Doesn’t Zaha being out wreck their very clever plan of showing spoof yellow cards whenever we went near him?

Losing Zaha may motivate them more. Could be a blessing or a curse. Id rather have Foster on tbe bench instead of Dhalberg.

Gomes gets injured, Dahlberg becomes a penalty shoot out hero. The script is written.

Great performance. Should have buried them before half time. Mariappa relieved no doubt. Foster in for Gomes, Holebas fully fit draw Brighton and a final appearance is well on the cards. Bossed Palace about who minus Zaha look impotent. Well done Gracia and the boys.

I didn’t watch Comic Relief last night, so missed the draw. Who do we play in the semi?

Fantastic display and result. I was a little nervous about Gomes but seeing his tears at the end vindicated the decision to play him. They say there's no room for sentiment in football, I disagree. Deulofeu and Deeney were brilliant.

Excellent generally save for 15 minutes or so when they were taking advantage of our errors but great to see Gray come on and score !

    Wembley here we come!!

I was surprised at how crap they were for so long, and how crap we were around the time they scored their goal. Andre is every bit what we paid for him so I hope people lay off him now.

Super pass from Bobby P for the Gray goal, who finished beautifully. Not an easy chance to take with the ball coming over your shoulder on the weaker side. Bringing him on almost guarantees a goal within a couple of minutes.

Geri seems to be growing into his role now, though I wish he’d release the ball a little quicker sometimes, rather than try to beat one more man himself. If he can add that to his game, he’ll be consistent and more decisive weapon.

One word needed for Gomes at the end. Legend.

  15. We might have scored 4 on a different day, but for the dodgy dodgyness in the centre of our defence we're a level better than the Nigels

Just brilliant to see what it means to Gomes

Ultimately the result is far important than the performance.

Gomes visibly in tears at the end. I can only assume he's already been told this would be his last game if we get through, barring injury.

In an industry where far too many players don't care, it's refreshing to see one who quite clearly does. We've been lucky to have him here.

I dunno if it was Gomes last game for good, it may have been last one at home hence the emotion.

We just seem to find a way to win against the Bottom 14 teams, in league and cup. We can blow teams away, grind out wins, and everything in between. Today was probably the latter - scintillating at times in the first half, then the levels dropped in the second half as they came back into it, but we had the quality in the end. If it wasn't obvious before, what Gracia has done for the spirit in this side is brilliant.

Great piece of play from Pereyra for the goal - I think he took out six of their players with one pass. There's the quality that has perhaps been missing in the last couple of months. I thought he was decent today overall. And Andre... he has honestly repaid every penny of that transfer fee this season. Goals impressive in their importance, if not by the number he's scored.

Deulofeu: possibly his best game in a Watford shirt bar Cardiff? No goals or assists, but looked levels above any other player on the pitch at times. He's starting to put those claims of inconsistency to bed.

Lastly, really emotional scenes at the end as Gomes plays probably his last game at the Vic. What a servant that man has been, both on and off the pitch.

I would imagine Gomes will get a game before the end of the season. Maybe even United away if we rest players ahead of Wembley.

Well said. That's why Pererya was kept on the pitch, quality pass. Andre Grey should not be mentioned in the same breath as Ellington anymore. He's scoring enough important goals to justify his price tag imo. Was emotional watching Gomes at the end. Club legend.

Would settle for Wolves and Millwall winning their QFs this weekend!

  25. I can't think of any good reason why he couldn't be picked for at least one of these remaining home matches - maybe West Ham?

Brilliant ! Battling performance to get the win when palace looked as if they were getting on top and we lost a bit of composure . Great to beat palace after those two Wembley defeats . Bring on the semis .

And Andre Gray is turning into a legend .. who would have thought it

Such an easy easy easy win. Palace really are crap. Should have been out of sight by HT. Even in the second half we had the much better chances. The 2-1 score line flatters them. Relegation is a guarantee for Palace next season. Zaha will be gone, Wan-Bissaka will be gone, Batshyuai gone. Back to the Championshop where that tinpot, small irrelevant club belong.

It will all depend on how much is riding on that West Ham game. 7th is still a massive target, and if we need a result Foster has to play. If there's nothing on the game and/or we're 4-0 up with 5 minutes left, then yes, give Gomes his last hurrah.

Tense game but think we edged it overall, once they got it back to 1.1 they seemed to step off. If they'd carried on the momentum I think Palace would have nicked it.

Good goal by Gray and now we can enjoy the other matches.

Big bonus, Palace can't beat us at Wembley again
