Seems he's English (London born) of Nigerian ancestry. Nice to see us signing up a bright potential talent that will count as a homegrown player. Seems likely Zola will work wonders with this one, if the boy's head is screwed on right.

 

If this is true the lad doesn't sound too shabby. Hopefully we'll see him break through this season. Quite amusing we've nicked one of Readings future stars.

 

It's no more than Udinese has been doing for years (snapping up young talent from under the noses of competitors) only now they've started in England. Slick. Nice.

 

And with the way our team is being set out to play, who knows? Maybe see some England international players who can do more than kick and rush in 6-7 years time.

According to the Twitterverse, Uche rejected their pro contract for ours because we offered him first-team football. Huh?

 

Maybe reading weren't willing to send him out on loan, but we would be? (for first team football)

 

if hes as good as it seems then he could be first choice back up for Deeney, so hopefully we ll see some of him this season.

Could also mean we dont need to sign Ranegie, freeing up a loan spot.

 

The implication being that they were just gonna play him in their U-21 team in the EPPP leagues? Why would you do that to someone especially when you have been bigging that person up to be the next big thing and especially with those figures he has in the U-18 leagues

 

If this is true and he ends up being even half as good as his idol Drogba, then we have really hit the jackpot here, he sounds sensational.

Decent figures, but let's remember that a lot of big and powerful strikers do a lot of damage at that level because it's basically a case of men against boys. When they come up against fully grown adults who are just as big and strong, they aren't nearly as effective. Still, it's nice that he's looked at us and thought that we're a decent bet to further his development.

 

Sounds a decent signing if true..but as Luke says, don't forget his numbers relate to Under 18s. He sounds very promising and it could be a very good coup for us, but he won't be ready to step into the first team at once i'd imagine, it's one for the future...

If we had an under 21 team then he, Mensah and Assombalonga would do terrible terrible things to teams. Hope all three of them go out on loan, I suspect all three won't make it with us so they all really need football this season.

 

IMO the EPP U21 leagues have not worked out. The players are not getting the real workout that the need to progress. It is far better they go out on loan to get experience.
That is one reason why I am glad that we didn't got for a Cat 1/2 academy. We can play our U18s in the equivalent for Cat3/4 academies U21 league with the schoolboys backing them up and send our promising youngsters out to get first team football at lower leagues.

 

Sounds like a pretty level headed kid. I imagine he'll be shipped out on loan though.

 

Things bode well for the future< I have to agree these three would make one hell of a strike force..........

No he didn't according to what I had read about him, and if you remember to start with he wasn't that good, if fact very few of the loanees were.

I can only suppose that GFZ must have brought the best out of them, though even that didn't work with all of them.

 

If you had bothered to do the slightest bit of research on him you would have seen that he was a very good player or at the very least had the potential to be at this level.
