Didn’t get to see the game so seeing we won 3-2 I can conclude all is good in the world and we are now going to piss the league because we are world beaters. Isn’t that how it works? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Strange, just after the photo Vlad lent over to have a quick chat and ask him a question. Is it common to discuss tactics with the kit man?
Well our 3 centre backs had to change their shorts as they all shat themselves when the ball went near them.
We're all dads from the same school, so none of that sort of thing goes on. We did tuck one away when their rush goalie had over committed and left an empty net though.
Thanks for posting. The utter bewilderment amongst our defenders on the first goal they scored is quite spectacular. We look like a Windows 98 PC trying to run Football Manager 2021. Complete inability to process what was happening.
Got to say, we weren't as bad first half as we had been at Wycombe and Barnsley, but it very much looks like we got out of jail a bit. The two goals conceded do not support the notion that we have a rock solid defence that we can build a promotion on, nicking an odd goal per game. Basically, nothing has changed. We still need a 100% improvement if we're to get promotion because we are still not good enough all over the park. A great and welcome 3 points though.
Agree with this largely. But no way am I agreeing that Ivic should get 8/10 for that. Still defensively creaky - CM’s not creative but not protecting the back line either. His line-ups are still strange and the wrong players dropped whilst others less deserving keep their places. And he still showing he’s inflexible with formation and style. A win is great. But it’s a win in isolation at this point and we need to be better - and that starts with him and his decisions.
Have plenty of reason to feel aggrieved, but they had 5 shots lol https://twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1324096316268515330?s=19
Crikey that was edgy and I didn't see or hear a thing. On court for the final time for a month (hopefully) and came off at 8.15pm to see updates from Dave saying we were 2-1 up. I couldn't bear to listen on the drive home and stayed with Classic FM and The Carnival of the Animals, which was nice. Dave called to say it was 3-2 and I could let go of the steering wheel. Never a goal but by Jove we were owed at least one as many have said. I'm braced for lock down, new Greek text book,Hotel Chocolate hot chocolate machine arriving. Just a few videos to send out to my players with drills and on we go. Keep safe and well everyone and... COYH!
so, did you watch it, or were you huffing and puffing around a 5-a-side pitch? And more importantly are you back aboard HMS PTL?
No. It's quite common to have a quick chat with a colleague though. Maybe it was about Sarr's shirt, which appeared to be ripped at some point?
We're turning more into a Championship side as the weeks go by. Crap defending by both sides. I'm really disappointed at how poor and laboured we are. Sure we can all celebrate because it went our way tonight, but I'm not going to be fooled by it. A terrible refereeing decision that actually went our way for once. A goal from the 1930's. That was the last time a striker could push the keeper into the net and it counted. Our penalty was blatant, but came about because of some more keystone cop defending from Stoke. The only chink of light, is we've been crap all season but are 4th, just one goal from 3rd place. That in itself tells you what a poor league this is. As you can tell, I'm really struggling to find any enjoyment in watching Watford right now. Normally I'd be buzzing with a last minute winner.....but now it's just meh. We won.....3 points.....move on to the next.
Well, you'll have to come to terms with me not, not posting, as I'll come to terms, once again, with not noticing that you exist.
Thought he should have done better for their first goal too, a soft corner given away. I don't know whether that's because he's uncomfortable playing on the left of a three, or whether he is a weak link at the back...all things being equal I'd rather give Wilmot a chance at the back, but I'm not sure about him at the moment
Even better - Quest shows that Sarr handled the ball in the lead up to our winner. Take that Shaqiri, you c**t
Have to take the positives, it's 3 points and crucially the teams around us are dropping points just like we have been, but yeah, not getting carried away yet by any means. A better performance, but with a huuuuuuuge slice of luck, if the first goal gets given as a foul (and of course if Sarr get flagged for handball), we're here saying the similar things to what we've been saying in recent times. I know they only came on for brief cameos, but it's annoying the stream died before we could see anything from Hughes or Gray, they could be a big boost to us
You say that, but Cleverley has been almost ever-present, and Garner (who I'm not 100% sold on yet by any means, but he does look to have more creativity in his little toe than Cleverley in his entire body) very much looks like he's a second string player
Have to say having just watched it replayed on Quest after seeing it live online, I’d be utterly fuming if I was Stoke with that first goal. It’s clear the ref is giving the goal because he thinks his watch notification is for the initial shot, not the follow up shove over the line from Joao Pedro. Happy to be on the right side of it for once but I think Michael O’Neill was remarkably calm about it afterwards. Referee must’ve realised his error at HT so I’m almost surprised he gave us the penalty rather than wrongly turning it down to ‘level’ things up.
Rotating? He made one change tonight. And has left out Garner and Ngakia regularly lately. That’s not rotating.
Lovely goals from us tonight, especially Cleverley's scorcher. Three points and we go again. Might arrange another work meeting for next fixture if this is what happens when I miss a match.
