I was thinking maybe a bid for HH? Forget it, QPR sold Blackstock so they will need him. Danny Webber wouldn't be a bad shout though.
He is a free agent, to be honest I think he would rather be earning about £5000 a week playing for us, than not playing at all, even if its only on a 1 or 2 year deal. And that Graham thing is a farce.
Webber would be a replacement for Smith and not Priskin. Priskins' biggest asset to us was his finishing - Webber's finishing leaves a lot to be desired.
I would call Webber a striker, not a right winger/"in the hole" forward, and I didn't see anyone complaining when he had 12 goals in 13 games before he dislocated his shoulder and was later sold to the blunts the folllowing January.
Henderson scored 8 in 7 or something like that one September...doesn't make him a quality striker much the same as 12 in 13 scored nearly 5 years ago doesn't make Webber the goalscoring striker we need to replace.
So be it, but you have to look at what we can get... You think we are going to be able to lure someone worth about £1m to Watford with 1 and a half days left before the season starts... Fee, Medical, Personal terms and all that... ...We need to seriously look at what we can get, or we may have to resort to not letting Ellington go out on loan. Webber is a free agent, and I feel he could do a job for us this season, whether it be cover, or forming a partnership. But don't worry, it's Malky's job to find someone.
