how should we approach this a) - all out like the abandoned game ( we played very very well before they hit us on the break) b) - safety first, tight and wait for openings c) - let them attack us and counter attack. we need the win more than them? we will be too far behind if we lose the game, if we draw will be the wrong side of 'in the balance', if we win, then thunderbirds are go!!!
Id definately say we need to go at them and attack. Lets face it we need wins to stay up and nothing less. Beat Wigan and we'll have a good chance of staying up with the fixtures we have left.
also we are behind them on goal differece and ahead of spam and charlton. A very nice 3-0 or 4-1 would really stir the GD tally
all out attack, we're much better when going forward.... And yes...3 pts ...thunderbirds are go " whistles the great escape"
all out attack Foster Jay Shittu Chambers Mahon Stewart Hammer Kabba Hendo Hoskins Johan bench Marriapa Macca Smith Priskin Francis
We MUST win - they can afford to draw. They will probably sit back and wait for us - expecting us to come full throttle. In my mind that's what we have to do though. Lineup - well I am waiting for Moose to put up the Player Lottery for that match so no tips from me ;o)
I think they need to win more than we do actually. We are all but down and out with not a lot to lose whereas Wigan must fear what will become of them if they lose and subsequently get relegated. They will be the ones panicking if they are losing, not us and might be happy to sit back and take some pressure and try to hit us on the counter. That said, let's go for it. Let's be a bit cavalier and see what happens!
back to the subject and i beleive all out attack we need to win i beleive that anything less than a win and the momentum were starting to build will be crushed
i feel that we have got no choice but to go all out attack if we lose this i think i can safly say we are down at the mo we got a small chance of staying up but as i said before are next three homes games will decide are season
I want to see another performance ala Derby at home (2/3 seasons ago) or Blackburn this season. I think we need to go all out attack and go for the jugular. I'd rather lose and have a right go then lose and roll over.
Wigan will still be 4 points ahead of us even if they lose (and 5 points above West Ham and Charlton as before), I'd say our need for points is greater if we still believe we have a chance of pulling off one of the greatest of great escapes. Would Wigan really be in a much more perilious position than us if they went down? And BTW, do others feel like me it would be a good idea to have Shittu as one of our centre backs against Wigan again? I wasn't at the postponed game, but some say he was beaten too easily by Heskey for pace, hence him scoring. However I still rate him as our best CB this season and I'm sure he can become better from the experience (look at how Stewart improved last season in the play-offs after contributing to our earlier defeats at Leeds and Palace).
just for the record - Jay contributed just as much to the leeds and cp defeats. Jordan Stewart walks on water - Moses made him.
