It was just really a case of looking to get the ball forward and be positive as soon as we win possession, very much like Spurs. Amazing the difference it made compared to winning the ball and just passing it square until we eventually lose it.
tbf Gray and Deeney haven't played together for a meaningful period for a long time. If they are allowed to play together I think they will do alright at this level coz we wont play a Norwich City every week.
2nd most points in the PL this calendar year, as of almost 2 years after his appointment - that's one very long "bounce".
In fairness our defence has rarely been the problem this season, he's been unlucky to be behind a pretty solid bunch! Glad to see the Chileans on social media who have been raving about him had a point!
But you expressly stated that the reason Sierralta was considered 5th choice centre back was because 'Moog et al' said he was rubbish - therefore directly affecting the dressing room. I guess you'll have to change your profile to 'ITK onion' now.
He was written off because his CV was completely underwhelming. Looked good tonight I thought. Committed. Good attitude after waiting for his chance. But if he has a shocker in the next few months I won’t crow about it. Same thoughts for the manager really.
Really encouraging, that. Very positive and despite Norwich's possession stats, we deserved the win. There are obviously still issues, such as our strikers' inability to hit the target every once in a while, but the fact that we actually got into those positions in the first place is already an improvement. Need a striker in January (on loan I presume is all we can hope for), and still need more creativity in central midfield. Hopefully Hughes won't leave and can help remedy that. Defence looked tidy and midfield looked OK (if overrun at times), but very encouraging to see Sarr being more positive. Hopefully Xisco can get more out of him. Happy Boxing Day! Time to get drunk(er)!
He’s been in charge of over 100+ games, I’m clearly talking about the period after Jose when they couldn’t stop winning, then as soon as he got the job it went to ****... do you not remember even we beat them??
I agree, but unlike the others he seems to be able to pass a football, so it's a shame we've seen nothing of him. Ekong is massively short of expectations and Kabasele remains hugely unreliable. Wilmot is inexperienced but is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of passing If we want to get out of the division we need two centre halves that don't mind breaking forward and trying a pass.
You need to go and reread the **** you post because that is exactly what you did. Theres no debate about it. It's all up there ^^^.
Doubt it - their chemistry was actually decent again and Troy nearly played Gray in on goal a couple of times, the issue is neither can finish and Troy only does the running of 1/2 a player max and is shattered by 70 minutes. Deeney and Gray missed plenty of sitters under Vlad as well (though maybe not as many in a single game).
He’s a Pozzo bargain bin squad filler. Did well tonight. Am I giving you grief about Navarro’s woeful efforts over several seasons. Jeez just enjoy the good performance and the win.
I think some goals will come from one or both of the front 2 if they are allowed to play together for a reasonable length of time. But I also expect some misses.
I cant be arsed to deal with you ****s any more. Look at the original thread. i am just happy that we won.
An improvement on recent weeks and you have to give credit to the team for winning against the runaway leaders + with some key injuries in there as well Still far too early to judge though, that really wasn’t too different from a number of our 1-0 wins under Ivic and some of the same old problems (terrible strikers) are still there That being said, positives were Sarr looking more interested and motivated than he has in a while and the general positive reaction of the team with the manager at the final whistle
Great stuff. Piles in after everyone is happy, then contradicts himself and then flounces off. All in one page. Excellent work sir.
