Thank you Aidy for finally giving me something i've been wanting for weeks now! Bouazza playing in his best position upfront alongside Ash with Henderson on the bench! I was crying out about 4-6 weeks ago for this partnership and most people moaned saying 'well what about our long ball, who's going to win the headers?' Well as was shown tonight you don't need to hit the ball head height to play a direct tactic! We did very well in getting the ball WIDE and down the side of their defence and using our pace! When we hit the ball to Henderson in the air how many times does he actually win a header? Not many! This tactic with Bouazza and Young is far more effective at this level and against a lesser side we would have won tonight, make no mistake about it! I thought Macca came in and did superbly...he's worthy of a chance in the side for the next few weeks! Bouazza's best position is upfront playing through the centre...when he's out left and we pump the ball down the middle he's too isolated to have an impact on a game consistantly! Young and Bouazza when they get the ball to feet and run at players they're better than alot of other attackers at this level! Now we're starting to look more like the Watford of last season...less long ball and more wing play and pace! Good stuff...great performance and deserving of at least a point! Down side is that Danny and Hammeur will be out for about a month at least! Mariappa was also superb tonight...his first half display was one of the best i've seen from a Watford individual for a long time! He's going to be a star in the making! We'll come straight back up next season if we can keep this squad together and sign a new left back, central midfielder and striker! U ornsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I agree, Marriappa was great along with Bouazza and young Bouazza was giving arsenal tones of proplems! i bet they were over the moon when he went off Shittu and Bouazza will be missed but we'll have to cope with out them! Come On U 'Ornsss!!
what would your team be for wigan though as we're missing boozer? stick in priskin or revert back to the 'hendo' way?
after the performance tonight without Hendo, I would say no, but with Hameur missing? I doubt priskin will get a start.
exactly. difficult one for aidy. he could gamble and try to play the way we did tonight using priskin in the role of boozer or go back with hendo (which i can see him doing im afraid )
I hope not, but then dropping hendo may prove to be the inspiration he needs? we can live in hope!! Not sure Priskin is the right type of player to replace Hameur though?
You may be right but i'm afraid to say this was only for the Arsenal match. Aidy was merely resting Hendo in time for the more physical games such as Wigan.
aidy finnally decides to do something about the long ball crap and then bouazza gets injured back to hoofing i sense tho id love to see priskin get the nod ahead of hendo its never gunna happen he didnt even get the nod over francis when bouazza first got injured says a lot really
must shatter priskin confidence unless booty has had a word with him to tell him why he's not playing him.
that conversation would go sumtin like this: oh yes frankly i dont think your very good oh a striker is injured lets send on a central midfielder then he winks at priskin
