Have you seen some of the **** we’ve bought? That’s a Slimani, a Ghezzal, an Iborra and a Musa.

I've just been looking at our crop of U23 MF's there is not a lot of information about them on the club website, but this is what we have: -

Wise age 21 MF (son of Dennis Wise); Critchlow age 20 AMF; McKiernan age 19 only says he is a MF; Ochieng aged 22 not much info on him just MF; Patterson aged 20 AMF; Bergkamp aged 22 (son of Dennis Bergkamp) AMF; Forster aged 20 sounds versatile as listed as can play, FB, AMF or Winger; Phillips aged 20, there is a big write up about him, however I'm not sure if he is fit at present, as the article was not clear?

Do any of you guys have any more details about these players? And if so, which if any of these lads do you think might be able to possibly step up into the 1st team squad in our current time of need?

Need to get as many players that are fit/in good form on the pitch as possible and cobble something together.

Hoping that Xisco goes Pedro on the left, Gray, and Sarr as the front three.

Midfield going to be a bit of a car crash, Hughes and Zinckernagel obviously going to be two of the three. Between dropping Ken Sema back or Wilmot for the other spot, neither of which fill me with any confidence. Wilmot looks like he's regressed there since the couple of appearances under Javi so I would probably go with Ken. He looks knackered and can't beat a man as a winger but maybe his industry might be enough in a more withdrawn role?

Other option is for Xisco to go back to 4-4-2 but surely he won't play a midfield two of Hughes and Zinckernagel?

He's a bit snookered today so unless he does something really silly, he's probably blameless for any team selection.

Phillips would be the first cab off the rank but it says on the injury update article that he's not fit. Presume Critchlow would be next in line as he's made the bench at least once this season. Ochieng has at least played men's football albeit at a very low level (Cork City and Wingate & Finchley) so one would presume he could handle it physically, although I'd worry about his actual ability!

Basically, if any of these end up on the pitch, I think we're stuffed. I don't follow the youth teams as much as others but seems like 18 year old Sonny Blu-Lo Everton is the highest rated of the younger crop. Every time he's mentioned, he seems to have scored another free kick, so on that basis alone, get him in.

    The answer is obvious.

A half fit Deeney to come in at centre midfield.

After all, playing him while crocked worked out just fine last season.

Pairing Deeney with Gray in centre mid would be the dream ticket but you can't have everything: we rely on Gray's goals too much not to build the team around him playing up front.

Hughes is the key today imo.

If he can continue to marshal the midfield and be the conduit in the transition from defence to attack then we have a good chance of a win.

If he is off his game or gets injured I think we'll struggle.

I spent most of my youth football days as a centre forward but did captain my school year 6 team to the district cup as a central midfielder. I reckon I could do a job today if they asked.

He's well liked by the other players, trains hard and fits in well. By all accounts he has a great relationship with his mum and fiance, ie the people who actually know him like him. His problem is that he made some awful comments on Twitter when he was a much younger man. He's repeatedly admitted his mistake and his remorse does seem genuine. His other problem is that a lot of Watford fans took an instant dislike to him and after some good contributions in his 1st 2 seasons his form deserted him last season. If he were to rediscover his form at this moment in time, we'd probably get promoted one way or another. It would be an unlikely redemption were it to happen and he'd need the game time to do it.

I've put a bundle on a Forest win. Knowing Moss was the ref sealed the deal. 16/5. Easy money.

I've not got a great feeling about this one, this season every time we have had the chance to get to first place in the autumn or second place more recently, we have conspired to screw it up.

Are we assuming a Hughes, Zinc and Sema midfield three? Has anyone seen much of King Ken in the middle? Did he play there much for Udinese?

Will be tricky, obviously a weak midfield so plenty of long balls I'm sure. 3-1
