the problem is with bidding for lower league people is you can be sure that players agent will be letting everyother club who may or may not have been interested in that player about ours or any bid to try and get the player (or most likely the agent) a better deal. wouldnt necessarily mean that they wouldnt come to us, but could add a bit of waiting time before the deal goes ahead. im prepared for a bit of a wait but hopefully it wont be too long

I think the 3 are, Billy Sharp, Collins John (especially after seeing him joking about with our subs at Fulham) and Darren Purse. I would have liked us to have tried to get Mcanuff in aswell.
We really do not need to waste money on another centre back, our front line is the problem, why not put the majority of the funds into that, Darren Purse won't come exactly cheap...
Why not? I think Malky leaving is a real possibility. Especially if it's a means to getting Earnshaw. And surely Spring, Francis, Powell and Chambers could be offered as part exchange if we could get someone we really want. I'd even say Macca and Bouazza could be part of an exchange if need be. Not letting anyone go - well, sure for our key players but not everyone in our starting 11 is indispensible. To me these are the only 1st team players we won't consider letting go (unless obscene amounts are offered): Shittu Demerit Mahon Bangura Young Everyone else, though part of a great and close knit unit, could possibly leave.
You'd let Bouazza go? Mariappa? Lee? Even Macca looks like he may have turned the corner. Christ, glad you're not making these decisions.
I'm not saying I'd let them go at the drop of a hat - I am just saying they're not indispensible. Yes I'd let Hameur go if that would secure us a top striker. I would not let Lee go but I think Aidy would. Macca does indeed look as if he's turned a corner but he still has some ways to go before you can say he's a steady PrL performer. As for Mariappa - no. He won't be going. I just forgot about him. Tbh, I can't see any of our younger players going as they already are the backbone of Watford's future. But only a few players are "must keep" nomatter what. And to be completely honest - I'm glad I'm not making the decisions too.

why would you sell chambers too?! we also cant afford to sell francis or spring, which would leave us with only 1 attacking midfielder
I think you misunderstood me. I don't want to sell, but I'd let them go if it would secure a proven prem performer in his place or at another spot in the side. I am fairly happy with most of the squad as it is, but in most areas it could be improved - and we surely don't need 3 attacking midfielders, 3 right backs etc. 2 for each position is enough.
