Like Hoskins? He's better than anyone we'll get, there's your mobility. It's up to malky to play him.
I agree with this entirely but Malky's not gonna play him, its pretty obvious that Hoskins is a ****, seems to fall out with every manager
Looks like we won't be breaking our own structure at all. Lets not forget he has been punted around since the end of last season, with no takers. The realisation has probably hit home that to get back playing he needs to lower his money expectations. I am sure before the approach was made or at worse early in the process he was told what would be on offer would not replicate or come close to his current deal and by the fact the talks progressed would leave you to believe he wasn't totally against what was on offer.
I reckon you about right on that, and I would not be at all surprised to see him back here in the near future.
a speedy and mobile striker is useless without gd awareness...case example is hoskins....tends to make pointless runs in the wrong directions. with a fairly young attacking force i think a bit of intelligence upfront wouldnt go a miss.
What's his contract at situation at Soton, Bobby? The WO just says he 'will leave'. Are we buying him or another loan? Trouble with a loan is that they work great for younger players eager to impress their home club manager (Mr Cleverly) but older players are really just picking up the cheque... I'm unconvinced GR is the answer but if he does come back in, I'd like to see a permy deal of some sort if poss... But again, wages surely will be an issue...? As has been mentioned, Hoskins could at least provide a bit of cover IMO if he sorts his attitude out and drops the daft orange boots...
i think by the end of the week we will have offloaded ellington and brought in gregor raziak on slightly more than 8 per week now this might not be ideal but we can hopefully save some money in wages and keep some money from transfers back untill jan then have a look and see what we actually need player wise?
Ellington seems to produce the goods when playing at a lower level, so maybe a loan swap might do the trick for both clubs? We take on Rasiaks wages and they take on Ellingtons? At least we would be paying less wages for Rasiak and strangely enough Ellington seems to be **** hot when playing at lower levels, so he would probably do a really good job for Southampton and play more like his old self, which makes the extra wages worthwhile for them, whereas he cannot seem to do it at Championship level? It must be a confidence thing, he just does not believe he can do it at Championship level or above, though in reality he has got the talent to do so.
Following on from this point, if at any point Danny Graham got injured we could always play Will Hoskins as his replacement, because I though that Hoskins and Rasiak have always linked up well when playing together. Or he could be the experienced player to guide Sordell through the season if he needs to come in.
Chap on GH reckons the Rasiak deal is 100% certain. Good news (if he keeps fit) Graham can do the running up front for him!
I was told on Saturday by a source of mine that it is just about done, but your figure of £8k a week is off the mark..it's not that much.
"Pardew says that one player has ben left out as hes having talks with another club, Rasiaks left out, i assume hes going Watford?". Anyone know?
