If Marvin played alongside a partner of equal ability and with service of Premiership quality he'd be an England international.

Marvin impressed me last night, I was happy with his performance and like others have said, it will only have increased his value. However, his performance has also told me that he is not ready for premier league football just yet, and to move to a club like Fulham now would in my opinion harm his development. He needs to stay with us until this summer at the very least, maybe even longer.

I think you're getting way ahead of yourself Moog. Yeah it would really help his development, but there were plenty of times last night where he dawdled on the ball when he should have used his pace or gone for the shot. When he starts getting more of those decisions right is when he could and probably should be playing in the premier league.

Last night he caused more problems for Kaboul then Aguero and Dzeko put together at the weekend, I think that says a lot

I was surprised how much space Spurs allowed him, meaning he could receive the ball without pressure which seldom happens at Championship level.
This allow him to show more, as it doesn't take the physical stuff like a Hendo or an HH, which is understandable as he has a different game and other skills.

Pleased for him and the other s that raised their game in a high profile match, like Prince Buaben.

    Sell, sell, sell :)

Thought Arry was going to buy him in about the 75th minute to stop him from tearing up his defense.

Possibly on his way to Cardiff in January, maybe Malky can get him going again. Would you have him back here, given the opportunity?

Wouldn't have him back personally, didn't rate him that highly and I don't believe he's any better than Vydra,Deeney,Geijo or Forestieri.

I would most definitely have him back.I know some (LBH) criticised him for his efforts last time round but surely an experience like the one he's had at Bolton would sort him out? He still has bags of ability and loads of pace - yes please.

Yep would have him back. He would have to fight for his place in the first team now which will ensure he uses his talent and puts in the effort.

I don't think we want him back. He's not going to improve the front line any (Vydra and Fessi are both far better, and Deeney has really stepped up), and he won't get many games as a result. Just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I hope he gets his career back on track; he's another example the academy can point at when they tell the kids about the dangers of moving too early.

I'd guess that reading between the lines of his conversation with his agent on the train, overheard by a reporter.... Watford are not interested in having him back

In fairness to Marvin, I think it's pretty much accepted now that he was forced out by Baz. But your point still stands, that it's a good example to use of a player leaving before he should - just in this case, he didn't exactly go by choice.

For what it's worth, I don't think we've got room in the squad for him. Vydra and Forestieri are very good, Deeney has stepped up and Geijo has looked useful in his run outs.

I don't see how he was "forced out" by Baz. He had a contract and could have insisted that Watford honour it. I believe the basic reason he went was for money i.e probably a large signing on fee, a much more lucrative contract and the chance (at the time) of Premiership football.

Things have moved on from 12 months ago and to be honest, if Bolton don't consider he is good enough for them, then why would he be good enough for the new Watford squad. I think Assombalonga has got more potential than Sordell now.

I don't want him back here. He's OK at this level, but there are other players out there who would cost us less and be just as good.

y did bolton panic buy in the first place - its sort of like when spurs were muted as to offering bundles for loachy because he was the in thing in the div at the time -majority of these in players get bought at exagerated prices -most aren't crown jewels at all but financial savers for clubs like wfc under shyte poor scum canuting owners.

I thought it was his agent who persuaded him to go for the money and he (stupidly) listened? I'd have him back in a heartbeat because I still think he's good at this level but Bolton aren't using him right/not using him. Hell look at their league position and you'll see how clueless Coyle was and now Freedman is. As for Malky poaching him I really wouldn't be surprised but aren't they also linked with Darren Bent? Bent would be better for them if they do get promoted than Sordell.

Touted around 5-10 clubs on deadline day to pay the bills for the remainder of the season, especially after Mapps turned down Wigan

Not his fault, he didnt want to leave at that moment in time

Is it? I've seen the contradictory stories from Baz and MS's agent, but I haven't seen anything that proves who was telling the truth; I'd appreciate a link, if I've missed something. :)

Regardless, Sordell could have just said no to the move, if it was Baz forcing him out. He was a first teamer and there is no way the club/SD wouldn't have played him if he was fit, so turning down the move wouldn't have hurt him at all. I think he was blinded from his U-21 success and the prospect of playing in the Prem, though, and probably didn't even think twice once Baz accepted the bid, but I base that on reading between the lines and nothing especially solid. If anyone can add clarity, it would be appreciated. :)

In a choice of one person's word against another, when one of those people is Bas, the sensible people are trusting the person who isn't Bas.

I'm not sure what you mean. Bas is a man of integrity, possessing even more than Brendan Rodgers.

Indeed. Bassini is not exactly trustworthy. He has wasted much of his time benchwarming as many England prospectives seem to do nowadays at what is a critical stage in their development.

Depends on him if he want's to show what he has got with another club or if he is content like several others to pick up a pay packet and fritter his career away. Bolton will be hard pressed to be promoted this season so a move to someone like Manky's Rejects might suit him.

If one of the people is Bas you can generally assume the other party is telling the truth

A stumbling point could be his wages at Bolton. Whereas Cardiff would have no trouble whatsoever matching Sordells current deal, I suspect that Crystal Palace and a few other Chapionship teams would find this difficult.

Reckon he'll join either Millwall or Charlton on loan. Can't see us being interested to be honest.
