games, but representatives watched 5-6 games.

In all seriousness, if Dyche goes and we are successful, none of you will even remember who he was in 3 months' time.

But if he goes and we're not successful, he was the next Alex Ferguson.
