So we have taken off Z cars for the player entry again. Having only been to the Vic 3 times and all before I was aware there was such a thing as Z cars, I don't know what I am missing. Being Danish I never heard of the TV show, but I presume the music is the theme from the show? Can anyone explain the reason behind us using it in the first place, the on/off relationship the club seems to havewith the particular piece of music and - most importantly - a link to somewhere I might hear the tune so I can make up my own mind about it.
That was quick - thanks. Tried googling for it and found out it's also Everton's tune for player entry. Don't know what to say now really. In DK, I have to say songs chosen are more powerful I guess with Lyngby BK - my home town club - using Thunder by AC/DC, Van Halen's Jump is used by Brøndby IF and in general - rock anthems are the popular choices. I know I may offend people here and that I am messing with tradition, but to me, the tune - Z cars theme - isn't exactly what I'd associate with going to football match. More the tune playing whilst driving in the countryside on the way to a family picnic. I can't see it getting fans reved up for 90 minutes of noise. Can't see it helping us build the fortress Aidy is asking for. IF we were to select a different signature tune, I'd go for one with a bit more ooomph like Jet's "Cold Hard *****" or BTO's "Ain't seen nothing yet" or at least something along those lines. What would you go for - Z cars or something else?
