Going to start with the positives.....

    .......

Errrrm? Sissoko was fairly bright, and Ranieri actually made a change at half time and took of one of the liabilities.

    Think that's all?

    Utterly diabolical, passionless, embarrassing performance.

***ing embarrassment lost without a battle. Let's be honest this team are not good enough and this won't be the last time we get our pants pulled down by one of the top teams this season.

Ngakia only looked alright as he came on after Liverpool had made all their subs and were playing at walking pace. Even then he still lost Firmino for Liverpool's 5th goal. We've already seen this season that he's not good enough either.

Problem is team attitude. Not the players effort, the team setup. We were fouled 3 times more than we made fouls. Think about that... They had 80% possession, so we didnt make clean tackles. We didnt pressure them or try and win any physical battle. The few times we had the ball - they did. We let Salah and Mane etc have the ball and choose what to do with it. The result doing that is inevitable. For all Liverpools plaudits, we will get equal criticism because we created that result.

It all depends on other teams being even more cr@p than us. That is possible.

Not sure what my particular highlight today was: the debacle trying to get into the ground with the new ticketing system (again), queued for 15 mins, missed KO; evicting interlopers from my seats; evicting more interlopers at HT; or the shambolic display of football.

And come Jan even if we did decide to spend it would already be too late as we'll be so deep in the crap that no decent players will wish to join us.

We were always going to lose but the lack of application and courage was incredible. Sissoko/Ngakia came out with credit. However we have a number of utter cowards in our ranks who were seemingly just going through the motions - Kucka, Femenia and Masina spring to mind. And Cathcart and Rose tried hard but were diabolical. Embarrassing stuff.

  14. We've got an ok attack to score goals.

We are just making so many mistakes and unforced errors in defence and midfield.

We just need a manager to make us tight at the back and keep it simple through the middle. We just look so nervous and error prone in defence and have done for the last 4 games.

Cut out the mistakes and simplify our play to the front men and we should have chances in most games.

I can take losing to this lot but the lack of effort and passion shown was disgraceful. Masina should never be allowed to wear the shirt again, what a clown. Cathcart is past it, Ekong is out of his depth, cant blame Rose as he had the best player on the planet at the moment to deal with. Sissoko and Kuco, one of them should have put a reducer in early doors to fire us up really. Ngakia did well when he came on but the game was gone by then. As for the starting line up and formation, **** knows what that was all about, too much respect given to them really, not the Watford way at all.

A few of our players need to be asked if they want to play football for us, if they dont then bin them off, get whatever youth we have on and build for next season.

Ouch. We have been here before and it doesn’t end well. We have a lack of quality that is scary. Really hard work supporting a team in this situation. However, the least we should expect is some more fight from the players than they displayed today. The new gaffer has a big job on hands. It going to be a long season.

Well, I'm not going to pretend that King would have made a massive difference, but Jesus Christ, we had Dennis up against van Dijk and Matip, yet we continued to launch the ball forward, no wonder it just came back continuously!

Exactly my thoughts and you do have to wonder that when half out players have been away on internet duty until a few days ago why we changed the system.

It's not losing or being outclassed that is sickening.

It's that at least 5 players out there clearly don't give a **** and are playing at 70% effort.

No aggression, no competition for 50/50 balls. We win a tackle and gift it straight back, we have time on the ball, but play a loose, looping lobbed ball to nobody, we don't communicate, we don't defend at all.

There's no way we don't lose today and there is a possibility we got everything spot on and still lose 3-0, but we are in the same league as this team, yet we played like we had won a competition to be at the match. We didn't look even like we had a right to be on the same pitch. It was pathetic. We had lost before the first minute was up.

There is absolute justification for us losing to a side as good as Liverpool, but there's no justification for the weak minded, pathetic shambles that we witnessed today.

I say that, I only watched 35 minutes. I left a game earlier than I've ever done in 30 years as a fan.

Really, really tried to stay collected but that was just ******* terrible.

It just makes me sick to see the likes of Adam Masina & Craig Cathcart still playing for Watford in the Prem.

I don’t care how good Liverpool are; this was all our own doing from recruitment, to management, to individual errors, to a total lack of effort, across the board it is a total shambles.

This is the prem and this is why I hate the prem. We don't have billionaire owners as the thread earlier in the week showed and have no resources to compete with teams like Liverpool or do anything other than a Norwich, invest little, and hope for the best, which is what we have done.

I think we all knew we would lose today - that was a given. We weren't just played off the park, we were played off the park, down the tunnel, through the turnstiles, down Occupation Road and across the length of Cassio Park.

That performance was shambolic in the worst of ways. Passion? No. Heart? No. Commitment? No. Trying? No. Listening to coaches instructions? No. Salah had our Championship level defense on toast all game. We even managed to let Faminio get a hat-trick. From the second minute, when they hit the underside of the cross bar - that was the game format set. We didn't even lay a glove on them. I have never seen a Premiership side with so little possession in my life. How can you possibly try to be angry when it almost makes you laugh how inept and outclassed we were today? Thank god it's only mid October and our season won't be defined on this result. We have to mentally approach games a million times better than we did today, and regardless of how talented the opposition are - give them a game.

Foster probably got his shirts at FT and he got plenty of footage for his Cycling GK channel. If I was Claudio right now I would be in two minds to throw in the towel. Not one of them deserves any praise today, especially Sarr - who when we did actually get forward, found himself offside too many times to count. It's inexcusable as a performance. They let themselves down, the club, the town and the culture of our club as one that always tries to give it their all. A philosophy that GT baked into previous sides. Nothing could of been further from the great man's statement today. I don't care how good Liverpool are, if you lose to a better team so be it, but we just bent over and let them walk all over us.

This was not the Watford team I support today - it was a sorry shadow of it's former self. Masina needs special attention - he was very very bad. His mistake for their second goal was comical. I feel sorry for any fan who paid to see that horror show, and I hope that we see at least some sort of response at Everton. This needs to be a marker as our worst home performance in the Premiership that I can think of. Disgusting. Claudio is technically able to sort this mess out - and he has one week to get some sort of confidence back.

As I've pointed out above with just Ngakia, those four only kind of did anything after Liverpool were 4-0 up and had completely stopped playing. Even then the little they did wasn't really good enough.

Sissoko was our only decent performer today, which is becoming a common occurrence.

    Tough afternoon.

Ranieri shouldn’t be judged on that but the Masina experiment didn’t work .

We lost the ball a lot but they were so clinical and classy .

We do have 3 better CBs than Cathcart though, but none of them are currently fit.

We should have still signed another CB in the summer though mind.

Whilst this is largely true, there is absolutely no excuse for any club promoted to the premier league, irrespective of their circumstances, to be fielding Cathcart and Masina in defence, none what so ever.

Yes, Gino isn’t a billionaire, but he can do better than that, much much better.
