The 'grapevine' is suggesting that hes gone, just waiting on announcement Clearly the right decision and I still maintain that giving him the job in the first place last season was ridiculous and the fact that promotion was subsequently achieved doesn't change that. Clearly a nice guy but hes been out of his depth from day 1
Or fans of other clubs... Many years ago I often used to get perplexed if not annoyed seeing messages from other fans calling for their managers' head despite him winning a lot of games recently (or even at the time), before the obvious dawned on me, that I'm not the one who sees their games week in, week out and the cracks the wins have papered over. Feels a bit weird to be on the other side of the fence, given that normally when we want our managers out, that's when the results have largely been crap!
Well we sacked a manager for getting 4 points in 2 games before ! And one who was MOTM .. They shouldn’t be surprised!
Still good odds from the bookies on him going. Just got 9/4. Hope I wake up to find out Pozzo’s paid for my lunch.
I cane feel it in water that he will be gone before I stick my teeth into my lazy brunch tomorrow morn.
Well they either hauled him into a meeting when they got back this evening or they're going to sleep on it and get him in tomorrow morning. I think we'll get an announcement tomorrow afternoon.
WELL, I gave it a solid 8/10. I extended my my walk and got troubled by horses, but that's a story for another time.
Haven’t been told anything outright but reading between the lines of what I have heard I think a bet on Xisco as next PL manager to be sacked wouldn’t be a bad investment…
I do feel sorry for Xisco, I'll forever be grateful for him for playing his part in us going up, but boy is he woefully out of his depth at the moment. Better he goes now while we at least have some points on the board and a bit of a cushion (yeah yeah, I know our fixtures to come), than say, December time like Pearson did when it could be curtains
All depends on whether we’ve got a decent replacement lined up or an out of work freebie from somewhere in Eastern Europe. I know we have been so poor but it’s a tough call to sack a manager when we aren’t even in the bottom 6, unless we have a good replacement lined up. Pardew? Deeney player-manager ?
Lasso took Richmond to the FA Cup semi-final and used his connections to get Jamie Tarrt on a free. Better CV than Xisco.
I do think Gino had lost his balls of late, but he’s not totally daft. We had one of the best championship squads ever, competing against clubs that had been ground down by FFP and lost about 90% of their income. Munoz was undoubtedly still a gamble but all he really had to do is point the team in the right direction. The PL is a different challenge entirely, Gino isn’t just going to pluck another work experience kid from Eastern Europe because it’s not remotely the same task as last season, his track record of appointing managers to fulfil specific tasks is generally pretty good, and this is a completely different task to last season, which he will appreciate (again, he’s not an idiot) he just lost his way with that by retaining Munoz in the first place.
According to Leventhal (I know, doesn’t mean much) he’s on the brink! Will probably sign a new deal now.
I agree with but he lost the plot after the cup final. Retaining gracia that summer was the start of a series of catastrophic decisions. Unless the manager is some highly experienced Italian then his madness continues.
Cognitive dissonance in full flow in those replies. The owners are the bestest but we can’t keep sacking coaches as it’s not fair!
Stev3 Bruce 7 wins out of the last 37 premier league matches for Newcas5ke. I would still prefer him to Xisco.
Other than Sarr, our champ squad really wasn’t that great and wholly inadequate to survive in the prem. This summers strengthening initially looked great but the reality has turned out to be a little different.
