If this appointment has really happened, I'm just waiting for Ivic to win Sports Personality of the Year to cap off a truly random 2020.
He said €15. Will take £10 English. Not available on Tuesday afternoon or Thursday morning. Ski lessons/downhill/slalom practice.
Remember when Duxbury said at the end of last season they had made mistakes that have been learnt from............
I applaud your optimism. I will go for at least 12 games as after this year I'm feeling mildly all over the shop.
Wow. I even got a name check in there. Ebeneezer Ross giving me rent free accommodation in his psyche for Christmas
Gino will be visited by three ghosts. Christmas Past - Gianfranco Zola Christmas Present - Isaac Success Christmas Future - Andy Alderson, Vanarama CEO
Its all so ******* ridiculous that its actually funny. Anyone remember Dream Team? Even that show didn't have storylines as stupid as this. If they were just looking for any old **** to be the manager, I reckon I'd have fitted the brief. I got Watford to win the Champions League on Fifa! And I managed to sign James Ward-Prowse! I'm the full package! Seriously though, **** you Gino, you dumb c*nt.
Gino could pull down the GT statue and LouOrns would knock out a twitter thread full of stats and video analysis arguing how it was a genius move
I’ve decided to be optimistic after all the gloom and have no option but to move stealthily back into the COG camp. I support my club and don’t want to be a miserable bedwetter - It may feel warm for a while but it will get cold and uncomfortable. If we keep rolling the dice it’s bound to come up with a 6 sometime? All this negativity- pah! I’m getting behind our new no mark foreign unknown inexperienced coach, he could be the one! (Btw does he speak English)?
Looking forward to the Georgian football expert to show up on Hive Live. Incidentally, his name is likely to be Hivelivili.
Obviously a completely bonkers appointment, but I am clinging to the fact that it seriously can't get much worse than some of the stuff served up under Ivic. Win or lose, hopefully the matches won't feel like watching paint dry at a funeral any more.
I actually thought Deeney had been made manager when I read the thread title. Considering the state of play atm that wouldn't even surprise me if it was real.
Exciting appointment. Learnt under Benitez and his assistant sounds good too. HMS Piss The League has a new captain boys.
Anyone got his stats on FM21? That is the only explanation I can think of for his appointment It is entertaining though, and with such a dearth of entertainment on the pitch these days it is kind of the club to give us this interesting talking point to liven up our evening. Maybe we can get a new manager before every match to liven things up a bit? Then we don't need to worry about watching our tedious matches anymore
I have to say so did I can't tell you the relief I got when I realised that he wasn't. The relief didn't last long because I remembered that we still have a lad who has managed a few games in Georgian league as our head coach. We really do support a peculiar football club.
As always I will give him the benefit of the doubt. However, if/when it goes to rat sh*t the only people that should be leaving the club are Pozzo and Duxbury along with that pri*k Deeney. Hope it works out, however, very sceptical. Let's face it, what has Pozzo got right over the last 18-24 months?! Not a lot!
Surely this has got to be the most pessimistic we've been of any Pozzo appointment? Every other guy there's been at least a mixed reception, but with Xisco he's either being panned, or just recognise that he's on an absolute hiding to nothing. God, what are we hoping for from this season now?
Personally I want this absolute no-mark to lead us to a glorious 5-0 victory at the Kenel before he graciously steps aside. Would just make it a tiny bit sweeter.
It's easy to be despondent by this appointment, and rightly so. He's done nothing to earn a chance at the club considered the favourite to bounce straight back to the Premier League. He's not even qualified to be Watford's head coach if we do go up. It's such a nonsense it's almost comical. However, he's been around good coaches and decent set-ups. It's not as if he's a bank manager who has never played football before. His assistant has come through the Barcelona ranks too. Its one of those bonkers set-ups that we're throwing a dice at and hope it works. For me, you need to have some kind of experience to gain a promotion. But if we really do have this super squad that only needs pointing in the right direction, maybe that's all what is needed? All the stories coming out from Ivic clearly was the wrong profile for the club. Sometimes a club does need a good shake-up, and that's what happened when Pearson came in. He had an instant impact, but it was short lived. We were on the decline with Pearson well before the lockdown and the Liverpool result came completely out of the blue at the time. The poor form continued after shutdown as well, so that shock to the system only has an immediate impact, not a long term one. The mistake was to hire another coach who had even more draconian methods than even Pearson. It sounds like Ivic was rude, arrogant and a bit of a sod. It's no surprise the players didn't like him. This new guy will be a breath of fresh air. I think the players will respond positively to him, but he does need to convince the squad he knows what he's talking about. He will have to be able to control them and not let them do what they like. Not to the level of Ivic, but he will have to be the boss, not Mr Nice Guy. Occasionally you meet certain people who don't need to shout or be a control freak in order to gain respect. These individuals do stand out. I'm hoping that Munoz is such a character. If he is, then his lack of experience maybe forgiven as if players like him and his methods, they may play for him. That's all we need here. Players enjoying their football and playing for the coach. If he gets this respect and knows what he's talking about, then it may just work out. But, it's a very big gamble there's no doubt about that.
