Look at the rest of the league and not only are our rivals securing points and winning(remember that?) but they are playing with a real cohesion and spirit. Sheffield United won again at the weekend and like their style or not you have to admire the way Watford are still in the hunt despite a poor season up to Christmas. Both of their managers have instilled a togetherness and belief in clubs that even despite relegation will survive into the next season. Another one of the ba*****t boys Wigan came within a few minutes of knocking a further nail into the Hammers’ relegation coffin on Sunday before controversially snatched all three points. But at least they showed the fight and character that is so clearly lacking at West Ham.

Was a good read. Didn't realise the penalty taker for West Ham was the first man to get the ball

One of the few other fans pieces i've read that didn't lay into us. Interesting view from outside at the gradual change in mood around the side from resignation to going down to the real possibility of staying up. sounds odd i know from the foot of the table but we really could do it.

stuff going down and bouncing back up. let's just stay up shall we?

Interesting-despite our criticism from all quarters, about our unattractive style of play, the critics have now started to look at the team spirit that has been fostered by Aidy and has been evident in the squad throughout, as being fundamental in our pursuit of league safety.

This is something so clearly missing from West Ham, but where has it all gone wrong? Players or managers, what do you think? Seems to have exposed quite a few failings in Alan Curbishley's managerial style, but weren't they experiencing these woeful performances before he came along, under Pardew's reign? Not sure what they can do to fix it, but something tells me they are too late anyway. The players seem to be biding their time before touting themselves out after relegation to whichever Prem Club will have them.

Oh to be fly on the wall in the West Ham changing rooms, it's all peace, love and harmony in the Watford camp.

    ;D

Hammers players know that regardless of how they play this year, when West Ham go down there will be Prem clubs after them. Will Lucas Neill, Reo-Coker, Harewood, Benayoun etc want to play in the Championship? Very much doubt it. Final day of the season we'll be seeing transfer request after transfer request.

On the other hand, how many of our players would a Prem club want? Very few if any. The only opportunity they'll have to play in the Prem is with us so they'll be fighting tooth and nail to stay up or get us back here next season.

According to many on here Gavin Mahon is such a fantastic player and captain, I am sure there will be LOADS of premiership and top Championship clubs after him.....

Will be good if loads of clubs are after Gav, will save us having to drop him.
